Creating a list of missing files in the Organizer?

It's too bad the dialogue box ' reconnecting missing files ' may list missing files in a small window, but there is no option to export the list of full paths as a text file.

Knowing that the list is saved somewhere (probably in the catalog folder), I looked if I could find how information about the missing files are stored in the Organizer. Natural candidates such as the catalog.psexxdb and thumbs.5.cache sqlite databases showed no what, whether by proving that they stored the information.

Then, I had a look at the thumbs.5.cache, which is interesting. It shows that two sizes of thumbnails are stored, and that the criteria for matching are taken so far and the file size.

Now, I compared an optimized version of this file by a reconstituted (I deleted the cache file).

Interestingly, you can see what media_id still have match criteria. I conclude that the other media_id are missing files...

If Photodrawken is looking at this post:

Could you check this assumption and see if a sqlite query can retrieve the list of missing media?

It will be interesting to see if the next version of PSE has better handling of missing files... Seems that LR handles this problem much better.

Edit:

The field 'status' in the thumbnail_info_table of the thumbs.5.cache database seems to be set to '2' for the missing files.

Here we go, using Database.Net:

  1. Connect to thumb.5.cache.
  2. Right-click on thumbnail_info_table and select "Script as...". Create '.
  3. Use the Edit tool... Save as to save it in any convenient directory as
    thumbnail_info_table_create. SQL
  4. Right click on thumbnail_info_table and select "Script as...". Data (Inserts)... File, save on this same practice directory as
    thumbnail_info_table_data. SQL
(In the Export Options dialog box, simply click on 'OK'.)
  5. Disconnect from thumb.5.cache.
  6. Close all open applications.
  7. Connect to catalog.pse10db.
  8. Use the Edit tool... Open and that
    thumbnail_info_table_create. SQL
    file.
  9. This query will open in a new query window - click the 'run '.
  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to the
    thumbnail_info_table_data. SQL
    file.
  11. Click on the button "New query" and paste this query into the editing window:

SELECT full_filepath

OF media_table

WHERE id IN)

SELECT media_id

OF thumbnail_info_table

WHEN STATUS = '2 '.

)

ORDER BY full_filepath

12. click on the button 'run '.

You can click on the "export" button to save the results to a file in the format of your choice.  Here, I used the option "HTML":

full_filepath

I have a very large catalog and there are now a few hundred missing files because of me, moving or deleting them out of the elements.

  • Lack of consistency between the files in the Organizer 11 items and Finder (mac). Why?

I use elements 11 Organizer and editor of Photoshop elements on a mac (OS X 10.8.2).)

I have problems after I made some changes in the image folder on mac and after move/remove folders directly in multimedia. Now, there is Noah coherence between the visible folders/files in Finder/photos and in my files in multimedia.

An example: directly in the Finder, I created a new folder and moved images of two files that I deleted then. In multimedia, I still see the old structure (no new file - deleted records still includes image files).

I also have the experience of files in the organizer of items that should not exist. When I right click on the folder, the options "reveal in Finder", "Rename the folder" and "Delete the folder" are shaded out and not clickable.

I tried to refresh the organizing items, close and restart the mac - nothing works.

    Can someone help me please?

  • Responsive HTML5 with mergedprojects, creates a hyperlink to a file in the project html parent to a child html file and it does not work! The child has with the parent TOC, but need to tie. Help, please!

    Hi group!

I have a brilliant parent project that serves as a springboard for other projects. Users click a component of software they want and are redirected to a page with a list of all the documentation available for this component. Click on the name of a document and access - a lot of PDF files. BUT I also wish they were able to tie the online help for the component. After having read up on the link through / between projects, I knew that I needed to create a parent project (for the page intro and links brilliant) and projects for children (for software components).

    THEN

I created a parent sensitive HTML5 project and the projects of two children. I compiled the parent to create mergedprojects files, and then open the projects children and collected to the appropriate mergedprojects folder. I then created a hyperlink to the file list html documentation in the project parent towards the child file software component html (output folder and start page [which is the same as the default theme]) and the link does not work! The child and its table of contents appears in the parent TOC so topics are here, but I can't link to them. If necessary, I can send screenshots.

