  I use the regular flash player 10 3D API and I'm rotating about the Y axis, a sprite that contains my bitmap. Although the bitmap.smoothing property is set to true, the bitmap is far from smooth.

  I've nailed the problem. It's the good old 3D AS3 API. You know how, when an object has applied 3d propertis he creates a matrix3D for her. Well on a photo like this, which has 1pixel small patterns on it, when the matrix3D. null = the image looks like hell even with smoothing = true.
