Cannot open pdf pencasts, are normal fine pdf

I can't open pdf pencasts (PDFs recorded sound and video). Whenever I try to open one in any browser, it first says that I don't have the latest in adobe reader version.

Whereas, when I try to open the file with the player (who I just downloaded the latest version a momeny there is) it says that I don't have the required version of flashplayer.

Every time I tried, either download the "latest" version of the flash player or player DC it says I already have the latest version of adobe...

I can open all of the normal pdf files very well in a browser or with the drive, but only these special pdf with sound and video, I can't seem to open...

Can someone help me with this?

Did you install Active X and Plugin?

  • Cannot open .pdfs in Firefox

My wife machine is running Windows 8.1, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard. Cannot open .pdfs in the browser. Clicking on a link to a .pdf file will open a new tab which will close immediately, leaving me right back where I was, as if I had never clicked the link. I can right click and then save money, download the file and open it in Adobe Acrobat X. But this is not what I want, and not the way it was designed.

Internet Explorer 11 open .pdfs in the environment described above, in the browser, with no problems.

I followed all instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972278 and http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html. Instructions for Mozilla or Adobe can get operational.

As a nuclear option, I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine, uninstalled Firefox, restarted the machine, re-installed Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine and re-installed Firefox and rebooted the machine. Attempt for opening yields .pdf to the same result, even after uninstalling and reinstalling everything. What happens here? Why Firefox opens a blank tab and then close it immediately? Block jump - rises is set to off, and blocking the windows blocker disabled.

My own computer that is running Windows 7, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard opens .pdfs in browser very well, without any problems.

Any advice? I'm pulling my hair out! Thanks for your time.

    Hey,.

    Try the following:

    • Go to setting (3 bars) > options > applications.
    • Under the applications Panel.
    • Find Portable Document Format (PDF) from the list and click on it to select it.
    • Click the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry and select the name of use (in Firefox) PDF reader or preview in firefox.

If the PDF files are always downloaded instead of poster, try these solutions
    Reset download actions

    • Open your profile folder:

    Click the menu button

    click Help

and select troubleshooting information. The troubleshooting information tab will open.

In the section the Application databases, click view folder. It will open a window with your profile files.

    Click the menu button

    then click on leave

    Delete the mimetypes.rdf file.

Then open firefox again and see.

    I hope it helps.

  • Cannot open pdf files. Acrobat 10

Cannot open pdf files. "Acrobat cannot send a DDE command '.

Thank you John. The problem has been resolved. I'm sure this has to do with changes of microsoft with one of their updates since I subscribe to Office 365. Somehow my Acrobat version 10 a program started working again after a week of being disabled. I use windows 8.1 and dread of having to go through windows 10 soon.

  • Cannot open pdf in FireFox

FF for Win 7 protests when I try to open a PDF on a web page. I tried several PDF files. He complains that he cannot do so because a player is running. I doubt that one is open. I have 8 pro and freebies reader 9.0 reader. Both can open a PDF independently and seq. comments?

Adobe Acrobat 8 is not supported on Windows 7, it is not surprising to find issues.

My advice is to completely remove the Adobe Reader 9 and install the free software Adobe Reader X, what does default to open PDF files. If you must use Adobe Acrobat, you can continue using the version 8 and hope it works or buy Adobe Acrobat X (which is fully certified for Windows 7).

As of today, the Extension of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader does not work with Firefox 6. Whenever Mozilla is updating their software, vendors must rebuild their codes, as Mozilla Installer for extensions insists on a verification of the compatibility of the versions; even if the code XPI itself runs, he is blocked if it is not specifically marked for the version of the browser in use (rules of Mozilla to be included in the catalogue of extension requiring that a labeled version must have been tested against the maxVersion number, we can simply say 'maxVersion = 9999').

Again, the plugin works fine, then PDF files can be read in Firefox 6 using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader X - what is missing is the toolbar for creating of the PDF files of the current page. You can achieve the same thing of in Acrobat X Pro through to create > PDF from Web Page tool.

Adobe publishes updates to the Acrobat family about every three months, and it is totally illusory to think that the frequency. The plugin still works, users can view PDF files in Firefox, as they could before, but by pushing an update to each user of Adobe Reader and Acrobat simply to replace the XPI file will cause endless complaints from company directors. All main suppliers are in the same position - including Google, Microsoft and Real Networks - their plugins work, but their extensions are blocked. Users can hack the XPI file to simulate the header tag, but sellers cannot.

  • Windows 10 - cannot open pdf files in MS Reader

Hello, I have recently updated my phone company to 10 Windows in Windows 7. I have been using Acrobat Reader XI without problems. Since I was walking, opening PDF files always ends without response. After you open the PDF, he held only icon for a few seconds and then nothing (not even a blink of a new window / frame). I already tried several methods:

    • Uninstalling XI player associated with the application of advanced uninstaller. Put it back, with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
    • Complete uninstall of the CD with AdobeAcroCleaner_DC2015 player. Then reinstall > unsuccessful
    • I also tried the CD Player update to the latest version, and then using to repair mechanism (help > repair installation) > same result

When I open the CD (shortcut or *.exe) directly, it runs normally and it allows me to open probably almost any PDF file as in the past. But if I trie to open any PDF file, it doesn't do anything. After consulting the table of processes through the Task Manager, I discovered that there are two processes that are running in the background "Adobe Acrobat Reader (32-bit) DC". It is + 2 after trying to open another PDF file / CD player.