Where I am dorking this place?

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

    Scottie 'needs help' gear

What is your relationship like? And how did you create the link?

A typical reactive merged help is structured as follows:

    index.htm (Master home page)

    mergedProjects

    childName

    index.htm (starting page for child)

A child from the index.htm page link would look like this:... /... index.htm

  • It created history list.xml InCopy files

We have successfully used an InDesign to InCopy workflow here but have had some mysterious problems happen today. An external editor (new InCopy user) has somehow created these files in records that she worked on "history list.xml". And now, she can not see records of the story for the rest of the documents, these 05-08, that she does not yet noted.

Any ideas on where his working method could go wrong? We went through the method with it and can not see the enormous problems, she has been right click on boxes to verify stories that is not how we do it, we usually do them all at once). And is anyone know if I can simply delete these xml files? The only person who can see the rest of the stories (chapters 05-08, is the designer who created the files.

    Screen shot 2012-05-14 at 12.30.05 PM.png

    Hello!

The file history list are common... they are generated (if I remember) when a user renames a story in the assignments Panel (such as rename a layer or a paragraph style). This does not change the name of the story ARE related, it is more than a "cosmetic" function easier to locate some stories in the inside Panel ID and IC, especially when the ID is automatically generate history names when exporting.  For example, you can change name of history in the Panel of the assignment of '05-AcmeLayoutABC-oneday"to"Headline ".

There are other non disturbing XML files that can be generated in the workflow, as if an InCopy user changes the order of the stories in the history/closet by dragging their story gray bars up and down. Basically these files keep track of these kinds of changes so that everyone working on the project see stories aesthetically is renamed in the Panel / new order of stories in the history/closet.

Nothing wrong with a right-click to check both.

I never heard of file history list making invisible stories, but yes, you should be able to delete them without problem. I'd probably sure that nobody checked stories from the INDD file and all the stories are updated, first and then close the INDD file, before you delete if.

  • Missing files in the pod project manager

Yesterday I installed RH8 HTML on my new Win 7 computer.  I then copied all my files associated with a specific project over my old Win XP machine.  When I use Windows Explorer to look at a list of all .htm files, I copied, they are all there.  However, when I open the project in RH8 on my new computer and display a list of the .htm files that are in a particular folder in the project manager pod, some of the .htm files are missing.  Curiously, if I open the table of contents for the project and click a topic that refers to one of the 'missing' files, RH8 opens the file and I can modify it in the usual way.  To me, that indicates that the file is really where it is supposed to be and RH8 can find it.  However, the file name is absent the pod project manager.  In addition, when I want to insert a hyperlink, the file name is missing from the list of .htm files, which I can link.  It is a problem, obviously.

I should note that HR on my old computer is version 8.0.1.204 and HR on my new computer is 8.0.0.203.  Hard to believe that would be the issue, but thought I should mention it.  In addition, files that are not have similar names to files that are not.  For example, reportCheckDataMailmerge is absent, but the reportCheckDataMailmergeSee is not.

I would be grateful for all the suggested fixes.

    Hello

Try clicking on the view menu. You should see the option there. First of all, make sure that the pod project manager has the focus.

    See you soon... Rick

  • create a list or a container for the States of a statemachine

    Hello

I'm working on an application where many different types of devices will be put into a test set-up for Board level testing.  Depending on the type of Board, I need to create an ordered list of all necessary tests for the device.  I have a state machine and a single State for each of the tests and try to figure out how to create a list of tests for the specific device.  I want to have control in each of the States to remove the first element of the list and then take the next value and he lead the shift register used to go from one State to the other.  This should allow the state machine switch to the appropriate State based on the type of device and its sequence of necessary test.

It should be with a table?  Is there some containers easier to work with this use case?  I need a container that will allow me to easily add between 5 and 30 names of State (based on the needs of the unit type) and easily remove or increment a pointer to the next State in the container.

    Thank you

    Gary

    Hi Gary,.

an array of string or "enum" comes to mind. You can use it for the selection of States.

    You have to transfer data?

Another way would be a queue. You can read the States with the enqueue function.

