Cannot debug/run app in the Simulator

Hello.

I have a project of cascades using target_10_0_9_2318 and host_10_0_9_529.  The project brings together and connects properly.  I'm testing this point on the Simular because I don't have a camera BB10 and PlayBook is still 2.1 OS.  The version of the Simulator is 2318.

This is the error message I get Momentics when trying to debug the application (note that this message is displayed after I provided my debugging password):

Error in the final launch sequence
Impossible to prepare and upload the binary file
Package failed: 1
Error: Path access valid asset 'libfonts.so '.

I also had this message on a previous NDK and have updated it and my project, thinking that it was a bug that has been fixed.

I understand what the message says, but I don't know how to correct it and why he can't find this font library.  I can't link the library using lfonts - because the library cannot be found.

I work under Linux.

Thank you

Colin

Hi all.

I don't know why libfonts.so is not found, but I decided to try just remove my file of bar - descriptor.xml.

This allowed the program to start. I should point out that I have added these libraries using the function "Add library" of Momentics. I therefore believe that there is a bug in this feature.

Thank you
Colin

  • Cannot debug/run app in the Simulator from IDE update

I did the error has earlier to upgrade my momentics IDE to 2.1, and since I'm unable to successfully launch my app to the market or debugging in a simulator. The application loaded on the Simulator and I can run from the home screen by pressing on it, but while the splash screen is displayed, the application stops immediately when launched from the IDE. There is no error message displayed in the console, the application stops just immediately after the splash screen is displayed.

I tried with five simulators which worked very well all the way from 1.0.x to 10.3.x. I am lucky to have an old copy of the 10.1.0 IDE still on my system and I can run and debug my app very well using this one, but I would really be able to use the IDE to 2.1 again. It worked fine on the 2.0 IDE too, these problems just started to happen after the 2.1 IDE update.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so, have you found a solution?

OK, never mind. I accidentally upgraded my old working version of the IDE too all by improving the SDK (I forgot that it updates too the IDE) and panicked because then it would be not too run or debug from the IDE. I solved it but by uninstalling the TWO versions of the IDE, then put it back up from scratch. After the clean install, everything is fine and I can run and debug fine with 2.1 IDE.

I guess it's something messed up with the upgrade process. A fixed.

  • Cannot run app in the Simulator!

    Hello

So I did the project using Flash Builder and since the SDK is buggy and can't be packaged and signed using Flash Builder, I have updated the content property of the XML to "App.as" and packed using the command line. I also did the 2 step of signing process.

Now I have installed the signed bar file using the command line, and when I open the app, I see a gray screen!

I think that 'App.as' is an action script file which I use in the tag content. On the other hand, Flash Builder creates a SWF file using this and which uses as content. My question would be, how can I do?

In addition, no one knows about the next SDK release? This SDK is really buggy!

    Hey Foundation.

you mix two steps into one. Please do the following:

    1. Change your content of the tags in the - app.xml back to the original value. so, something like this:

[This value will be overwritten by Flash Builder in the output app.xml]

    2. Then, you need to compile your application. After resetting the - app.xml under your src directory, you can do this part in flash builder. to do this and after measurements, please carefully follow the instructions in this thread:

      http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-Air/useful-tip-package-images-via-com...

After that, you should be able to package and sign your App. Good luck!

  • To open the app in the simulator of BB 10 Alpha Dev in debug mode

    Hello

I develop black berry 10 webworks app. I use the latest version of the sdk provided and the dev alpha 10 blackberry Simulator to run the application. I am also using the ripple chrome emulator to test and debug the application.

I want to debug the application on the simulator using the browser webkit or something like that, but for some reason I'm not able to do.

While the application of packing, I inserted the - d option. It says on the bb site which

"With your application running in the Simulator in a desktop browser, type http://:."

I tried to but could not see the application in debug mode.

I tried port numbers, since I was on the apache server

    8080,8181,85...

Could any body help me with this

Thank you very much in advance

    See you soon

Because you added the - d option, it should work very well. All you need to do is put the device/Simulator in developer mode (settings-> Security-> Developer Mode) and I guess you have already done this. In almost all cases, I worked with BB PlayBook and BB10 all what you need to do now is the point of your browser Chrome this URL + port:

    http://:1337

The INVESTIGATION period should not be the problem since you already deployed the app on the Simulator, I guess? So give it a try with the port number and it should work now.

  • Can not see my App in the Simulator

In the JDE Menu "project / all of the ongoing projects.

AND... Look in the folder for downloads on the Simulator - your application will not be on the homescreen of icon.

  • How to exit an app in the simulator of Playbook Tablet?

Hi, I have just compiled the sketchpadstandard in an application and have it currently running in the Simulator.  How do I exit/quit out of the app in the Simulator?

I found my answer.  There are 'slide' to the top of the black bar at the bottom of the Simulator.

  • ' - deb.. ' appended to the app in the Simulator?

I updated to the latest version of the SDK (1.0.6) and simulator of PB and I have an AIR application.

After the first launch (debugging) of my application the name of the application under the icon of the app in the Simulator shows ' [ApplicationName] - deb... "(without the quotes).

[ApplicationName] is the name that I entered the node of the [ApplicationName] - app.xml file, but where is the '-. deb ' come from? And who has also been added on the real PB? If so, how can I avoid this?

