Cannot install for vista 32-bit update (KB974306)

I can't install on Microsoft site, this update (KB974306). I have windows vista 32 bit. This came to my attention by failing to my automatic updates as initially planned. Please advise me on what to do. Very new to the use of the pc in general. How easy is very appreciated! Thanks :)

Hi Pleasantvalley,
Sometimes the third-party software may conflict with the installation of the updates of Windows.

Make first boot to ensure that all applications and software from third-party manufacturers are temporarily turns off and disable all security on the computer running software as well. Then try to install the updates of windows on the computer and check.

Note: Make sure you put the computer to a normal startup after a boot minimum troubleshooting and also allow all security software after a repair.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

If the problem persists, check windows update history in order to find the error code for updates failed. Make a right-click on the update failed, and then click view
To do this:
a. click the Start button.
b. research the type of line Windows Update.
c. click on Windows Update.
d. Select view update history.

    Hi mlzla,

    I hope you do well.

No, if you do an upgrade on the spot, you will lose any program. The on-site upgrade process will take around an hour or two. It is very useful.

    You have 2 two versions of Internet explore 8 (IE8), 64-bit IE8 and IE8 32 bit. IE8 64-bit is the default value.

It is not a 64-bit version of Flash Player (at least not yet). While IE8 64 bit is your default browser, Flash contentshould open in IE8 32 bit. If you know any page contained Flash (or dependent on one or more ActiveX controls), open an instance of IE8 32 bit to access the page.

IE64-bit is a "level 2" browser Flash and ActiveX controls are supported in browsers 'level 1' (e.g., IE 32 bits). Seelevels of browser support on this somewhat linked page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263526.aspx#section2

When you right-click on the icons of IE in the quick launch area, the Start Menu and the desktop, then click Properties, which is in the target field?

(From a previous post by Peter Csaszar... version)

    Targets should be either:
    IE8 32 bit "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
    IE8 64-bit "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Change these objectives to be "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet ' (including the quotes) and IE8 32 bit should open by default

To create a shortcut to IE8 64 bit for occasional use, navigate to the file iexplore.exe inC:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe. Right-click iexplore.exe , and then select send to. Desktop (create shortcut). Rename this shortcut so that you know this is the shortcut for IE8 64 bit.

To make sure IE8 32-bit is the default, try this link http://www.Microsoft.com. When the browser opens lookhelp | About Internet Explorer. If there is no mention of 64-bit, 32-bit is the default value. • Can we install windows vista 32 bit OS on a computer that is pre installed with windows 7 64-bit OS?

Can we install windows vista 32 bit OS on a computer that is pre installed with windows 7 64-bit OS?

@ Ken... I tried installinng windows vista by using the recovery disk that will get a customer with the computer dell laptop... and then he was trying to install vista on my computer... It works fine when installing files, but it is and stucks where he says 'finish installation' and he won't do anything after that... I tried to restart my computer and I could see Microsoft coportation logo and then my computer stucks to this screen and wont connect in... not sure what exactly to do... by the ways for your reply thanks

You cannot use recovery discs to install with, if not for the exact model computer that you install.  You need a full installation detail of the model of Vista operating system you want to install since you don't downgrade your operating system to a system that offers no right of demotion.
  • Satellite A500D-10F - Display driver for Vista 64 bit

    Hi guys.

I currently have a Satellite A500D-10F (PSAN3E-00900JN5). I was browsing through the download page, looking for the display driver for this model works on Vista 64. Unfortunately, only vista 32 and versions of windows 7 are only popping up on categories.

Can someone kindly help me on this or maybe direct me to the appropriate for the correct ATI display driver download link?

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

I checked Toshiba driver download page and you have written for Windows 7 64-bit, a driver is available. I n t have A500D before me so that I can t test it, but usually Windows 7 drivers also work on Vista 64 bit, because they are very similar. In your case, I would like to try the 64 bit Windows 7 driver.

You want to install Windows Vista 64-bit? Why you n t choose the best Windows 7?

As already suggested in this forum the Vista 64 bit drivers are not available for all Toshiba laptops.
What you can do is to search on different websites for these drivers for Vista 64-bit.
For example, you can search on the page Intel or Realtek.

Chip manufacturers should provide 64-bit drivers too.

    > Another question (I'm not an expert): my laptop has 4 GB of RAM and a couple guys told me that only a 64 bit OS can use all my 4 GB of RAM. Is this true?
The 32-bit OS no matter if it s Vista or XP would recognize only 3.2 GB of RAM.
Only the 64 bit OS can see 4 GB of RAM or more

    Any help appreciated. Thank you

    Hi married,

Satellite A300 PSAG0S unknown to me, but on the European page, I created a similar model, PSAG0E. But the problem is that there is no drivers for Vista 64-bit, so I tried a Windows 7 64 bit and here I could found the more pilots. Normally, Windows 7 drivers should also work, they are compatible to Windows Vista downgrade.

    (1) does not allow a key OEM of one machine on the other, in any case - so that Rules that option, even if you could read the key.

    Hello

I run my 32-bit vista & McAfee for more than 18 months.

I intend to do a clean install of vista 64-bit and would be very grateful for advice on viral protection.

First option: continue with the paid version of McAfee & I wonder if that supports 64-bit?

    OR

Option two: choose a free antivirus protection software that is available for VISTA 64-bit. If possible can direct me in the sense for me to download an installer on a cd, so that I can install that after my own install of the 64 bit OS before connect me with fully protected internet.

  • ThinkVantage software for Vista 64 bit upgrade

    Hello

I'm curious to know where I can find the Thinkvantage for Vista 64-bit software.  I bought my T61 with Vista Ultimate (32 bit) in 2007, but decided to downgrade to XP due to performance issues.  I have used XP for some time now and has recently purchased and upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I've been downloading drivers from the Lenovo Web site, but I can't find the DVD software and some other applications.  Anyone know where I can go to find?  2 years ago, I have created the Vista recovery CD but I don't seem to be able to pull software out of it.  Anyone know where I can go to get the software miss me?

BTW, yes I know that the original Vista Ultimate license includes 64 - bit.  I didn't know that until the after that I bought a new copy of the software.  I don't even know if Lenovo provides CDs upgrade to Vista 64-bit.

    DRM for your help.

    George

The missing applications are only distributed in C:\SWTOOLS on the preload factory. Think that they will work in both Vista 32 and 64. If you do not save SWTOOLS 2 years ago, your only option is to install Vista 32 on a spare your recovery disk hard drive and copy it.

I do not see a clean installation guide Lenovo T61, but here 's mine for Vista 32 on T500.
