Cannot get necessary updates for windows 8.1
Hello
I'm having a problem updating Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows.
I ran the 8.1 Troubleshooting and it says I need to update KB 2871389 and KB 2917499 but when I go in the settings of your laptop, it says that I have to restart my computer in order to install the updates, but when I do and when I click on the update 8.1 in the store , he said still other things are needed.
Could you please help?
Thank you
Hi Terra,.
How did you install Windows 8 on your computer (new installation or upgrade facility)?
I suggest you follow the methods below and check if this may help solve the problem.
Method 1
I suggest you to update all the latest device drivers in Device Manager.
To update driver follow these steps.
- Right click on the Start button and click on Device Manager.
- Display all devices on one.
- Right-click on the device driver and click on Update.
Method 2
If the problem persists, I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state, then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1.
Setting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
Note: After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Method 3
If the problem persists, I you suggest to uninstall the Antivirus software and then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1. Check if it helps.
Important
(1) Please be sure to re - install Antivirus software after upgrade to Windows 8.1.
(2) antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable or uninstall your antivirus software. If you need to temporarily disable or uninstall it to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled or uninstalled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Get back to us with the results, we will be happy to help you further.

Cannot download an update for Windows Vista (KB2446708) security get 66A error code
Please help as I have tried several times to download this update.
Never had a problem before downloading updates.
Oddly enough, when I checked the link to the appropriate forum I noticed the post following with potential answer.

The following has worked for me. Went to programs and features in Control Panel. Chosen Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and click Uninstall/change. Through the option "repair". The update could then be applied successfully.
See also the following other options should it above doesn't work.
I hope this helps. Think of it as a golden of the Easter Bunny egg :)
