Cannot install Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5 on Windows 8 - installation program closes instantly

I'm trying to play a game that requires GFWL on my Windows laptop, 8. I myself GFWL to install correctly, but he invites me to download "Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5" before it can launch. He sends me to the following URL:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=15106

This is specifically stated Windows 7, but I tried to install it anyway. This is for me the UAC prompt, which I accept, and then Setup flashes on the screen and disappears before anything else. He didn't complete successfully, because the launch of GFWL gives the same exact error, what happened the last time, with a link to the same site.

I checked the Windows Installer service is running.

How can I get this to install, or short, how can I GFWL to work by skipping this step?

original title: problems with updating programs on Windows XP

    For a few months, I had this problem with my computer when I try to update most of the things. For example, iTunes updates take forever and never actually update. So I'm always several updates behind. This isn't a problem for me yet, but on top of that, my Windows Live Messenger wants to update me to a new version that came out a while ago, but when I try, there is a problem with the Windows Installer service or something. In addition, whenever I try to download various MMORPGS like Maplestory or recently Iris Online or one of their update patches, there is always a mistake, or it is said it is impossible to connect to the internet when I don't know I have a reliable internet connection. Some games offline lemma doesn't install either if I have to get installed on an external hard drive through someone of another PC and then re - copy the files installed on my PC (or just launched from the hard drive) to play some games. I had to completely erase my memory some time back because of a false Spyware and I had to do a manual reinstallation, but had Dell walk me through it on the phone. I don't know if that contributed to the problem or no for sure yet... I'm really tired of not being able to update these things or play games more. Can someone help me out here? If you have further questions about things or you wish to contact me by e-mail directly, just ask. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you. ^^;

    Hi Tony_Tenacious,

I suggest you try the methods mentioned below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Perform a clean boot before proceeding with the update of windows.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting steps, restore your computer to Normal startup mode.

Method 3: Reset the Windows Update components.

Method 4: No detection system file checker (SFC).

  • Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant

After the last update of Microsoft, or so, I get a window saying some parts of Windows Live ID sign-in Assistant have been disabled. I do not use Messenger, nor do I Office 363. I'm just a consumer, not a TI. I have Windows 7 with MS Office 2010. How can I get rid of this message? I never had this message before the updates!

I looked for answers, but the "answers" or issues are not sorted by date & time, so I can't yet very well my original question! Very frustrating for a major software company! And I have the stock in MS!

    Hi Mary,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

What is the exact error message you get?

This problem occurs when the Microsoft Online Services connection wizard detects that a problem has occurred in the service of the Microsoft Online Services Connection Wizard. In this case, the connection to the service is complete.

So, if you receive the message "there was a problem that caused some parts of the Microsoft Online Services Sign - in Assistant must be turned off", then I suggest you try to proceed as for Windows 7 from the following support article:

You receive an error "There was a problem that caused some parts of the Microsoft Online Services Sign - in Assistant as invalid"

If article brings no solution to your problem, please post back with the exact error message. We will be happy to help you further.

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

    Kind regards

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1N2 PSAE3E and I don't want Vista on my laptop. I downgraded the bios to V5.30 but still cannot install windows xp and there is still no optin for SATA in the bios.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Did you install the SATA drivers first?
You need this driver to recognize the HARD drive!

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

You must perform the installation of an external USB FDD drive using the F6 key during the installation of Win XP.

    Hello

I see that you have a problem in the installation of new Windows USB port. It seems that your HDD was not detected, right? It's because your laptop uses a SATA HDD.

what you need to do are:

    1. download the driver AHCI SATA website of intel. (just google it)

    2. copy the files (size 700 KB for 6 files) into the new USB

    3. reboot and install your laptop with win 7 (dvd/usb)

    4. by the time win 7 installation reached the drive to install (none detected), click load drivers.

    5. now load your other USB SATA drivers.

    6. then will show all disks in your system.

    7. continue with the installation process.

    hope this helps.
