Cannot move Illustrator dialog boxes

Abounds with frustration... I recently installed (updated) CS5.5.  Now I can not drag or move any dialog to the center of the application window.  It is a great source of frustration because I can't preview effects since the dialog boxes obscure work plans.  Does anyone have a solution for this disease?

Yes, I've done all the hacks from normal (?) with the Illustrator AIPrefs file and Settings file (why these methods became so commonplace is a testament to poor software design).

As I had previously assumed, I had to change settings between consoles admin NVidia and Matrox to cause Illustrator to behave nicely with dialog boxes. In particular, I had to instruct the video controller to replace the handling of application dialog box and now Illustrator behaves like CS5.5 cousins.

These types of disparities between software applications from the same company are enough to make me stay in environment UNIX (Yes GIMP!).

So for now, this incident is resolved.

Michael... This branched discussion covers your question? Moved in Illustrator handles appearing is not in the host character

Note that you cannot move the handles that were created in the document AI/PS in the Panel of the puppet at the moment, but you can move the origin or other handles in the document, save, and then these changes should be reflected in character animation.

  • Move the dialog box - start with the values defined at the current position?

My apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

With a selected object and the active selection tool, I press return to get the dialog box move.

For some reason, it seems random values entered in the horizontal and vertical fields. Instead, I just want the boxes to always start at 0 so that I can decide where the action, instead of having to manually delete these fields.

Can someone put me straight on how to get that box to behave as I want what it?

The numbers in the boxes are not random. They are the last move used values. They are kept to be used if you use a Cmd (Ctrl) d, the shortcut to repeat last transformation.

-Remember to make changes to your computer after that this problem started to happen?

Try to change the fonts for Windows and check if that helps fix the problem.

  • Cannot find the dialog box 'Create Slideshow '.

I have the first Elements 7 and I'm trying to create a slideshow.  The help page refers to a dialog box 'Create Slideshow', but I don't see that anywhere.  I looked in all the menus, each icon and I tried right-clicking on the photos that were driven down to the timeline, but no slide show option.

I did manually slideshows using PE7 before, but it's a big pain to have to manually set the duration of each slide, rather than changing the default sort.

    Thank you!

    Bennett

There are actually four different ways to create slideshows in Premiere Elements, and I'll show you how to do each one in my books.

But I think you are referring to the slideshow creator on the project Panel. To use it, select several images or clips in the project Panel (by selecting that you hold down the Ctrl or shift) and right click. This will open the Panel I think you are looking for.

  • Cannot resize the dialog box print too large

When you try to print using Reader X, the print dialog box is huge and the 'OK' button extends above the bottom, making it inaccessible.  I tried to resize the print area, but the handles that appear around the edges will not adjust the size of the box.  In this case no matter the size of the player window with which I work.

Someone else runs into this problem? No idea how to solve this problem?

    I use a screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

    Thank you.

On computers with low resolution, such as 800 X 600, the print and Cancel buttons may be off the screen. The 10.1.3 free update for Reader and Acrobat addresses this issue. You can install this update automatically to in Reader and Acrobat. If you are unable to update at this time, do one of the following:

    • Drag the scroll bar on the right side of the print dialog box down to access keys.
    • To print, press enter or return.

  • History file, Move File dialog box

I backed up my pc to the network attached storage (NAS) previously using the file history. Now I am trying to save the 2nd target – an external hard drive double protection.

I clicked on "Select Drive" and selected the external drive. Windows then prompted me if I wanted to move the file to the new drive. My question is if I answer YES, the previously saved files in the NAS moved to the new drive?

I need the backup stay in the two discs of target... don't want to move a disk to another. How can I do?

    Hi Roy,

If you have set up historical files on a drive different then you will get this message if you want to move the file to the other disk. If you click Yes , move the existing copies created by the history of the files to the new location you have selected. If you click on No will not move your history file to the new location, but these previous copies will remain available as long as the disk, on what they are remains attached.

  • How to move a dialog box

When I opened the box of levels in 11 elements, it opens in the middle of the photo, I am editing, how to, or what I can?

