Cannot display HTML thumbnails in the Explorer of Windows VISTA

I used to be able to view thumbnails of html in XP, but since I bought a computer with VISTA on it, now I just get the big E, Solution Explorer icon. I have 300 files and I don't want to have to click through them to find the one I want.  Each file has a photo on the page, so it was easy to identify visually.

How can I restore this ability without having to remove VISTA and go back to XP?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Mayonia,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

You shouldn't have a problem doing. Make sure the size of the icons is at least medium to see. Also check to make sure the thumbnails is lit. This tutorial can help out you.  Please let me know if you this has corrected the problem or if you are still having problems.

Why the property window is not extensible to see all the info and the options open to it? I thought I read somewhere that the font size must be reduced, but I do not see an item in the list that applies to "windows properties" in the area of advanced appearance settings/personalization aspect.

  • How to add "Add to selection windows media" to the context menu of the Explorer in Windows Vista 32/WMP 11?

Hello. I am currently looking for a way to queue files flv and mp4 in WMP 11 in Windows Vista. I used to be able to do with Shark007 Windows Vista installed Codec, but I recently replaced it with a combination of ffdshow, Haali Media Splitter and open source Flash Video Splitter; This combination has been recommended as being superior to my old codec pack.

Copy-paste all below into Notepad and save it as FLVMP4Enqueue.reg. Then double-click on this file to add it to the registry. After that, you may have to reassociate the FLV/MP4 files with WMP, via Control Panel - default programs .

  • Bug? Print several files from the Explorer of Windows 7.

When I try to print multiple files of a directory displayed in the Explorer of Windows 7, the print command of the context menu is available ONLY when the selected for printing files are ALL visible on the screen. For example, if I select 5 contiguous files in the list view, and they are all visible on the screen, then I can print all 5 files from the print command from the context menu. But if I select 30 contiguous files in the list, and only 25 of these files are visible on the screen, then the print command disappears in the context menu. Is this a bug in Windows 7?

Other reports in the forums, there seems to be a limit of 15 files, but I didn't know he documented by Microsoft.  I don't think it's important that all files are visible on the screen.

I can't install the update for Windows vista (KB2718704), a mode without failure or after clean window reboot.

    What should I do?

    Hello

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

    Hey Hashiriya Allan

Microsoft licenses part of it is that a single license is for a single installation
You can not have vista installed on two laptops using the same product key
and if vista was preinstalled on your old laptop this is an oem license and cannot be transferred to another machine

  • You want to search ONLY the names of files in the Explorer of Windows 7?

I want to usually just looking for a word "in a file name& record' - and can often give a date of the range. In the Explorer of Windows 7, as soon as I type the word, I get all the files that contain the word in the content, as well.  How can I have search only the file or folder name?

I also don't use 'my documents' or 'libraries '... I create my own subfolders - and usually on a stick... disc so I don't really understand "crawler" or if it is relevant to how I organize my files.

I miss the Windows XP search feature in the Explorer of Windows 7!

No need for anything that it is complicated.  Simply type what you are looking for.  If it's in the name of the file, these results will be returned first, above all results corresponding to your searchinside of the file term.  Easy.

Without indexing places such as stick readers can always be sought, but take a little more time looking for (like XP).

The Centro (and almost all PalmOS devices) do not have this capacity, built in.

There are several third party programs, you can buy (and a free only).   Look for the card reader or Card Export II.
