Cannot open a file that it created CS6

I have some files created in and saved by CS6 (in JPEG format) that it cannot re - open. (Next day, no update or anything else.)

The message says:

"Could not complete your request because it is a type of marker JPEG unknown or not valid."

How Photoshop can create a file, it can not read?

More importantly, how avoid this in the future?

Hello

This problem is usually caused by saving a file with an extension that does not match its actual size. For example, the screenshot below, I've changed manually the extension marker in the field record under .jpg but drop Format indicates that the file will be saved in the Photoshop .psd format.

Below are directions to check if your issue is due to formats (I use Mac, but you can find indications of PC here) and markers of file do not match.

1. find the file you get the error message. Right-click on the file and select information.

2 confirm that you have an incompatible file format and marker. As you can see, name and extension my file see 'circle.jpg' but the file type is an Adobe Photoshop file. The same question could be if applied to other format combinations do not match, not just jpg/psd.

3 to fix this, simply type the file extension that corresponds to the file type - in my case, I replaced circle.jpg in the name and Extension field with circle.psd.

You should now be able to open your file with Photoshop and re - save the image in JPEG format. To avoid this problem doesn't happen in the future, always make sure that when you go to file > save under you remove or change the file extension in the field save slot, and the extension corresponding to the file format selected.

If you have any questions, or if it has not addressed the problem, please feel free to post a reply. In addition, , This is a very comprehensive article on other reasons that this problem could occur and how to fix it.

See you soon,.

    Hello

    1. You did changes to the computer before the show?
    2. What version of web browser work?

You can temporarily disable the antivirus software, and then try to install programs, and also try to open .exe files to check if that helps.

Check the link for more information.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Hi JRCLNSIN100,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

We would like to get some more information from you to help solve your problem. You better, please answer the following questions.

    ·         What is the disk you use to reinstall?

    ·         Is this a recovery or reinstalling the disc you are using?

    ·         When exactly do you get this error message?

    ·         What is the edition of Windows Vista, you try to install?

    ·         How old is the drive that you are using?

    ·         How are you starting the installation process?

After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.

First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.

To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.

To perform a flat installation of Windows Vista, follow these steps.

Note The hard disk must have at least 3 GB of free space on the disk for the Windows Vista installation files. The hard disk must have at least 15 GB of additional disk space to install Windows Vista. For more information about system requirements for Windows Vista, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/products/windowsvista/editions/SystemRequirements.mspx

    1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc.
    2. Start Windows Explorer.
    3. In Windows Explorer, click to select the drive for the Windows Vista installation disc.
    4. On the Edit menu, click select all.
    5. On the Edit menu, click copy.
    6. Click to select the hard disk you want to contain the flat installation files.
    7. On the file menu, point to new, click the folder, type Windows Vista Setupand then press ENTER.
    8. Double-click the Windows Vista Setup program, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
    9. Double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions that appear.

See the link below for more information on flat installation.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928902

This problem can also occur if the firmware of the DVD drive is defective or obsolete.

If the step above does not resolve the question suggests that you install the latest drivers for the DVD player on the computer.

  • I get a message saying "Windows cannot open the file...". »

I had a lot of problems with infections, so I was running many scanning programs.

After getting my computer almost completely cleaned, I ran the Super Anti-Spyware program.  We find 3 infections, which I'd delete (I don't have no way of knowing that I removed).

Since then, whenever I try to open a program, or even Windows Update, etc., I get a message saying:

"Windows cannot open the file.  To open this file, Windows needs to know what kind of program has created.  Windows can go online to search automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs.

When I go on the web, I get a lot of options, which are almost free scans that then charge for fixing.  I am also very scared that I can also get another infection from these sites.

I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

Yes, each method is a set of measures to try and then go ahead and try each one separate.

2 method will reset the executable (.exe) extension that will allow you to open programs. It is not clear what exactly you are trying to open so that it can have no effect.

Keep in mind that the damage caused by malware can be irreversible, in the case of relocations are necessary.

I need to send a file Ms Info to Wb tech support so that they can help me with the game on steam download. Whenever they open the file it says it gives the following message "information MS cannot open this file. The file may be corrupt or incompatible with this version of the information system. "I tried to open it too and had the same error message how can I send a file not corrupted for them?

Information MS cannot open this file.

They should use Notepad to open the file when it is a txt file.

Another way to create a portable system information file is to select the hotkey Win + R, type msinfo32 , and press ENTER . Click file, Save and name the file. This method creates a file with an extension of nfo file. Perhaps the recipient expects the file in this format.

  • Dmp file that is created by Windows in a collision

Why the dmp file that is created by Windows in a collision is unreadable by Windows, with a message that Windows does not recognize this file type. Really, it's quite shocking to have the operating system to create a file once a critical failure and the operating system cannot even read this type of file. It would be laughable if Windows has cost £/ $0.01 but it doesn't. It is quite appalling. I really don't want to download a third party software to do this, and neither turning well should I.

You can follow the link below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315263
The reason does not provide native support for the type of file, is that the file contains complex entries that must be consulted for debugging by people who are aware of the work of Windows. But, Windows is used by the common people and it is not possible to expect everyone to be aware of this (like Linux) and so Microsoft provides no native support in Windows for the file type. So, those interested can download all the necessary tools to open the file. It's like Visual Studio.
