Cannot open links sent by e-mail in Firefox 42

I've just updated to Firefox 42 and now I can't open any links embedded in emails - by clicking on it (as in Firefox 40) or by synchronizing right and selecting open in new tab (new tabs open properly if I do a search on Google and click on a result.) It's the links embedded in an email message that will not work. My email is @live.com (Hotmail).

It is a huge problem. Can someone tell me what happened?

Make sure that Firefox is set correctly in the default browser.

  • Cannot open links in Windows Live Mail 2011

I updated Windows Essentials last night to Live Mail 2011.

Now, I can't open the mails by double-clicking it, and if the mail contains all links, the only way I can open them is by a right-click, "copy link" and then paste it manually in my e-mail program... it is a rather tedious way of doing things...

Is there a work around or is this a known bug?

I had the same problem, after spending an hour "my browser optimization", which did not fix the problem, I clicked on tools, then on 'internet options' and click on 'programs', I noticed that Internet Explorer was NOT marked as my default browser. I clicked on that and the issue has been resolved. Good luck!

I created a my page book epub file, and it works perfectly in iBooks. But it does not appear on my other devices, and the .epub file cannot be successfully sent by e-mail. 5.6.2, iBook 1.5 pages

    What's not?

You must check the iBooks category in your OS X system preferences: Panel iCloud: iCloud Drive: Options: Documents Panel. On iOS, you must have enabled to iCloud and in the iCloud Drive location setting iBooks. Also, in iOS parameters: iTunes and App Store, ensure that iBooks is running.

The iBook.epub file is a compressed/compressed and renamed folder that represents a single file to any email client. What do you mean, it cannot be sent correctly - and it's your experience, send, or the failure of the recipient to view the ePub document? What email client?

I would START by checking if your IE8 has all its flaws. Any time we're not able to open links in emails, the Internet Explorer problem, the majority of the time.

Start button > Default programs > Set Your Default programs > left side, select Internet Explorer...
He said "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click on choose by default for this program > tick on each entry in the list > save

See if that solves all the problems you have.

P.S. Check with your shipper, see if your sender uses Microsoft Outlook. If so, ask your sender to go to the Format of the mail and select HTML.

  • Cannot open links in mail (gmail, aol, yahoo)

I have re-installed win 7 x 64 because it did not work properly. Now, I can't open links, if I try, it says I want to open or save, I press open, he then to downloads which then I cannot open. I also have a message in the devices that says 'not found mass storace controller driver"tried to download from Dell, but it doesn't let me do. Sometimes when I try to open it, Media Player also attempts to open it. I tried to change the settings for AutoPlay without result. Help! What can I do?

See if right click on the item that you want to download and save target as.

If an attempt to open links to Web sites,.

Hold down the CTRL key when you click on them / or if a mouse Center wheel click on them without maintaining the CTRL key.

  • Cannot open links in Skype, WLM or saved HTML (Firefox will not answer)

"I can't open links in conversation Windows Skype in a Firefox session running in the background, it flashes only the window borders. If I close Firefox and click on the Firefox links automatically open the link, but not everything with a session running in the background. Strange thing while having clicked on the link and began a new session of Firefox, it opens the legs as usual while clicking on the following links several times but close Firefox and restart and then click on the links in the Skype window, it does not. I have to bring up the context menu, then choose Copy address. »

I see there is no answer to the problem that guy had and I have the same problem - links of Skype and Windows live mail will not open and there is more - FF does not open the html files that are saved on the pc, even you, I just saved 'em, but when I click on em nothing happens and when I right click and choose open with FF nothing happening.

He worked for two weeks without problem and suddenly today links just do Skype flash exactly as in christianhbergs description and in windows live mail, they become purple but firefox does not react.

as soon as I make IE as my default - links work, but not with firefox.

So I guess that the problem is in firefox (no Skype or WLM in Win8)

    (running Win8 and FF25.0)

And none of the solutions that you have given us in the work of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/961242#answer-497345 .

    I found the problem you!

I don't usually turn off the pc, but I Hibernate it!

While I had this problem, I decided to restart my pc.

The problem disappeared after a reboot - so I suppose the FF problem was somehow linked with use of the memory to the hibernation.

    Thank you for your answers
    anyway.
