• Pin a network to the start menu shortcut

  Everyone figured out how to pin a netwrok to the start menu shortcut?  I tried to do it the way they say it, right click and select PIN to start menu, but the option is not there for programs on the network.  I was able to find Documents and Settings/User/StartMenu and I dropped the military in there, but they are not yet appearing on the start menu.  Help, please.

  Create a folder on your desktop called networking programs or files, and then drag the icons for the files or programs in there.  You can then create a new toolbar by right-clicking on the taskbar, go to toolbars and add the new toolbar.  From there, all just point to your folder on your desktop and the appropriate files will appear in your taskbar tasks.  It's not pretty, but it works.

  Thanks for the reply but my problem is that when I did a "right-click" there was NO "PIN at the beginning", he had disappeared.  Even if you use Internet Explorer on the Start Menu (I.E.from the office is different and would not work for the PIN at the beginning in all cases).

  Ever since the UN-installing Lotus Notes 7 and 8.5.1 installation, I am unable to pin lotus notes to my taskbar.  I did some research and found 2 things that could possibly be the cause; a has been disable the arrows "shortcut" on shortcuts - I have not done this, and the other was the list of reserved names stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileAssociation\AddRemoveApps and AddRemovesNames.

  My request is simply named 'notes.exe', and I disabled no arrows from shortcut icons.  In addition, I can pin any program I want in the taskbar menu or start.  Finally, I can pin LotusNotes 8.5 to my tasks/startmenu bar on my PC at home with no problems.  When windows store a list of pinned icons?  Does anyone know why only the rest of domino applications are all uncompressed suddenly?  I can not pin domino administrator or domino Designer 8.5.  Run the application and right click on the taskbar tab for this application only gives me the option "close the program".

  The default location for items added in the taskbar is the below location.

  C:\Users\ (username) \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\Taskbar

  Sorry, but that's the wrong answer. Absolutely NO program (executable file) would PIN to the taskbar. I found out why and would like to present this as the correct answer to anyone having this problem. This is because I removed the arrows on the icons on the desktop, thanks to a program called "Wise Fixer." If you choose to provide these arrows on the icons you can then pin any program to the taskbar again. Go figure.

  I had the question too, so after playing with it, I found that it could be done, but it's a pain.  Here's what I had to do:

  1. Go to start\program %AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
  2. Create a shortcut to your file here.
  3. Go to your screen Star and pull up "all apps".
  4. You should see your shortcut somewhere in the area of "Apps".  Just Pin to start.