    It may be useful

  • Missing files from the Installation of Windows XP disc

Hello, I got an installation of Windows XP Professional and the installation disc, 3 files are missing, even though I don't remember the name of the files.

the laptop has been pre-installed with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and is a Compaq CQ50.

    Hi ragingsoul,

Missing files on a CD, most likely a bad CD or a bad CD player. Try an another XP CD if the same thing happens, so it's most likely the COR, otherwise it's the CD

Also, I came across a nasty virus.  I had removed it and said that it would be a good idea to enjoy recovery.  Instead, I reinstalled Windows XP entirely from my original disc.  The problem is that during the installation he repeated that the modem driver was missing, then something on file synaptics... all these things that I assumed were on the original drive, but he kept asking me to specify its location.  I just said it cancel and it finished installing without these elements.  Now how can I go into windows and find and install missing files, it needs.

If your computer is a laptop, the Synaptics device is almost certainly the touchpad.  The absence of a touchpad driver should not stop you start in Windows - although the touchpad does not work.

Similarly, the absence of the modem driver should not stop you start in Windows - even if it will affect your series to use the modem to connect to the Internet.

If your computer has a recovery partition, the driver files may be on that partition.  If not, check if the provided computer manufacturer separated a CD with drivers, etc..  If you don't have another CD or a recovery partition, you will need to download the drivers from the Internet.

You can download a generic www.synaptics.com/support/drivers touchpad driver.  In the meantime, you can connect and use a regular mouse (which will be compatible with the generic mouse drivers Win XP).

However, it will be much better to get the specific drivers for your touchpad and the modem.  If you have an OEM computer, you may be able to download the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the computer.  Otherwise, you must identify the manufacturer and model specific to the modem and the device "synaptics" numbers Then, search the Internet for the appropriate drivers.

  • Missing files in the document library

    Hello!

So I got a few files in the folder my documents. I have them accidentally deleted/removed from the library and the library folder, so that the files are missing.

Is there a possibility that I could get back them?

    Thank you!

    I recommend you do this:

    1. Download, install and run the Restore of System Explorer. It's free.
    2. Set up a System Restore Point that is earlier than the loss of your files.
    3. Carefully review the records and files under \Users\Edgars. If or when you find the missing files, copy them to your usual files. If there are other files such as \HolidayPictures, review them too.
    4. Treats this event as a sharp reminder that important files should always be stored on two independent media, usually on the internal drive and an external hard drive in a USB enclosure.
  • Missing files since the last update - Windows 7

Windows Update (19 updates) the 09/09/2015.  First of all, I have a few games that I play in my free time. Since the update I can only play multiplayer, single player won't work for all games. These games are CoD1, CoD2 and IGI2.

I restored from a backup of the previous day and all games work properly again. When I turned off the computer, he decided to reinstall all updates 19 again. After reboot, once more the games did not work properly, unable to play solo, but still able to play several players. But this isn't the end of my problems.
I am a Web Designer and when you work on a model, I noticed that when you view it in my browser, Firefox, IE and Chrome, the model seemed as if she had some CSS files, although the CSS files were present. I tried other models and got the same results. I started to look through my files and found that, in each model (212 models in all) of them did not have records of js where javascript files. Fortunately I had compressed them all and zip files were safe.

However, I started thinking that my single player games does not and all of my missing my model js files can be linked. All other programs appear to be unaffected and working properly.

I used some malware/spyware, MS Security Essentials and McAfee Security Suite programs and found no problem. If I restore from a backup, MS was updated just once more will overwrite it whenever I shut my computer off, causing the same problems.

No idea why my games single player stops working and why all my js file (javascript files) became absent from my models?

You are right Tony Gatlin.  It is KB3086255 security update.

I uninstalled all updates of September 9 and reinstalled each update (in numerical order KB) and checked to see if COD2 solo work after each installation.  He failed on 3086255.

The description of this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086255 update includes under "Additional information" the astonishing statement that: -.

"After you install this security update, some programs may not work. (For example, some video games not work.) To work around this problem, you can temporarily enable the service for the driver, secdrv.sys performing some commands, either by editing the registry. "

He's going to tell how to do it manually.

I think that's what we call a function of ironic software.  I'm not impressed by MS today.
