  • Lack of consistency between the files in the Organizer 11 items and Finder (mac). Why?

I use elements 11 Organizer and editor of Photoshop elements on a mac (OS X 10.8.2).)

I have problems after I made some changes in the image folder on mac and after move/remove folders directly in multimedia. Now, there is Noah coherence between the visible folders/files in Finder/photos and in my files in multimedia.

An example: directly in the Finder, I created a new folder and moved images of two files that I deleted then. In multimedia, I still see the old structure (no new file - deleted records still includes image files).

I also have the experience of files in the organizer of items that should not exist. When I right click on the folder, the options "reveal in Finder", "Rename the folder" and "Delete the folder" are shaded out and not clickable.

I tried to refresh the organizing items, close and restart the mac - nothing works.

  • Cannot delete/rename/move a file of Windows with a special character

Not so long ago, I used a portable hard drive to pass data between my PC and my MacBook (Running OS X 10.11.1).)

Unfortunately, I was stupid to create an alias of my portable hard drive on the desktop of my Mac by chance, just after my hard drive mounting.

The issue is that I can't even delete/rename/move it. Restart the system does not work, and commands (sudo rm/mv...) since the Terminal does not work either.

When I tried to delete/move the alias file, I got what is like that, "the operation cannot be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code - 50)."

And when you try to rename it with the name of the file 'a', I got what is, "try using a name with fewer characters, or no punctuation.". "

I think that this probably has to do with the name of the hard disk, which has a weird character "NULL", a character. This character is possibly legal in Windows, but illegal in OS X? Or maybe there are some differences between Windows and Mac, interpreting a file name?

    Any help, thanks!

  • Cannot delete or rename a file Word via Windows Explorer

Windows 7 - Word 2007. Modification of a file .doc (compatibility mode) where the word went into a loop where it ignored all the entries. I waited for half an hour and finally had to stop the word with the Task Manager. The file that was opened at the time cannot be deleted or renamed. Same results when the system is booted in safe mode. Message is "the action cannot be completed because the file is opened in Microsoft Office Word. Word is NOT open at this stage. Result even after a reboot and no further action other than the attempt to delete the same message.

If the file is opened in Word and immediately closed with no action of any kind, always the same result, cannot delete the file and the same message is given.

Surprisingly, the file can be copied but try to remove the copy gets the same message.

How can I delete the file?

Hello, Azam, thank you for your interest for my problem

Re: Virus Scan - I use AVG and ran the scan with no problems found

Re: Safe Mode, see my original post. I tried without success

However... I found a way to remove the file. The BACK DEL cmd line feature deletes the file. We have to be careful and make sure that absolutely nothing reference file. The first time I tried to delete the file that I had Windows Explorer open and the file was clicked and the first page was displayed in the preview window and the DEL command failed, noting that the file is open in another application.

When I closed the window of the Explorer and retried the DEL command, it worked!

Unfortunately it took me almost two days to think about trying the DOS command line utility. I won't forget her now.

    Thanks for responding.

You ask if I have problems and I still have another major unresolved problem. It is, however, deliver a MS Word. If this isn't your cup of tea, perhaps you can point one word on it gurus.

I posted this a few days ago on the Office Online site in the area of the floor. There has been no response...

Here is a copy of the message:

    -------------------------------------------

    Word 2007 and Windows 7.

I have a file called v1.doc who was already involved in a situation where while I just changed that word went into a loop, and after waiting half an hour, I had to terminate Word by using the Task Manager.

When I reopened it v1.doc Word seems to have recovered the file correctly, but at the top of the window where the name of the file is indicated, there is now the "(Read-Only) text '."

When I try to save the file Word tells me that as the current file is read-only, I must give the file a new nane what I do: v2.doc and speech issues.

When I opened v2.doc I expected the read-only attribute is missing since the new name has been provided. However, v2.doc file has the same note "read-only" at the top.

Record (using Save as) as v3.doc v2.doc continues the same process.

I can't get rid of the read-only attribute and therefore every change requires a new version of the file.

