  Acrobat 9 is quite old and not longer supported. The last Windows OS that could use Acrobat 9 has Windows 7 and Acrobat had to have all updates applied.

  You need to upgrade to Acrobat DC.

  4. Click to clear the Load Startup items check box. Check The Load System Services and to use Original BOOT. INI are checked.
  5. Click the Services tab.
  6. Click to select the hide all Microsoft Services check box.
  7. Click disable all, and then click OK.
  8. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

  Run the installer for Adobe Reader

  Restart the computer.

  You can "try" to save the pdf first attachment before opening it in Reader, but most of the time, that doesn't make a difference. It will confirm that the file is corrupted by email if and only not by a process involved in open it from your e-mail client.

  After that I don't know what happened.  All my desktop icons are now Adobe icons in place.   that is The Firefox icon is now replaced by an icon of Adobe.  It is the same for several other desktop program icons. (QuickTime, chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.)

  When I try to open the program by clicking on it, I get the above message.

  I went to the site of help from Adobe and read a complex string of instructions, including

  words like '% pdf', "DWROD" and, for me, other nonsensical words and phrases.

  Needless to say that the instructions were no help.

  I said all that to say this.  I want that my computer back.  What should I do to do?

  Please try to run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of the reader.

  Then, restart your machine and install the latest version of the player from here:

  Which brings me to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install.  Click on install.   Install the valves with the error: the resource you are trying to use is on a network that is not available.  Adobe installation fails.   Help, please.

  Solved. Uninstalled old rest Adobe program, then was able to download the free Adobe Reader.

When I click the icon 'sign', I'm not get 'add signature' or 'add the initials' menu drop-down options, I see only the previous signatures.  I must have got to create signatures that I have previously, but now I do not understand.  I tried to reinstall the drive, but nothing has changed.  I looked at the preferences to create a signature and don't see a place to put in operation.  Please help, this is driving me crazy!  Thank you.

  Once you click on the 'Sign' icon to the title of the fill tool & sign, just click on icon to clear the previous signatures or initials.

  

  After deletion, once again see you the label as Add Signature / add initials where you can choose to type, draw, or fix the image of the signature to the PDF document.