  • Setting position of the dialog box

I'll call the dialog function a simple button on the palette of the dialog box.  When running, the dialog box always appears in the center of the VI window, regardless of where the VI window.  The dialog box covers indicatorsthat, the user should see.

Other that to move the indicators on the front panel, is there something that can be done to move the dialog box to be perhaps outside the front window?  I see no setting for a position of dialog.

I know that I can always create a Subvi as a dialog box and define the position of the window, but I was wondering if the primitive location of Labview could be changed.

What I did when I ran across something like this, it is to carry the message to display to the express VI user and right-click and select everything that the option is called to make a normal VI. Then you can dig in and copy the source code or save as and make a copy of change needed. In this way, you keep all the existing resize based on the input text if a message is displayed, etc.. I think that this VI dressed just the primitive dialogues, if you have a lot more flexibility

  • Can not go to the bottom of a dialog box. Acrobat DC 2015 on Windows 10

I use Acrobat DC 2015 on a laptop running Windows 10. I'm not able to see, or scroll to the bottom of the dialog boxes, for example the "Add Watermark" dialog box. There is no option to scroll (no scroll bar), or to resize or move the dialog box. Is this a known problem, and is there a resolution/workaround? Thank you.Capture.png

Miriam, thank you, but the problem persists when you lower the resolution.

The setting of maximum recommended resolution on this laptop is 1280 x 720, and a message/alert appears in the dialog box of resolution screen that 'your resolution is less than 1024 x 720' Some elements could not fit and apps could not open. "So, I wonder if this is the cause of the problem.

I check into getting a 2nd monitor connected to see if that will help solve the problem.

  • JNLP: I always get a security for a signed application dialog box

    Hello

because of the more recent java-version wa had to sign our application.

It also works with a jnlp model in our main pot, but according to this site: what should I do when I see a security invites since Java?

We should have an option to set 'do not show this again once for Editor applications and location above '.

Whenever I start the jnlp (1.7u67) I get the dialog box of security with a properly verified application (information Blue Shield) but cannot remove the dialog box for the next time. :-(

Because the application requires access to local resources the jnlp contains

    < security >

    < all-permissions / >

    < / security >

    and the manifest signed jars

    Only trusted: true

    Trust-library: true

    Permissions: permissions everything

    CodeBase: *.

What can I do to avoid the security warning?

If this was not clear (sorry!), I was suggesting that you add the Application Library eligible Codebase attribute for your manifest.

  • Properties dialog boxes appear in extended desktop monitor after turning off

I used the Office expanded shortly to develop a data model. However, when returning on the single screen of laptop, maker of data continues to display dialog boxes in extended desktop monitor and therefore invisible.

If anyone has experienced this problem and is it possible to disable this option.

    Thank you
    Etienne Piron

    Hi Eric,.

For some of the dialog boxes, he remembers where the dialog box is displayed, and next time the dialog box is used, it tries to display the dialog box at the same place.
This can result in the dialog box being invisible if it was previously displayed on a subsidiary monitor that is no longer connected.

In this case, you can move the new dialogue box on the main screen as follows:

1 attempt to open the dialog box.

    2. tap Alt space (this opens the dropdown of the invisible dialog box).

3 M type (this selects the Move option in the drop-down below).

4 use the left or right arrow key to move the dialog box. (Once you've started it, you will find that you can use the mouse to position the dialog on the screen.)

You need only this time for the dialog box. Next time it is used, it must appear in the new location.

  • How assign key Definition dialog box short CSS rule?

I need to know this very urgent. Dreamweaver has to a range of css style in which there is "Pencil icon" at the bottom of the palette which shows the css definition... Rule dialog box while modifying the value I want an overview of evolution... I can apply, move the dialog box and see the change...  "but the css style palette remains open blocking the view I want to see." Now, it is not possible to close the palette when the dialog box is open. I so need a key to open the dialog box directly rule css definition.

    Can anyone suggest something?

It of a little difficult to consider what you are trying to do, but if you want to hide the CSS Styles Panel to see more of the Document window, press F4. Which hides all panels. Pressing F4 again brings in the display.
