Cannot install Flash 11 in Firefox

Hi all.

After several attempts of frustrating to get flash install, I wanted to post here to try to get assistance.

Im running Windows 7 Pro SP1, 64-bit and try installing flash on Firefox 7.0.1.  I can download the installer from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and it allows me to download a file named install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih.exe.  I tried to run this file under my normal account and as an administrator.  It will be run the file, bring up the UAC dialog, and then that's it.  There is no other box popping up, no progress bar or whatever it is in the same direction.  However, if I open the Task Manager this process is still running, but does some cycles CPU.  It shows also that the process of his running the installer as a 32-bit (indicated by the * 32 at the end of it in the Task Manager) if relevant.

Nothing happens, and I did not flash.

I purged my temp folder to remove the additional installation files copied it, I launch the program uninstall and rebooted several times and no dice.

I'd appreciate any insight really and/or assistance that can be offered by anyone.  I'm happy to make an additional contribution if this can help get this resolved.

Thank you!

My apologies for cluttering the jury!

After validation, one of the sons 'more like this' which displayed on the right side of the screen was my exact problem, and I just follow the link.

The answer was in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550

Developer of people, please understand why your main download link doesn't like my machine!

  • Cannot install Flash Player for Firefox

I am running Windows XP it with SP4.  IE and the latest version of Firefox are installed.

In IE and Firefox, trying to install Flash Player with the standard binding, I get an error message in a small window opens, the title "getPlus + (R): error," text 'Cannot load a GUI,' box 'OK '.  I got this by locating a stand-alone installation for IE, who uploaded a file to install it on my computer.  However, this does not work in Firefox, even when access to this link from Firefox.  The file runs, but Flash Player still shows as not installed in Firefox.

I can't find any program separate stand-alone installers for Flash Player for Firefox.

This error seems to be generated by the Adobe getPlus product installer.  My thought was to uninstall the Adobe installer and try again.  However, the Adobe installer appears in the list of installed programs, accessible via the Control Panel, BUT by clicking on the button to uninstall the program does nothing.  The program is still present.  I can't find a location for the installer from Adobe on my hard drive.

Hi Chris, I'm very well know the DLM/getPlus/getPlusPlus/NOS. :-) I see that you are too much now :-) Most users have no problem removing DLM to Add/Remove/programs and features through Control Panel.

There are a number of things to check. Using IE, go to tools > Internet Options. Click settings, and then view the objects. There that anything appearing on the above?

When you tried to delete the DLM, were using the administrator account?

Now, using the start SEARCH, enter in the "part of the name of" gp.ocx and note where it is and right click and delete it. Then, run a SEARCH on gp.inf and do the same thing.

Did you uninstall Flash Player using the Adobe uninstaller program then try again to install FP in FF?

I have some info Add ' l on the DLM, etc and will try to get it.

    Thank you

  • Cannot install Flash Player as "only one version of this application can run.

I had problems with Flash Player earlier today and decided to uninstall it (from Windows 7) and reinstall from scratch.  I uninstalled and tried to reinstall it but now I get the following message appears: cannot install Flash Player as "only one version of this application can run" I tried to uninstall I checked to see if there was still a program to install but it does not exist. I checked my files in Windows and there are several files called Install_Flashplayer _16x32... files. I assume that they are created whenever I tried to install Flash Player.  I thought to delete many files install FlashPlayer but decided to ask for help before taking this step.

    Browser: Firefox 35.0.1

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    64 bit OS

I managed to install Flash Player and it works. I deleted all the installation files except one who did not want to be deleted, then I started to install Flash Player, until I got the message about the conflicting demands. I then used the Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Task Manager, then closed all tasks except the Flash Player one. Flash Player finished the installation. Then, I opened a TV Player in Firefox and was able to play a program that requires a Flash Player.

Why don't I have to use the Task Manager to close applications. I don't remember the last time that I used it ut think that it was a year ago, when my computer would not shut.

  • Cannot install flash, using the latest version of Firefox

    Hi computer noob here.

Operating system Windows Vista 16 b, browser Firefox V 3.6.23

Im having some problems with adobe at the moment, first when I tried to install flash on a friends lap top now have downloaded a DLM, then when it is installed it does nothing, I still have no flash, then I come back to adobe and try to download again and he always tells me that I need to install a missing plug-in so it can download... when I click on 'install missing plug' it says Adobe cannot Download the missing file, it gives me the option to download it manually but when I try that it asks me to find a program to open it with? It seems that something does not work properly, please help! Why can't I just go to adobe with Firefox, click on download and restart my browser, it would be so much easier lol

Second problem, the Windows XP operating system

Second problem im seen last week is I can not connect to adobe to update my adobe reader software, it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the server and it stops timing? Is there a problem with installing more recent readers because I tried to update another friends comp too and I had the same problem

    Thanks for the help

Flash Player: do not use the DLM - it causes no trouble!  Download executable installation programs from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

Adobe Reader: I don't know why the Updater does not; Download the latest version of the player directly from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.4.0/en_US/AdbeRdr940_en_US.exe

  • Lion 10.7 8.0 Firefox cannot install Flash Player

I'm having all sorts of trobule with sites... my IGoogle page and on and on and just happened to see this evening that Firefox has guess I got the Flash Player. I had downloaded a week ago. (osx .dmg file) Tonight, I downloaded 3 times and installed 3 times and uninstalled 3 times. I double click the .dmg, double-click the icon of installated, agree, leave or choose Firefox.   He moved to 100%.  It indicates that the installation is successful, but then I go to applications or search the entire computer and I see is to install Flash!  I download the right pair?  I am a basic Mac user and an old lady and I'm completely lost.

