  Hey, pregnant.  Yes, I see that it is empty.  I think the problem is buried somewhere in the registry.

  My only suggestion is to use Windows Explorer to create the folders and shortcuts in your document folder and drag and drop them on your desktop.

• How can I recover my lost after updating to Firefox v33 tabs?

  Problem: After updated to v33, I am unable to restore my lost tabs and GROUP the tabs in my previous session, which was last night at 23:38 UTC

  Here are the steps I took:

  (1) history > restore previous session is grayed out.

  (2) I checked to make sure that I had configured session restore by going to Options > general Panel > when Firefox starts: show my windows and tabs from last time.

  (3) I clicked on Firefox > properties > Previous Versions. But since I have never set up any kind of restore configuration, there is no earlier versions available.

  (4) I tried to search the sessionstore.js file in my profile folder and replace it with my sessionstore.bak file because this file date has changed to 14/10/2014 18:38. However, I can't find the session.js file and the files only related to sessionstore I see are: session.rdf, sessionCheckpoints.json, sessionstore.bak, sessionstore.bak - 20140923175406.

  First of all, very important, please make a backup of all files that begin with sessionstore in a safe place, such as your Documents folder.

  If sessionstore.js is completely absent, it's very strange. In this case, I suggest to leave Firefox and then rename sessionstore.js sessionstore.bak to see if Firefox can read this file when it starts again.

  I have 2 questions.

  I was not able to create a folder. For example, if I'm in excel and I want to save a file there is a button that says "new folder." When I point and click on the button nothing happens.

  For several months, I had was rename files to get. But I'm off to rename the files. I am not satisfied with messing around with the registry.

  First Question, he used to work I had no crashes or other failures. I'm following all recommended windows updates.  Why this work stoppage?

  Explorer (explorer.exe) is the program that is the start menu and taskbar, windows folder and the office (which is a folder window).

   

  To see if a fix is available

  In Control Panel (and select Classic discovered in the left pane) select reports on the problems and Solutions (problem of type in the START search box), go to historical problem, right-click of your error and choose check for the Solution.

  You can also right-click and choose Details for more information. Post these details here. The name of the Module fault is important information.

  If the problem affects Panel press the Windows key + R and type wercon (or type it at a command prompt).

   

  Close the browser and start a command prompt

  • Close Windows Explorer
  • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.
  • Click Start. Ctrl + Shift + Right-click on an empty spot (just above the power of buttons is one place) then Exit Explorer.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then Task Manager.
  • Control all processes to explore are closed. On the process tab select explore and right-click and choose end process, repeat if more of an Explorer in the list.

  Then to restart the Explorer after trying all of the following

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
  • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and enter explorer

   

  If you cannot start the Explorer at all

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
  • Under the processes tab, click Show processes from all users to elevate to administrator
  • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and type cmd

  If you cannot start a folder window you can use the Browse button in the new task dialog. Don't forget that you must right click and choose Open rather than double-clicking.

  I made the updates for the first time to my laptop T60 - some directly from the Lenovo Web site and other tool ThinkVantage (which I've also just updated!).   And it seems that at each update, or some of them, the desktop becomes cluttered with icons.  They seem related to updates.

  And you can only imagine how many updates have been made if I didn't all over the years for the T60.

  Is this correct and safe delete desktop icons?  I don't want to delete actual updates of my system, however.

  It is difficult to be sure because this screenshot has been drastically reduced in size, but looks like you have your system set to download everything on your desktop if all updates are on your desktop now. Once installed, you probably don't need them, but before you remove, I would move them to another folder. If one of these files were actually needed and installed in your office, then you would end up with error messages, or that something works do not. If after moving, them and all seems ok, it's probably OK to delete, but do so at your own risk.

  If you did the recovery with Win 8 media you cannot make another copy.  HP Support Assistant does not.  Can do only one source of recovery.  Whenever I came back to Win 8.1 due to problems, I had to move again to win 10 using the FREE option.
