  • Win 7 64 bit: cannot access Web sites randomly

I had this problem for a long time, with several computers and various installations of windows.

After my computer has been for a few days, I'll suddenly find me unable to access all the web pages. Programs like MIRC, Skype and steam work perfectly, like online games. I just get a generic "unable to connect to the server" error when you try to access Web sites and I cannot ping all websites such as google.com (it instantly timeouts).

Do ipconfig/release, / flushdns and / renew fixes it for a few minutes before I lose the ability to access the Web sites again.

Disabling/renewal of the NIC does nothing and troubleshooting of windows doesn't find anything wrong.

The only semi-permanent solution I found is to restart my computer, but the problem will occur again in a few days.

Servers using openDNS makes no difference. Nor is switching between ethernet cable and wireless. This problem is not dependent on the browser. Reboot the router it corrects only for a few minutes until I became unable to use websites to access again.

Does anyone know what the cause of the problem and how to fix it permanently?

    Hello.

I suggest you to configure the TCP/IP settings and check if it works:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2779064/en-us

If the problem persists, I suggest you consult the website of the manufacturer of the laptop computer to download and install the latest network driver and check the results.

Please let us know if the problem still persists.

    Hi Maxine,

According to your description, it seems that you are facing several problems on your computer. I will help you certainly with the same. However, we need a few details to better understand the cause of the problem.

    1. You have recently made any changes on your computer, prior to download?

    2. You get no matter what error message when you access the Web sites?

    3. What is the brand and model of your computer?

    4. Y at - it an update of Windows that recently failed?

Note: For the numbers of KB updates of windows, the underlying steps:

    1. Press Windows + C to open the bar of charms.

    2. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    3. In the left pane, click view update history.

From now on, I suggest the following methods:

    Method 1:

Start the computer in a clean boot State, and check the status. A clean boot to check if any service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

Clean Boot WARNING: putting your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

Once you perform Clean Boot please perform method 2 to continue troubleshooting.

    Method 2:

Make sure that all Windows updates are installed on your computer, as the issue may occur because of some missing security updates.

Please follow the steps to install the available Windows updates.

    1. Press Windows + C, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
    2. Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
    3. Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
    4. If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
    5. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates. If you are prompted, restart your computer.

Once all updates installed, please restart your computer and check again.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Latest version of Firefox (version 32) cannot access web sites. Using Windows 8.1 compatibility issues?

Firefox will automatically update to the latest version which is now the 32 version. I get the following error message: "Firefox can't find the server at us.data.toolbar.yahoo.com"preceded by "Sever not found" what is happening on any site web I'm trying to access. Reload version 31 Firefox works fine, but then it will be updated again.

Windows 8.1 is my operating system.

The latest version is 31.0 Firefox as the only way you would be updated to the current Beta build, which is Firefox 32.0b2 (b2 = Beta 2 as you can say six to 12 beta) build is if you were on the beta channel because of you install a beta version and that he continued to use it since. If you have installed the Firefox 31.0 is upgrade to 32.0b2 then the 31.0 you have installed is a Beta version (make sure the name of the file has not had to say 31.0b# because there were nine of betas) and not the Firefox 31.0 release say mozilla.org or https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

The typical reason for a new version (Windows) being not not able to connect after a new major version of Firefox update or install is usually due to a software firewall does not block the new .exe but it can stll have the previous version allowed.

  • Cannot access Web sites but IE can

I can't access a website using 7 FF. I get a popup that says "secure connection failed! XML.freecause.com: 443 uses an invalid security certificate. "Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate" and it won't let me close. I have to use CTRL/ALT/DEL to close FF. I can't even access the FF support pages (including FF comments) using FF. I had to use IE to submit this. IE has no problem opening the same sites.

The security certificate for the domain xml.freecause.com has expired because it was not renewed in time.

You most likely have an extension that tries to contact this server, and you will need to disable this extension until the site has renewed its certificate.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • After update, cannot access web sites

We have Vista. After December 31, each time that windows is up-to-date, we lose internet access to almost all sites. With Firefox, we can get Yahoo and Yahoo mail. With explore, we get nothing. Always says "the connection has expired. Yet, we have a laptop with windows 8.1 seeping internet without problem on our home network. I did the system restore on the vista PC and that solved the problem of the internet. But the next day there was another update, and once again no internet access. Again, I must do the system restore to fix. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

'Remove an update - Windows 7'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/remove-update#1TC=Windows-7

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

"How to hide or restore the updates of Windows hidden in Windows 7 and Windows 8"

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/24376-Windows-Update-hide-restore-hidden-updates.html

Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

You say you "decided", and that presents all kinds of opportunities for
my mind. If AVG had been installed and working, he would have found the
Malware before you decide anything. If you used another
before anti-virus program? What was it? Did you just install AVG?

Did you leave the previous anti-virus in place program? Do you have
two programs antivirus running? Which should never be done and could
be the cause of your problems.

    He deleted a few things.

Exactly what were these "few things"?
    Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

    I agree with you :)
    What are these things?
and check if you do not have 2 antivirus or more...

one last thing resets the settings of Internet Explorer... got to Tools--> Options Internet--> advanced--> then click on the reset button--> check on the checkbox 'delete personal settings '.
    then press Reset

One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

    See:

You can try to reset (power off / on) of the router.

