I have haveWindows 7 Home Premium.  After installing Norton 360 and uninstall Norton Backup (free 30-day trial came with the pc).  I get a message from the center of Action indicating the Security Center Windows is disabled and I cannot turn it on.  Tried to restart and I tried to restore to a previous point and the pc was not able to restore as well.

Hi Rickendude,

·        Do you have any other security software installed on the computer now?

Step 1

I suggest you to check if the Security Center service is set to automatic and started and change accordingly. To do this follow the steps below:

a. Click Start.

b in the start search box type services.msc and press to enter.

(c) in the services window, do scroll down to Security Center.

d. right-click on it and click Properties.

e. check if the startup type is set to automatic, otherwise it is set to automatic.

f. click on the Start button, this will start the Security Center service.

g. click on apply and Ok.

Check if you can enable the Security Center.

Step 2

If the problem persists, if you have any other security software installed on the computer, you can also try to temporarily disable third-party security software and try to check if you can enable the Security Center. If you are able to start, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

Thank you and best regards,

  • Windows Security Center service cannot be started

I have some malware on my computer. It is gone now. I ran several scans with different products. No virus or malware are detected.

However, I get the error message "Cannot start Windows Security Center Services".

I tried all of the recommended patches. But none of them work.

When I try to start the Services of Windows Security Center, I get the error message

"Windows failed to start the service on local computer Security Center.

"Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start.

Also, when I start the computer, I get the message error "problem, from module 72e8044d.cpp is not found" I don't know if the error messages are related to the same problem.

    I am running Windows 7.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

Your computer was pre-installed with Windows 7?

If so, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your system to help in the exercise of upgrade on site.

If you have installed Windows 7 separately on the machine, you can perform the upgrade on the spot, using the Windows configuration files stored in DVD or USB.

Hope this helps, get back to us if you need further assistance for Windows.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:  SFC scanner.

System File Checker (SFC) scan will replace the missing or corrupted system files on your computer.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2: I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • does anyone know why my Security Center can't turn on the only show a message (windows Security Center cannot be started)

does anyone know why my Security Center can't turn on showe just me a message (windows Security Center cannot be started) what can I do for this?

If someone help me I thank a lot.

    Hi belizariocruz cruz,.

    ·         You receive an error with the message code?

    ·         What is the operating system installed on the computer?

This problem may occur if the Security Center service is not configured to run under the Local Service account, but the dependent services are configured to run under the Local Service account.

Note: The following can be used for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Method 1: To resolve this problem, make sure that the Security Center Service and all its dependencies are configured to run under the Local Service account. Set the center of security and its dependencies services to run under the Local Service account.

    a. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.

    b. double-click Security Center, click on tab log .

    c. Select "this account" click on the Browse button, type Local Service and click ok.

    d. type the password and confirm the password and click ok.

Method 2: You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner for any infection by virus. Check out the following link to do the same thing.

    Hello WK99,

    1. you have any software from third-party security installed on your computer?

If you have security software installed on your computer, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the security software.

If still does not work, run a file system on your computer check tool. You can read the article which will give you information on how to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

This can also be caused by an infection of malicious software on your computer. I suggest that you run a Malware scan on your computer and check if you have the same problem. You can follow the link below and run Windows Onecare scan online.

    Hello

You should try the following steps:

    • Manually start the Security Center Service

Click Start, click Run, type "services.msc". Scroll down and double-click Security Center. Set starts off in automatic. Click on 'start. Restart your computer and check if it is running.

    • Manually launch the .exe

Right click and "run as Administrator" on C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe

    • Registry

Look for the value DisableAntiSpyware at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender and delete who appreciate, but make a backup first.

    • Make sure you have a file named "wscui.cpl" in the Windows\system32 folder. If so, try to start, if not, you can copy it from another PC.

  • Windows 7 - "cannot start service Windows Security Center" aka WSCSVC. Error 1075

    Set indicator important message...

"The Windows Security Center service cannot be started.

This happened after I was deleting my WINDOWS 7 malware/virus. I open "SERVICES" went to the CENTER of the SECURITY in respect of services and a click with the right button on the name WSCSVC or attempt to start the service, following the verbosed of error/warning:

"Windows failed to start the service on Local Computer Security Center.

I think this may have had parts removed by Hijack, Anti-Malware, TDSSkiller, gmer, Housecall or ComboFix when I get rid of my system from Malware/Trojan/virus. With the exception of the Security Center, my system is now working well.

The WSCSVC registry may have been deleted and the residue in the capture instant/backup/restore points. I know This is a very important function to have running, as it monitors your safe; Firewall, antivirus, UAC, Anti-Spyware and updates, etc.

How to restore this program back to its normal state of operation, even if there are no backup? IE (manually enter the information in the registry?

I'll be somewhere pointed to download the replacement program? Perhaps out of the installation DVD WIN7?

Are there other ways as an option to solve this problem? Perhaps, another Member of program state and remove the remains of Security Center?
