  • Cannot find tools

Cannot find 'Tools' on my firefox start page

Hello, your question has been posted from a Windows PC but also marked as a question about the new Firefox OS for mobile phones. Let's see if I can cover those two.

    (1) Windows

You have the choice of menu systems: the classic bar (File, Edit, View...) and the orange Firefox button leading to a compact two-column menu.

    • If you view the orange Firefox button, you can press the Alt key or the F10 key to display the classic menu bar temporarily.
    • To enable the classic menu on and outside bar, you can right click on an empty area of the tab bar or the new tab button ('+') and use the short list of toolbar to show and hide the menu bar and toolbars various.
    • If you do not see the toolbars, you might be using full screen. The F11 key will toggle between normal view and full screen.

    (2) Firefox OS

Probably, you need to open the settings app.

    Hello!

It's happened since I got a virus a months ago who was preventing the computer to start. She came back from the repair shop and it begins again now. But after a few hours of using Firefox, this message pop up at random:

    Example: http://www.risingroad.com/foxhound/faq/images/Windows%20cannot%20find%20firefox.jpg

and Firefox still work after this message appears. I already uninstalled and installed new Firefox completely, and the message still appears upward. What this mean and is it harmful to the computer?

    I'm on Windows 8

I had the pop up ads sensation can cause the problem and talked about it to the engineer in computer science from my father. It installs Malewarebytes and there was indeed still a maleware by repair men left. The difference was, Chrome to view the full announcement page while Firefox may have in maintaining security to block this kind of page, and the result was the error message. (I didn't know that because it happened to me on my computers to the precedents and even Firefox used to show me the ad then) Thank you for warning me.

  • Cannot find the menu 'Tools' by clicking on 'Firefox '!

I can not find the usual tool menu of choices for the location of download etc..
You say to click on 'Firefox' and select 'Tools', but I can't find the menu familiar in the options?

I use Windows 7 Home Premium fully implemented to date.

"Firefox" button > Options (2nd column) > Options
    instead of tools > Options

If you search for items added by the extension to the menus then the illusions of the the "Firefox" button becomes immediately visible.

You can make Firefox 7.0.1 look to Firefox 3.6. *, see numbered items 1-10 of the next topic difficulty Firefox 4.0 UI toolbar, problems (make Firefox 4.0 to 8.0, resemble 3.6). If you make changes, you must be aware of what has changed and what it takes to use changed or missing features.

  • Error message "the system cannot find the environment option that was entered.

I'm having a problem to launch programs on my system. I have Windows vista. Whenever I try to run any program on my computer, I get an error message that says: "the system could not find the environment option that was entered." He won't let me do things like: update of the parental control settings, System Restore, uninstall programs, install downloads, run antivirus software, ect. I tried to use the advice given in this forum without success. The system won't let me use the run as Administrator option and no longer recognizes my account administrator. I've lost my Vista boot drive, so I can't use it to repair the computer. I am at the end of the roll and can't not think of anything else to do, but my computer reset it back to default settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a recovery disk (unless you have an already or that you have an Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc) using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning like software: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and of course a blank CD.  This recovery disk will allow you to do the Startup Repair and system restore. You may need to change the BIOS to do the CD drive first in the boot sequence.  It was boot the PC and wait for the screen where it shows the F key to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the change, save your work and exit.  Insert the CD into the drive and restart.  When you are prompted, press a key to start the PC.

Try a system restore to a point BEFORE this problem started to occur.  Here's how: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If this does not work, try an earlier point or two.

If this does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc or your recovery disk. Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.

If you don't have a floppy, you can make a recovery disk to http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ using a burning like software: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and of course a blank CD.  This recovery file is just as good as one that comes with Vista, but it can't do a reinstall.  You can do a system restore or startup repair or even use the command prompt.  Boot from the CD may be your only option, because you are not an administrator and therefore cannot do these functions in normal mode.

Let's see if it works before moving on to other troubleshooting options.

Good luck and I hope this works!

  • Cannot find tools on the thunderbird page

I bought a new laptop and cannot connect to my email account password does not work. I need to change the password and everything I read says to go to tools and find change password, I can't find the tools on the task bar of Thunderbird.

As for many Windows applications that hide the menu bar, you can usually enable it by pressing Alt or by pressing the F10 key. Do any of these work for you?

  • Cannot open the menu options

I never had any problems using Firefox before. but now, everytime I open a new tab, my pinned pages have disappeared. It now says:

    The address is not valid

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).

and when I try to open the options in the upper right corner, it says the same thing.

I tried restarting Firefox with Add-ons disabled, it still does not.

everything works fine, I'm browsing the internet very well. It's just the tab and the options that does not work. Help, please. Thank you

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep the problems, and then create a new profile.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

  • Cannot find tool elipse

New to After Effects. But I have a lot of experience with Photoshop, so I am familiar with many tools.  Been big fact, but now I'm trying to switch between the Rectangle tool and a few other options such as a rounded Rectangle or Ellipse. I tried right-clicking, but I have no options. The "rectangle" tool seems to be the only tool available. Is this a bug? Or I'm just having trouble finding it?

Click and hold or refer to keyboard shortcuts. When you can't understand something try typing "help ellipse" in the search field in the upper right of the app. There are a lot of available community resources.

  • How can I create a shortcut to a Tools menu option?

I use the clone stamp and the Brush tool on a regular basis. Each of these tools provides a Mode: the drop-down list to select from the menu bar.

The drop-down options menu I used more frequently are lighten and darken. I would like to create shortcuts to lighten and darken, such as Ctrl + Shift + L (Leclerc) and Ctrl + Shift + D (darken).

The menu in the tools Panel bar does not seem to have a selection list in the keyboard shortcuts dialog box.

    How to create these shortcuts.

    Thank you in advance,

    Jim

They are already there.  The same shortcuts that affect the layer blending modes when other tools are selected, do exactly the same thing when the brush; Clone, correction, blur, sharpness and Smudge Tools are selected.  (I forgot the gradient tool)

So, with the move tool or a bounding box selected

Shift Alt + selected blend modes scrolls down

Shift Alt - scroll picked up blend modes

You can go directly to certain modes of mixing with the first letters

    Shift Alt n = Normal

    Shift Alt m = multiply

    Shift s Alt = screen

Now select the brush, or one of the tools that have blending modes, and the same keys will do the same job for the blending mode of this tool.