  • Googlebot cannot access your site. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

    Hello

I'm a rookie at this. I just wanted to create a simple site and could use the tools webmasters google crawl my site

    but it happens

"I received an e-mail from saying: webmaster tools".

    Googlebot cannot access your site.

    Recommended action

If the site's error rate is 100%:

    • Using a web browser, try to accesshttp://www.graphicsigns.co.nz/robots.txt. If you are able to access it from your browser, your site can be configured to deny access by googlebot. Check your firewall configuration and the site to ensure that you are not denying access by googlebot.
    • If your robots.txt file is a static page, check that your web service has appropriate permissions to access the file.
    • If your robots.txt file is generated dynamically, verify that scripts that generate the robots.txt file are properly configured and have to run. Check the logs of your Web site to see if your scripts fail and if so try to diagnose the cause of the failure.

If the site's error rate is less than 100%:

    • Using webmaster tools, find a day with a high error rate and review logs of your web server to this day here. Look for errors to access robots.txt file in the logs for that day and fix the causes of these errors.
    • The more likely explanation is that your site is too large. Contact your hosting provider and discuss to reconfigure your web server or by adding more resources to your Web site.
    • If your site redirects to a different host name, another possible explanation is that a URL on your site redirects to a hostname portion of his robots.txt file exposes one or more of these questions.

Please need your help & expertise to solve this.

    Musch appreciated.

    Hello

Sitemap.XML is automatically created and updated in Muse. If you are hosting the Business Catalyst, then the sitemap.xml is not created by Muse. It is created by a process that runs periodically on the servers of BC, so it can take up to a day before the sitemap.xml in British Colombia has been updated.

  • I have problems to access Web sites

Having problems connecting to some Web sites. When I now try and access it I just get a message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Never had problems before, and he seems to be the same thing with ALL the pc's on my network. If I connect with the same laptop but via a different ISP or on another network I can access the site, so I don't think it's my phone.

I tried to type in ipconfig/flushdns at the cmd prompt.

When I pressed the space bar it just cam this
"The requested operation requires a rise."
    I am running windows Vista
Also when I ran a "ipconfig/displaydns" command I saw one of the websites listed and one was wearing the website name with "isdownerblocked.com".
What this means, or is it any help to solve the problem?

I am currently using Virginmedia as my ISP.
    Any suggestions

  • Cannot access some sites behind the pix515e

I started my CISCO PIX 515e in July 2004 with a minimum configuration. The only change I made was to introduce the syslog and 3COM tftp server. Two weeks after my Internet (browsers) users (inside) began to have problems of access to certain sites for example google.com, cnn.com etc when I bypass the firewall, they can access all the sites. When I place them behind the firewall again they cannot access the same places. It seems to me that the firewall is the cause. This could be the cause?

Without seeing your config, it is hard to say, but a proposal, I'd say you're probably out of translation addresses. The PIX must create a translation for the traffic as it comes out, and she does that based on nat/global orders, you have in there. Let's say you have the following:

    Global 1 200.1.1.1 - 200.1.1.254 (outside)

    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

Then, this indicates the PIX to translate any internal address to 200.1.1.x he died. If all of these 254 global addresses be used however the next person who tries to go out will be denied. If you look at your syslog server, you will see a message like "Unable to create translation."

If you change it above to:

    Global 1 200.1.1.1 - 200.1.1.253 (outside)

    Global 1 200.1.1.254 (outside)

    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

then the first 253 users that come out will have their packages would NAT, then all of the other packages will be PAT had to the 200.1.1.254 address, giving you an extra 65, 000 - odd outbound connections.

If that's not enough (remember that only the user going to a few web sites can open connections to 20-30), then you can change the above to the following:

    Global 1 200.1.1.1 - 200.1.1.252 (outside)

    Global 1 200.1.1.253 (outside)

    Global 1 200.1.1.254 (outside)

    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

giving you a 65, 000 - odd additional translations and so on.

Other than that, we would need to see your Setup and your messages to syslog (in the debug level) when these users can't get out.

  • Why can't access Web sites when I copy & paste or type the address in the address window - no answer - but I CAN visit Web sites non - Firefox only?

I can access websites through bookmarks, most visited, history or if I click on links in Google, etc. If I click on a link directly, it will open. If I copy & paste or type a link into the address window, click Enter or on the arrow "go to" in the address window - no response. I tried several Web sites. This seems to have happened since the 29th of Firefox upgrade. This only happens with Firefox.

You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe to see if Firefox works correctly without error? You can start Firefox in Mode safe below:

    • Windows/Mac: choose Help > restart with disabled modules
    • Linux: run firefox-safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens fine with no problems, it is probably one of your extensions that is causing the problem. You can reactivate your modules one by one until you find the one that is causing the problem to be re-activated.

This might or might not be relevant to your question, but it seems that user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-# .js files and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox. You can get the profile below:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory > see folder

    or

    • Go to Subject: support , and then click view the folder next to the profile directory.