It's "-debug" which is added to the app.xml file while you are debugging. Release final version deletes it.

  • Not found payment module: Get cannot start my application on the Simulator

  • Can deploy app in the Simulator, but not to the device

Sorry about this newbie question, but how is it that a simple HelloWorld application compiled in Eclipse runs just fine on the Simulator, but cannot be installed on a 8320 Curve by the Blackberry Desktop Software?

I use the latest version at all.  The message returned by the desktop software is:

! There was an error importing files.
No additional applications can be found. Your file can
contain applications that already exist in the list of applications,
are not compatible for your device, or errors.

However, I am able to deploy the application on the handset using the command line tool:

    C:\Eclipse\plugins\net.rim.ejde\vmTools\JavaLoader.exe -usb load \workspace\HelloTest\deliverables\Standard\5.0.0\HelloTest.jad

This installs the application, which then runs correctly on the device.  I can then reload the list of app on the Blackberry Desktop Software tool and it shows HelloTest, but under the properties of the Application-> dependencies it says:

    "Application not available (net_rim_cldc).

It seems that some dependence crept in the generation of the application and that confuses the desktop tool.  The curve is running 4.5 OS.

Should I just throw this office tool, or how can I clean the application so that it installs correctly?  Obviously, this is just foreplay before building a much broader application, and I wish I had these little glitches will hamper ASASP.

    Thanks for any help!

You should be able to download a plugin 4.5 on the site to update. Go to "help > install new software" to open the screen of software available. If you have not yet done so, add the updated BlackBerry site to your Eclipse configuration:

    1. Click on "available software Sites.
    2. Click on the button 'Add '.
    3. Enter a name such as 'BlackBerry update location' and set the location http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.5/java
    4. Click OK, then OK again to return to the screen of the software available

The 'working with' menu drop-down, select the location of BlackBerry Update (or whatever you named it). Expand the BlackBerry Java plug-in category and you should be able to select an appropriate plug-in version.

Have you created a debug or run your application configuration?

  • My app in the simulator of loading

Complete n00b question - how to run my code in the Simulator?

I use the JDE and I have the program "hello world" just one of the examples.

I create the project and press F5. The Simulator starts and loads of Blackberry OS.

    Now how my code?

    I tried the following:

-File--> load Java program...--> open my .cod file. No effect.

-Find my program in the list of applications. He isn't here.

-throw a NullPointerException in my main() function. Nothing.

Did I miss something blatantly obvious? Thank you.

Open your JDE application and select from the menu: build together and Run

Find the icon for your application among the other icons on the screen of the Simulator and run your application.

If you have not set the app to your app icon - there is a simple square icon for your application. Take a look at app names appear under the icons. And select your application.

  • Quick help please - App in the Simulator

    Hi guys,.

I hope that for a quick resolution here to get my apps submitted before the deadline for the free playbook

I went through all the tutorials and successfully signed my android applications and managed to get the icon to the simulator by clicking the .bar created in eclipse and then go to blackberry tools and then install, but when I click on the icon in the Simulator, he opens says «Initializing please wait...» "then after about 30-45 seconds, the start of blackberry screen appears and then just goes back to the home page.

Someone else this experience? Can you point me in the direction of what can go wrong?

    Thank you

    Ian

Thanks to everyone on this thread and the other thread problem for their suggestions to solve this problem.

I had the same problem, but I would just add something that makes the Simulator works for me...

-Already put 2 carrots on WMware, as suggested elsewhere. Still the Simulator was not for me.

-Put the monitoring high task (for processes in WMware Windows Task Manager)

and finally it worked! Works quite slowly, but I found this on other computers: at least it opens the app!

  • Cannot debug/run virtual Tablet

    Hey guys,.

I followed the tutorial as blackberry on their site for the installation of their tablet SDK and manufacturing and the operation of the Hello world app.

I have Adobe AIR installed correctly and I have Adobe Flash Builder 4.

On the installation of the SDK Tablet Blackberry I tried to integrate the Adobe flash builder SDK, but he continued to come on up with the message 'Incorrect Adobe Flash Builder directory' when the directory I chose was the folder that the program was installed in.

So I decided not to include it and I did the installation

Then I made the code for the Hello world app in Flash Builder (even after following the tutorial), but when I try to debug the Blackberry tablet is not an option for him. There is just Application Desktop and Web Application. While on the tutorial it says there should be an option of Tablet blackberry

Can anyone help? I'm really stuck

    Thank you

    Chris

OK, so from the looks of it, you must refresh your flash builder 4.0.1 to 4.5 (Burrito). 4.0.1 is just an update while 4.5 Burrito is a whole new 'upgrade '. its still in the preview but it works well.

Here is the link for the update of flash builder 4.0.1:

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/Flex/downloads_updaters.html#Flex4

and here is the link for the burrito, if you want to go this route:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder_burrito/

After you do the update of re - run installation of SDK blackberry from scratch and is no longer, you should get all the errors. the reason why you could not install less than 4.0 was because previously it would install but users encountered incompatibility issues so I guess that they hard-coded installation so it is not yet install to the 4.0 until updates user 4.0.1. hope that helps and good luck!