If we check the file properties in Windows Explorer the read attribute alone is NOT defined.

    ---------------------------------
I could not remove these files are older versions v1.doc, etc that I note above

Any solution to this problem would be highly appreciated.

  • Cannot delete or read a file when its position is changed

    Original title: delete error

When I change the location of the file, the album in windows media Player library cannot be removed or be played. How can I change the new path for the files in the library? How can I remove them (there is no reaction when I right-click and then choose delete)? Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi Kyle,.

This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, all programs->Accessories->run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

(c), select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, all programs->Accessories->run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

    (c) select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Please post back with the State of the question.

  • Cannot delete folders under MY FILES in Organizer-

Running Windows 8.1 and items 12.1.

I tried the solution that I found in this forum about delete or rename the psa.prf file (Organizer folder cannot be deleted).  I have the same situation as this person with 2 folders. These folders do not exist on my computer. I have remove the folders elements but put them in the trash. I uninstalled items several times and reinstalled but 2 files always appear in the Organizer.

Apparently items cannot cope with their loss.  I created new folders and name them even with the same content, but I can remove them yet. (Although the type appears in black now).  I get an error message that the files cannot be deleted.

I do not have a file named psa.prf on my HD. I have a file called psa.  I tried to delete and rename. No luck. There was another preferences file in the folder called APDPeferences Organizer.  I removed that but not luck

I tried to reset the default preferences in the Organizer... but these two folders are still there.

  • Delete only a few files from the recent open those

I would like to delete some files in the recently opened files only leaving the most used in the list, that is, I don't want to delete all the files in the list, the only option I have in the menu. I managed to do that but can't remember how I did. I use PS CC 2015.1.2.

Do not delete the files; Move them to another location. Then, click on the files in the list of recent files. Photoshop will not find files and removes them from the list.

You can then return the files to their original location.

There is no other way to selectively remove the files in the list.

  • Creating a list of missing files in the Organizer?

It's too bad the dialogue box ' reconnecting missing files ' may list missing files in a small window, but there is no option to export the list of full paths as a text file.

Knowing that the list is saved somewhere (probably in the catalog folder), I looked if I could find how information about the missing files are stored in the Organizer. Natural candidates such as the catalog.psexxdb and thumbs.5.cache sqlite databases showed no what, whether by proving that they stored the information.

Then, I had a look at the thumbs.5.cache, which is interesting. It shows that two sizes of thumbnails are stored, and that the criteria for matching are taken so far and the file size.

Now, I compared an optimized version of this file by a reconstituted (I deleted the cache file).

Interestingly, you can see what media_id still have match criteria. I conclude that the other media_id are missing files...

If Photodrawken is looking at this post:

Could you check this assumption and see if a sqlite query can retrieve the list of missing media?

It will be interesting to see if the next version of PSE has better handling of missing files... Seems that LR handles this problem much better.

    Edit:

The field 'status' in the thumbnail_info_table of the thumbs.5.cache database seems to be set to '2' for the missing files.

    Here we go, using Database.Net:

    1. Connect to thumb.5.cache.
    2. Right-click on thumbnail_info_table and select "Script as...". Create '.
    3. Use the Edit tool... Save as to save it in any convenient directory as
      thumbnail_info_table_create. SQL
    4. Right click on thumbnail_info_table and select "Script as...". Data (Inserts)... File, save on this same practice directory as
      thumbnail_info_table_data. SQL
(In the Export Options dialog box, simply click on 'OK'.)
    5. Disconnect from thumb.5.cache.
    6. Close all open applications.
    7. Connect to catalog.pse10db.
    8. Use the Edit tool... Open and that
      thumbnail_info_table_create. SQL
      file.
    9. This query will open in a new query window - click the 'run '.
    10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to the
      thumbnail_info_table_data. SQL
      file.
    11. Click on the button "New query" and paste this query into the editing window:

    SELECT full_filepath

    OF media_table

    WHERE id IN)

    SELECT media_id

    OF thumbnail_info_table

    WHEN STATUS = '2 '.

