Cannot apply the writing! Problem reading this document (16) Acrobat 9 pro

I am applying the redaction sensitve data. I go through all the steps, mark it to reaction etc... but when I click on 'apply writing', I get the error message "there was a problem reading this document (16). I can't find an answer to this anywhere!

The file that I use comes from a CD of our retirement administrators sent me. There are no restrictions on what I can do with the files.

I tried this on 3 different computers, by using Acrobat 10 Pro and Acrobat 9 Pro (with latest updates) and I still get the same error message. Even when I extracted a single page, rename it and try to expurgate manually (without using search and redact), I still get the same message.

Any ideas?  I really need to redact social security numbers!

Thank you

I using windows 7 pro if that helps...

It's probably a corrupted file. Try to print to the PDF printer and then

drafting of the new version.

I use Acrobat X 10.1.4 and I can't open a document with error message 'problem reading this document (135)' product. The document in question opens with Foxit Reader. It was created by a version of the Chrome browser. Fraction of Chrome produces a PDF file does not open with Acrobat. Hints would be appreciated. I can download the document, as appropriate.

Just out of curiosity, I created a PDF of the same page again [http://blog.coldflake.com/posts/2012-08-09-On-the-fly-C%2B%2B.html]. This time, it opens, but scrolling still produces error 135. My browser is Chrome 23.0.1271.97 (to date).

If two different pieces of software to both give errors, I think it is very likely that the PDF is bad, most likely due to a bug in PDF creation.

Different software gets silently errors, or don't even notice the errors in different ways. In fact, I found at least one error in the PDF file. If you want to report it to Google, you can say:

The PDF file contains a line

    / BaseFont/afpRuvz7I0G/R6YwdN1lqA ==

The slash embedded in the middle name actually a PDF name is not valid.

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... and download Adobe Reader 11.0 installation base.

Then download each individual updates and run them sequentially.

I installed back to the last update of security which is version 08 and were able to register under normal operations.

You will need to disable the automatic updates to keep up with the 08 version, until Adobe fixes this problem in a future release.

    In response to my question:

Are reports of problems to install receivers purchased upgrade versions of Acrobat Pro XI?

    The answer was no.

He took the details of the messages and offered to help him, but I refused.

I bought and used all the upgrades Acrobat Pro 6.

    Complete installation attempted.

Is done on a clean installation of Windows XP SP3 on an OQO02 with the only other program installed Office 2007 SBE.

  • "There was a problem reading this document (15)", and I could not remove one of my pages. It's never happened before.

I tried to delete some of my pages. but I did not like he showed it: there was a problem reading this document (15), how I could solve it?

Sometimes if you again save the document, close it, then reopen it, you can work around this problem. Re-register it will sometimes seem to resolve corruption as long as the file is readable.

  • Message from the AR - "the document could not be saved.  There was a problem reading this document. »

I have a PC and downloaded a file from a site that I use frequently.  When I tried to save the file, I got the message, "the document could not be saved.  There was a problem reading the document. "" When I clicked on ok, a new message appeared, "" out of memory ".  My computer has plenty of available storage.

I would be so grateful for any assistance.

The most likely problem is that your temporary file area is full. You can make in your temp directory and empty the file manually. The other possibility is that the file is corrupted.

  • What causes the error "the document could not be saved.  There was a problem reading this document

    (131) ", when you try to save a PDF file in Acrobat Professional X (10)?

There are no security settings, no password and no restrictions in force on the PDF document.

I am the owner of the document Windows access control list and also have full control of the administrative permissions for it.

Trying to save the PDF file under a different name does not remove the error message or overall inability to save the document.

This isn't a thing of security at all. This means that Acrobat found something in the PDF file that he disliked - what is false.

  • The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (14)

I work with PDFs contain up to 200 pages (created from MS Word). I use points highlights, comments, forms, lines, and text boxes in the PDF file to annotate the document. Often, I'll have a few hundreds of comment objects in each pdf document.

The problem is that, almost always, my documents get to the point where I start to get this error message every time I try to save the annotated pdf file. Several times I can just try to save it again and it will work the second time.  But almost always when I continue to work with a document and continue to add objects of observation, the annotated finally pdf just won't save any more.

What is Acrobat DC known to become unstable at a certain size file or after the addition of a number of objects of comment?  Or after saving a file a number of times?

I tried to optimize the files, but it doesn't seem to help.

There are utilities that will find and fix the corrupted pdf files?

Your in a world of pain pdf...

I hear ya! If your document has tons of comments that you need to save, export in an FDF file. Return to a non-currpted, without comment by version of the file, and then import this FDF file. Voila! Your comments are back.

With respect to the fixing of the PDF file, I have often hit their opening in Apple Preview. Save, close and return to Acrobat. I don't know why, but the preview can open the files PDF Acrobat cannot... don't know why.

  • The cold did not save the document. There was a problem reading this document (21).

    Good day to all,

We have a problem with the new version of Adobe Reader 11.0.10.

All the document generated with a procedure on our systems cause the error in the title, when we try to save (save and save as...).

Moreover, after I pressed OK, it returns this message: "insufficient for the image data.

The previous version of Adobe Reader (11.0.9) has not caused the error.

I also have a sample file but I don't know how to download.

    Thanks for any help

The document is damaged.  Just opening the document will try to save it during the closing process; which in turn will fail with the error you describe.

The same thing happens when you try to open the file PDF with Acrobat.

I would look into the software that generates these docs.

I'm a bit of a loss compared with Sabian. What exactly users trying to do when they get the message? It almost seems that they are only trying to launch Acrobat and there is a problem. In this case, a repair is necessary. However, I'm back to not understand what they're trying to do, in the operating system or Acrobat, and where the problem may be resulting to be located.

That left me speechless for a long time, but I think I just found a workaround that is may be what many of you who support companies can search for.

End users as admins have them is a complete no, no.  I can't have that, it is unacceptable.  It dawned on me that if I had to turn an ordinary windows app, perhaps I could temporarily raise so that the app can run and perform it requires registry settings.  I did some research and found that you can run the command prompt mail application.  I intend to make a race package once I deploy to my end users that I want to set up this app that launches the application as a local administrator, let's configure them it, accept the screen of "Enforcing policy" and get synchronization started.  Once the installation program, they have more need the application to run as the local administrator.  However, I did a lot of tests and I found that I needed to 'Allow no devices configurable' active too.

  • You need a newer version of the Pages to open this document.

    I have Pages 5.5.3.

I created documents as recently as two days ago, but now I can no longer open them as a drop-down list advises me that "it takes a more recent version of the Pages to open this document."  This issue is beyond a joke!  I locked myself in my own documents? Please help as soon as POSSIBLE.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.

5.5.3 pages in your Applications , Pages ' 09 file in your Applications/iWork file.

You have double-clicked on a document of 5 Pages , and he opened the Pages ' 09 , which cannot open it. Because the two versions have the same file extension .pages

Right-click on the document and choosing 5 Pages (orange icon) to open it.

Pages ' 09 may have been abandoned by Apple, but it always works and still has over 100 features more than 5 Pages and is much more effective and faster.

Continue to use Pages ' 09, unless you need to Exchange files with an iPad.