I also had this same problem on different machines. This is quite annoying, because I don't want to use the native Windows player...

    My current status:

HP ZBook 15, i7-4800MQ, 16 GB of RAM

    MS Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - Czech (15.008.20082)

    Hey tomasnav,

Open the drive, go to the Edit-> Preferences-> Security enhances & disable protected mode.

Check f, it brings a change.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot open PDF files in Distiller 8

Last week I was able to open a PDF with Distiller 8.  Now, when I try to open a PDF file, this is the warning he gives: warning: Distiller is not treated. Newspaper. PDF or. The JDF file extensions

I do not understand why I was able to open the file one day and not the other.  I was able to select a PDF file and select 'Open with' and Distiller 8 was in the list and the file would open as it would if I had opened in Reader or Acrobat.  I need to open the file in Distiller to make the necessary changes.  You cannot make the same changes to the files in Reader or Acrobat, as you can the Distiller.  Please help me if you can!

Same answer three years ago, but I will state as simply as possible.

Acrobat Distiller does not open PDF files in some way, shape, or form. The only purpose of Acrobat Distiller is to convert PostScript to PDF files, nothing more and nothing less.

If you need to change aspects of a PDF file, including properties, image compression, file size, etc., you open a PDF in Acrobat Pro and use the native PDF that are appropriate.

  • Cannot open PDF files

I have a HP Pavilion desktop pc with card mother at660a and that you just download the latest Mozilla fire fox and now I can't open PDF files when I am still on the web, can I open then, but as soon as I insert in downloads on my drive hard all the that get is a blank page with the exception of the border etc. but no script , by the way this pc has never used Mozilla firefox.
But when I use internet explore that it's ok, I have Mozilla on my other PC and I have no problem, but they are charged with an earlier version when I try manually open with Adobe reader, he tells me that the file is corrupted hope you can help thank you.

For some reason, your Firefox is who identified himself as version 9 instead of version 19. If you select help > about Firefox, can you verify that you have version 19.0.2 or click Find updates and get the current version?

19 of Firefox has an internal PDF Viewer. To switch to a different Viewer, see the following article: How to disable the built-in PDF Viewer and use another Viewer. Note that this does not apply to earlier versions of Firefox.

Finally, please note that current versions of Adobe Reader 10.1.6 and 11.0.2. For your safety, make sure you have a current version.

  • Cannot open PDF files on Web sites, or when it is attached to the email!

    Hello
My computer is running Vista and I had this problem for the last 2 years! I can only receive the PDF sent by one of the companies I work for. I can't open most PDF files sent by attachment or all the files on Web sites. I have Adobe 9 and Foxit Reader and it does not work with either. I tried to re - install Adobe and still no luck. With Foxit Reader that I can manage to open the PDF files sent from the company I mentioned earlier, but that's all. I would really appreciate some help... Thank you very much! :) x

Try this: uninstall all the software that you have to display the PDF documents. Then try to open a PDF file. You should receive a message that "Windows cannot open this file". If you get the message that the file is "corrupt" or "not supported" means that you have another program or display of PDF files.
Once you receive a message that "Windows cannot open this file" download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader (9.3).

  • Cannot open PDF files by e-mail more

I can't open PDF files in my Outlook email more.  My husband gets his colonies to work via e-mail and for 3 years now I have been open the colonies without problem.  This week, I can't open the file.  I get this error:

    Microsoft Word

A red x, then "Sorry there was a problem and we can't open the PDF if this product again try to open the PDF file in Microsoft Word"

Well, I thought it was always open in Word!  Anyway, it is not the drive.  I Sumatra and I can still open the other PDF files.  I even changed my readers just to check and get the same message.  I wrote to Outlook and they said it is not their problem and to post here in the Microsoft Community.  It's very frustrating because we need to see those files.  If she is not Outlook or the PDF reader, what could be the problem?  Thank you!

  • Cannot open PDFs in the Webbrowser

We have the problem that user cannot open a PDF file in the browser. We have always found a way how we can solve this problem using Acrobat | Display PDF in browser. Acrobat, Reader XI the problem is a lot but it's very tedious.

Anyone has an idea where the problem comes from? We use as Webbrowser Internet Explorer 11.

Thank you very much for the help.

    Hello

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately the files exist.
Today, I had a single user where AdobeReader Plugin does not work. My Solution is:
    1. start Internet Explorer - Addons - display all add-ons - disable AcroPDF Reader
    2. close IE
    3. start IE - Addons - display all add-ons - activate Reader AcroPDF

He now works for an indefinite period.

Know someone where it comes from?

Can you open the PDF docs?  Otherwise, here are some things to try...

    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
    • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
    • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
    • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html
  • Cannot open .pdfs via Outlook or Adobe Reader, impossible to open Adobe Reader, it is impossible to uninstall!

We have a new office that will not open .pdfs or open Adobe Reader.  The version on the computer is 9.5.2.  When I try to install the updates or install Adobe XI, the installation process stops before the end because he said that Adobe 9.5 is currently open.  But we cannot open Adobe 9.5, and the Task Manager does not appear even the program as being open.

I tried to uninstall the program, but were unable to for the same reason.

You can try to use this tool to remove all traces of the previous versions of the player:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then you can download the offline Player Setup of

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.
