Can't manually sort bookmarks in Firefox 28

No matter where I move a bookmark in the sidebar, it always appears at the bottom of the file, or in the case of unsorted bookmark (not in a specific folder), then at the bottom of the bookmarks bar. No matter how many times I've get her back he'll still go to the bottom of what anyone in. It is extremely annoying and I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
p.s. I have disabled 'Sync' to see if that makes a difference, and he did not.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

To add insult to injury, after getting my courage to try Firefox Sync after years of good results using XMarks, I found the order of my favorites completely bollixed on two PCs that I tried to synchronize using Firefox sync. Bookmark files, that were previously in a single list in alphabetical order, are now divided into two lists without apparent rhyme or reason. I didn't raise somehow combine again, short of annihilate completely and restoring their of XMarks.

  • How can I manually sort the personal bar?

I can't sort my bookmarks toolbar now. I sort normally manually, but probably after an automatic update, they are sorted in alphabetical order. I can't drag and drop more.

I have changed the settings in Library view which apparently change the settings, but they have no effect on Firefox in use.

Interesting. I see that my bookmarks library won't let me drag and drop folders or individual benchmarks at the present time. No idea why and I don't have time to figure it out now.

A quick test in a new profile works well, so it's something weird in my profile (I also lost the troubleshooting information in this profile of work so very odd indeed).

Try in Firefox Safe mode, if it does not help then try to create a new profile using Firefox or additional test reset again.
(CARE! Reset will clear your firefox extensions, so a new profile is usually a better option)

  • How can I change the bookmarks in Firefox 9.0.1

When I upgraded to version 9.0.1, Firefox converted my favorites and suggested a number of them to the low "Unsorted Bookmarks". At present, the only way to bring them back on the list and get an alphabetical sort them, it is move one at a time, which is unacceptable. Not only that, but if I go to the library (how to get there, I might add, is completely counterintuitive.) bookmarks I speak do not appear yet. Something like this used fixing be trivial; now, it seems impossible. Does anyone know a quick way to do it?

You can select multiple items in the usual way with the cursor to move down or with a SHIFT left-click and right-click Ctrl left or Ctrl + A to select all.

  • HOW can I remove my Bookmarks Toolbar Firefox's "Getting Started" link? It wastes space and seems invulnerable to the attempted abductions.

From the outset, I am on a MacBook Air, running Yosemite & the most recent Firefox Help. If your only interest in my question is for bash Macs, then (yawn) I'm not interested. If your interest is to help sincerely, then you have my interest as well:

I'm stuck with a "Getting Started" Firefox link as the first 'signet' (left) on my bookmarks bar, I really want to delete: I was in the Apple computers (from the Apple] [e) & online since the mid-80s, so I'm hardly a naif in the digital world or Firefox newbie , so having a "Getting Started" link to life is ridiculous, AND I really need the space to accommodate MY choice! Then...

I tried all ways recommended to delete unwanted bookmarks - Firefox, BUT when I pull down the "Show all bookmarks" command of bookmarks in the Menu bar, there is NO such thing as the "Getting Started" link, so I can't delete it there. I've even linked by clicking and dragging it out of the toolbar, but it does not (nor made more by dragging to the trash. Then, someone has idea of this insurgent link?

    You can try this?

    1. Open the Bookmarks Manager. In what is the Apple menu icon or the menu bar, click bookmarks > show all bookmarks.
    2. In the search bar search Favorites, type getting started.
    3. Delete the bookmark that opens.

Have you tried organize > Cancel in the Manager of bookmarks (library)?

If you did not close Firefox again then see if you can use "organize > Cancel ' in the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) to cancel this action and restore the bookmark (s).
Hold the button is the first of three buttons next to the back and forward buttons on the toolbar in the library (Bookmark Manager).
If it does not work so that you can restore bookmarks from a JSON backup in the folder bookmarkbackups.

  • Sorted bookmarks manually reset after a certain time

First of all, I use Firefox 50 on a Tumbleweed openSUSE Linux distribution.

Most of my favorites is located in the bookmarks bar and is arranged in folders whose positions are defined manually. And several bookmarks there are sorted manually as well. They work as promised. But, several bookmarks in some files, mentioned above, jumps to random positions after some time after the sort manually.