Just re-read your answer and you DO not restart the computer.  You can go to the HD?  PS download (png), that I had said not intel he said osx.

  • Cannot install Flash for Firefox

I was invited today by Firefox to install the latest version of Flash. Unfortunately, the installer says I have not sufficient permissions for the file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll. If I understand correctly, that would mean I don't have administrative permissions, but I do. I'm on the only account on this computer, an administrator account.

I downloaded the uninstall program to try to start over. He uninstalled successfully, but when I tried to install, I get the same error. Now, I have no flash at all for Firefox.

I tried to use IE instead and it worked perfectly. I can view flash content in IE now fine. Unfortunately, I guess I have to install for Firefox separately, because I can't always display the flash content in Firefox.

I use the latest version of Firefox on Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone have an idea what to do?

OK, it seems that this file is really 'stuck '.  There is only one way to get rid of it: use a file unlocker.  Google search for "file unlocker" and you will find a tool that helped me a few times in the past to get rid of stuck locked files or others.

Let me know if you need some help with that.

Once you get rid of this file, try the install again.

  • Tried 6 times to install Flash player on Firefox. Having read all your H ELP. When I install, I get a notice stating that I managed to install, but that's not true. I disengaged adblock and antivirus. What should do?

Flash Player works on Internet Explorer, but not Firefox. I am trying to install
    Flash 10.3...

There are two different versions of Flash, ActiveX for IE version and the version of the plugin used by most other browsers.

    1. download the Setup file of Plugin Flash version here:

    Adobe Flash - Plugin version.

    Save it to your desktop.

    2. close Firefox using file > exit

Then check the Task Manager > processes tab to make sure that firefox.exe is closed.

    {XP: Ctrl + Alt + Delete, Vista: Shift + Ctrl + ESC process tab =}

    3. then run the Flash configuration from your desktop file.

    4. run Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

    • On Vista and Windows 7, you may need to run the installer of plugin as administrator by starting the installation program via the context menu if you do not get a UAC prompt for permission to continue (that is to say that nothing seems to be happening).

  • Cannot install add-ons in Firefox 4 "[Add on] could not be installed because Firefox failed to modify the necessary.".

I tried to install add-ons for Firefox 4, but were unsuccessful.

If I try to install inside the about: addons, the add-on will download, but then the installation bar will not change.
If I try to install from addons.mozilla.org, the add-on download but then I get a message in the info box on site (at the side of the address bar) which reads, "[module] could not be installed because Firefox failed to modify the necessary."

If I try to install any other modules after that, I get an error.

    I'm under Ubuntu 10.10 on a Toshiba Satellite U400.

I'm having this problem. I am also under Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox 4.0 (Canonical version 1.0) 32-bit.
When I try to install the Greasemonkey addon (and other addons), it downloads, but the installation progress bar remains at 0%. I can not also cancel installation. If I try, I get the error:

I read on the troubleshooting page of Firefox that xpinstall.enabled should be set to true in the configuration: about, but there is not in my list of config, so I tried to add it, but it made no difference.

  • Cannot install flash player, download run script error: could not set correctly - undefined reference innerHTML or zero

Unable to download/install Flash Player, download script error: cannot properly set innerHTML reference undefined or null

    Hello

The script error is caused by the DPI setting on your system.  If the DPI setting is set to 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% Setup returns the script error. If your DPI setting is set to something else, please set it to one of these and Setup online should work.  To check/change the DPI setting:

    1. Start the control panel and go to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display
    2. In the left menu, select set size custom text (PPP)
    3. In the Windows Setup custom DPI select 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% in the menu drop-down
    4. Click OK
    5. Select apply
    6. Open a session/disable
    7. Online installer should now run without displaying the script error.

A fix for this should be released in the coming weeks.

  • Cannot install flash after uninstalling winxp sp3

    Current Firefox, IE8, Chrome current

Flash would not be updated or uninstall correctly. Removal tool adobe used, to get him out.

    now will not install flash.

You know what?  I got a deal on another forum (bleepingcomputer.com) due to an infection/rootkit. Last week, we have been dealing with and clean up steps. As recent as yesterday, Flash dropped to 50%.  I was recording a session to present today and this is! the installation worked.

Maybe it's a good idea to suggest that this problem might have been caused by an infection.

    Otherwise, please close this ticket.

  • Cannot install Flash Player (Mac)

I'm trying to install Flash Player on a Mac of Yosemite (10.10.1). Whenever I try to open the installation program, the icon appears in the dock but no user interface never appears and activity monitor describes the application as being insensitive, forcing me from smoking it. I also tried to use the installer to "Flash Player for Safari and Firefox - NPAPI" linked to the Troubleshooting Page and while it provides a user interface and allows me to accept the license agreement it freezes the same way when I accept the terms on the first screen and successful install.

It is a clean installation of Yosemite, which is not even 24 hours old. The only other things installed on the Machine are the Manager package Java and Apple Homebrew development of command line tools.

Thanks much for the ideas that you guys can provide.

I just noticed that there is an update for Mac OS X after posting this (10.10.2) and, of course, that corrects the problem. Why does not install Flash on 10.10.1? It's a mystery.
