' - deb.. ' appended to the app in the Simulator?

I updated to the latest version of the SDK (1.0.6) and simulator of PB and I have an AIR application.

After the first launch (debugging) of my application the name of the application under the icon of the app in the Simulator shows ' [ApplicationName] - deb... "(without the quotes).

[ApplicationName] is the name that I entered the node of the [ApplicationName] - app.xml file, but where is the '-. deb ' come from? And who has also been added on the real PB? If so, how can I avoid this?

It's "-debug" which is added to the app.xml file while you are debugging. Release final version deletes it.

  • Cannot debug/run app in the Simulator from IDE update

I did the error has earlier to upgrade my momentics IDE to 2.1, and since I'm unable to successfully launch my app to the market or debugging in a simulator. The application loaded on the Simulator and I can run from the home screen by pressing on it, but while the splash screen is displayed, the application stops immediately when launched from the IDE. There is no error message displayed in the console, the application stops just immediately after the splash screen is displayed.

I tried with five simulators which worked very well all the way from 1.0.x to 10.3.x. I am lucky to have an old copy of the 10.1.0 IDE still on my system and I can run and debug my app very well using this one, but I would really be able to use the IDE to 2.1 again. It worked fine on the 2.0 IDE too, these problems just started to happen after the 2.1 IDE update.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so, have you found a solution?

OK, never mind. I accidentally upgraded my old working version of the IDE too all by improving the SDK (I forgot that it updates too the IDE) and panicked because then it would be not too run or debug from the IDE. I solved it but by uninstalling the TWO versions of the IDE, then put it back up from scratch. After the clean install, everything is fine and I can run and debug fine with 2.1 IDE.

I guess it's something messed up with the upgrade process. A fixed.

  • App installs in the Simulator, but will not work

I installed a (bar) AIR app in the Simulator (currently using the default icon), but when you click on it, it does nothing.

I tried various sovereign wealth funds including extremely simple without success.

I tried in the card Sim PlayBook. and the card Sim BB10. The only difference in the latter case, it is only after you click the icon, the screen clears before returning to the original state after doing nothing with my application.

    I tried without success AIR 2.5 - 3.2.

What is the most recent and correct for PB so BB10 method?

    Thanks to steve_web:

The problem was that I try to run the SDK/bin folder command line package manager and using full path of the directory for files SWF and xml of th.

As a result, there is a similar directory structure in the folder of the air in the BAR.

I did that because I couldn't have the classpath working to run Packager outside the bin folder.

I got it finally work when I realized it was WAY not the CLASSPATH that needed to be added.

In short... the app worked, but it didn't load the swf file because he was in a series of subfolders in the BAR.

    Thanks Steve!

  • To open the app in the simulator of BB 10 Alpha Dev in debug mode

    Hello

I develop black berry 10 webworks app. I use the latest version of the sdk provided and the dev alpha 10 blackberry Simulator to run the application. I am also using the ripple chrome emulator to test and debug the application.

I want to debug the application on the simulator using the browser webkit or something like that, but for some reason I'm not able to do.

While the application of packing, I inserted the - d option. It says on the bb site which

"With your application running in the Simulator in a desktop browser, type http://:."

I tried to but could not see the application in debug mode.

I tried port numbers, since I was on the apache server

    8080,8181,85...

Could any body help me with this

Thank you very much in advance

    See you soon

Because you added the - d option, it should work very well. All you need to do is put the device/Simulator in developer mode (settings-> Security-> Developer Mode) and I guess you have already done this. In almost all cases, I worked with BB PlayBook and BB10 all what you need to do now is the point of your browser Chrome this URL + port:

    http://:1337

The INVESTIGATION period should not be the problem since you already deployed the app on the Simulator, I guess? So give it a try with the port number and it should work now.

  • Quick help please - App in the Simulator

    Hi guys,.

I hope that for a quick resolution here to get my apps submitted before the deadline for the free playbook

I went through all the tutorials and successfully signed my android applications and managed to get the icon to the simulator by clicking the .bar created in eclipse and then go to blackberry tools and then install, but when I click on the icon in the Simulator, he opens says «Initializing please wait...» "then after about 30-45 seconds, the start of blackberry screen appears and then just goes back to the home page.

Someone else this experience? Can you point me in the direction of what can go wrong?

    Thank you

    Ian

Thanks to everyone on this thread and the other thread problem for their suggestions to solve this problem.

I had the same problem, but I would just add something that makes the Simulator works for me...

-Already put 2 carrots on WMware, as suggested elsewhere. Still the Simulator was not for me.

-Put the monitoring high task (for processes in WMware Windows Task Manager)

and finally it worked! Works quite slowly, but I found this on other computers: at least it opens the app!

  • App works on the Simulator, but not on the device

Just try to run the helloworlddemo app compiles fine and works on the Simulator without problem. All I get on the device is an icon of the application that does nothing when clicked.

I had read this might have to do with the version of the JDE is high for the operating system on the device, but I'm running JDE 6.0.0.37 and the operating system on the device is 6.0.0.666

I tried with my own app first, compiled, signed it and get the same result as helloworld, then its certainly some mounted sort of question but I have no idea of what

    Thank you

    Sheldon

Thought of it - was to set the permission of application so that all 3 items were "allow."

  • App is load/absent in the Simulator

I am new to Blackberry programming and that you have just installed the JDE version 6 with the 9700 Simulator. I tried to launch the sample helloworld application and it present or run in the Simulator. Even if I load the application on the file menu, nothing. The Simulator launches as planned and I can navigate through the menus. If I stop the app in the JDE with stop sign, a window entitled "C:\NoSuchFile.java" and it is said in the source code file is not available. Any ideas?

It has been marked as active. I went with the Eclipse/RIM plug on the way and it works fine, then we can close this question, as far as I'm concerned.