    )

    ORDER BY full_filepath

    12. click on the button 'run '.

You can click on the "export" button to save the results to a file in the format of your choice.  Here, I used the option "HTML":

  • Problems of trying to reconnect files in the Organizer PE10

I have PE10 on a Windows 7 computer.  I have a library of 11 000 images.  Somehow last weekend, the catalog converted the drive letter on all the paths of all image files to the wrong letter.  Otherwise, the paths and the file names are fine.

So I'll try to reconnect files.  Being cautious, I start with the selection of multiple files and do file-> reconnecting-> missing file.  However, it does not work.  I did it on groups of 10-15 at this point. He began a laborious search through my files in directory.  About 25 to 30% of the time, PE10 fails.  I get a dialog box error pop - up that says "Elements 10 organizing has stopped working." with a single button that says "close the program".  When it does fail, it will at the end of the search (I guess) and then appears the window to manually search for a file.  If it fails to find the correct file (s), but in the manual window, I can easily find the right file and it reconnects immediately.

I'm hesitant to try file-> reconnecting-> all missing files.  Reason: On the third group, I did above, I'm arrogant and tried to make 1000 files at a time.  It was the first time, it bombed, and he trashed the dates attributed to some of my files.

Therefore, it is a nightmare.  I could reconnect manually, but I have 11 000 files in 100 of files - it would take a lot of time.  How can I reconnect to work properly?

I don't have a backup that is recent enough to just do a restore.

    Thank you

    Bill

    Here is the procedure:

    1. Use Windows Task Manager to 'Process' tab to kill all processes running Adobe or PhotoshopElements.  We don't want to try anything else to access the database.
    2. Use Database.Net to connect you to your 'real' PSE catalog file
    3. Run this SQL query:

      UPDATE media_table
      SET volume_id = "184869."
      WHERE volume_id = "80453.

Which should return a result of 10 302 rows affected.

    4. (Optional) You can confirm the results of this query:

      SELECT id_volume
      count (*)
      OF media_table
      GROUP BY id_volume

and it should return a line of 1.8 K count.

    5. Run this query:

      DELETE
      OF volume_table
      ID WHERE = '80453.

    6. You can confirm the result of running this query:

      SELECT * from volume_table

and he should now display only the correct drives and paths.

That's all.  Deconnecter disconnect the database close Database.Net, cross your fingers and start the Organizer.  Do a check by selecting several images at random and choosing 'change in elements '.  If they open OK in the editor, you did it!

  • How to import the 12 different files of the Organization in a single file still do DVD

I am trying to create a DVD with 12 different lessons on the subject.  I created 12 files in Premiere Pro CS4 (each is a slide show of the lessons with narration) and I want to bring in a single file again.  Can I send a file to still via dynamic links - but when I open another file organization and try to send it in the same folder of still - it deletes the file that I put in there before.  Maybe I'm going about this all wrong - I don't really know.  Help, please.

Your on the right track of chandler,

    Export your settings seem correct,

Although the only thing that you must be careful when you have media encoder is to make sure that the following settings are there for your support.

As you do not compressed, that is fine.

ensure that his game for NTSC, the order of the fields he should first use the upper field (its likely that all that was created when you click on uncompressed anyway)

Once media are exported on you can import it in again using the option 'Import as Time-Line', it will create a media file in the project as a calendar file with the same name (different icon so)

You will then be able to link your buttons with these deadlines in yet.

This should be all peachy then!

If I double click on the file in Windows Explorer, they open in the Version of Quicktime 7.

Thumbnails for files appear in windows Explorer when I navigate to the folder they are in.

I selected an EPS file, choose "export to the new file" and the file I created by the practice which showed a generic Quicktime icon without the thumbnail in windows Explorer. " When I double click on this file it plays correctly in Quicktime format.

Select "Update thumbnail" has no effect.

Thumnails are corrctly .mpg, .mov and .mp4 files types list.
