  I just did a clean install of Vista x 64 and installed the audio drivers Realtek from Toshiba.

  For me it looks like there is something wrong with the order of installation as well as drivers have you already installed? Normally the driver chipset and Windows updates must be installed first and then the audio driver. All you can download on the European driver of Toshiba download page.

  I used the following installation order:
  -Windows Vista 64-bit
  -Service Pack 2 for Vista
  -Chipset driver
  -Display driver
  -Sound driver
  Driver LAN-
  -WLAN driver
  -etc.

• XP administrator cannot install new programs

  I am the only user of XP Home and am registered as an administrator of the computer.   2 do you have standard user permissions to install programs?

  It seems that this administrator has blocked installation of programs on the computer. (UAC) user account controls have been set accordingly. If you are the computer administrator, you can try to connect as an administrator and see if you can install the programs correctly.   The application that you are installing will sort it out for you. Unless the software is told explicitly 64-bit in the box, you can be assured that the software will be 32-bit.

  If you are running a copy of Windows Vista (or 7) 64-bit operating system will install the software in the right folder so I don't worry about this.