  • My App works on the Simulator, but not on a handheld

Using the JDE 4.5 with 4.1.2 MDS Simulator

    Eclipse with JDE

    ---

My app works fine on the simulator using MDS.

The application simply pushes a screen and then creates a thread (an object of type LoadScreenThread) that will take an XML file using HTTP.  The XML file is parsed and then creates a new screen and it grows by calling (from LoadScreenThread): invokeLater with an executable object what method run() calls anti-pop and the specified UiApplication pushScreen.

I tried various things for the last 10 hours and it still does not work.

For the HTTP connection, because I would use MDS to Internet I added the '; '. deviceside = false' suffix.

Could someone tell me please know why it would work fine on the Simulator (MDS) and not on a portable device?

On the handheld, I see the arrows download flicker.  But it drives not only the new screen?

Your device is connected to a MDS (BlackBerry Enterprise Server)?

If it's just your BB private, so it's rather unlikely, and you will very probably connected to BIS. But you have to grant special permissions to RIM using BIS to use other means like the WAP2 gateway.

Take a look at this thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=java_dev&thread.ID=29103

It explains basically everything on the sides of the network connectivity to BlackBerry.

  • Can deploy app in the Simulator, but not to the device

Sorry about this newbie question, but how is it that a simple HelloWorld application compiled in Eclipse runs just fine on the Simulator, but cannot be installed on a 8320 Curve by the Blackberry Desktop Software?

I use the latest version at all.  The message returned by the desktop software is:

! There was an error importing files.
No additional applications can be found. Your file can
contain applications that already exist in the list of applications,
are not compatible for your device, or errors.

However, I am able to deploy the application on the handset using the command line tool:

    C:\Eclipse\plugins\net.rim.ejde\vmTools\JavaLoader.exe -usb load \workspace\HelloTest\deliverables\Standard\5.0.0\HelloTest.jad

This installs the application, which then runs correctly on the device.  I can then reload the list of app on the Blackberry Desktop Software tool and it shows HelloTest, but under the properties of the Application-> dependencies it says:

    "Application not available (net_rim_cldc).

It seems that some dependence crept in the generation of the application and that confuses the desktop tool.  The curve is running 4.5 OS.

Should I just throw this office tool, or how can I clean the application so that it installs correctly?  Obviously, this is just foreplay before building a much broader application, and I wish I had these little glitches will hamper ASASP.

    Thanks for any help!

You should be able to download a plugin 4.5 on the site to update. Go to "help > install new software" to open the screen of software available. If you have not yet done so, add the updated BlackBerry site to your Eclipse configuration:

    1. Click on "available software Sites.
    2. Click on the button 'Add '.
    3. Enter a name such as 'BlackBerry update location' and set the location http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.5/java
    4. Click OK, then OK again to return to the screen of the software available

The 'working with' menu drop-down, select the location of BlackBerry Update (or whatever you named it). Expand the BlackBerry Java plug-in category and you should be able to select an appropriate plug-in version.

  • Two logos app installation to the Simulator

I have a problem nagging, so that I can not find a cause. When I install my application on the simulator it displays the app twice, logo next to each other. The logo is mentioned once in blackberry - tablet.xml and nowhere else.

      convertLogo.png

This could be the cause. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

(I should mention that when I power down the sim card and restart it there are often four or more icons each of them for an application.) They all work)

    Thank you!

When I tried to set up FlashDevelop he did this. I used to install on the Simulator FruitBat. The first time I installed a simulator application there are two icons and when I installed it again it add a. When I tried to uninstall the single icon would leave. I never figure out what was causing it. I had to delete the virtual machine simulator and create a new one to get rid of all the icons. This isn't happen again since I when the use of Flash Builder.

  • App disappears from the Simulator end to increment the version property

I use Eclipse 3.4.2 with JDE 4.5.0 and 8330-JDE Simulator.

My application works well in the Simulator.

I close the Simulator and make only one change, which is to go to the project properties and increase my 11.0.4 to 11.0.5 version number.

I restart the Simulator and my app is no longer on the page program.

I tried this 3 times with exactly the same result. BTW, change the number of return does not help. I had my initial project to restore backup each time.

I'm apparently lost another setting, but I am certainly not change anything else intentionally.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

    Mike

I solved the problem by running clear.bat, then reload the Simulator. I still don't know why it happened, but at least I can now move. Thanks for the effort...

  • My app in the simulator of loading

Complete n00b question - how to run my code in the Simulator?

I use the JDE and I have the program "hello world" just one of the examples.

I create the project and press F5. The Simulator starts and loads of Blackberry OS.

    Now how my code?

    I tried the following:

-File--> load Java program...--> open my .cod file. No effect.

-Find my program in the list of applications. He isn't here.

-throw a NullPointerException in my main() function. Nothing.

Did I miss something blatantly obvious? Thank you.

Open your JDE application and select from the menu: build together and Run

Find the icon for your application among the other icons on the screen of the Simulator and run your application.

If you have not set the app to your app icon - there is a simple square icon for your application. Take a look at app names appear under the icons. And select your application.

  • 4.2 portage app to Storm, rebuilt in JDE 4.7, does not appear in the Simulator

I have a 4.2.1 application that needs the entire screen of the storm and would not run in compatibility mode even when (did even not appear in apps), so I thought I have to rebuild for storm and then perhaps reprogram how he feels entry directional.

For starters, I rebuilt the same code using the JDE 4.7 and said: "GO!"  The simulator of the storm came, but my application was not found.

I tried to launch the Simulator independently and using 'Load Java application' and in charge of the application but the icon does not appear.

Is so different storm of 'ball' berries that I can't even get my app to appear without doing something special?  He appears and works fine in all other simulators.
