  So you must upgrade to CS6 or CC or convert your DNG Raw files using the Adobe's DNG Converter for free. Then open and edit DNG files in CS5.

  I have a new Canon EOS 80 d camera and Photoshop elements 11 will not open to raw files. Following the instructions online, I downloaded dng converter 9.5, which is supposed to update Photoshop for this device. But it still doesn't work. It is unclear what I see online (and there is no number to call for support) If a later version of elements is needed to do this, or if items is even helped at all by the converter of 9.5. -What for the full program of Photoshop? Any suggestions? I spent a few hours on this today, and it's frustrating. After Nikon to Canon this round and so they need new lenses, filters, etc., I have not exactly cash remains for a new program of camera as well.

  I have Photoshop and Bridge CS4 running on an iMac.  I just bought a Canon 7 d (great, btw).  Unfortunately, Bridge and Photoshop cannot open files.  The error message says that Photoshop does not recognize this file type.  I can convert it to tiff, jpg, etc. using other programs, but I prefer not to have the extra conversion.

  The 7 5 d Mark II was first supported by Camera Raw version 8.7 (the plugin used by Photoshop Elements to open Raw files)

  Devices supported by Camera Raw

  Camera Raw 8.7 is only compatible with 13 elements and later versions.

  Elements 9 is compatible only with versions of Camera Raw 6.1 to 6.5 included so you will never be able to open the Raw of Mark II 7 d files in Elements 9.

  You have two choices:

  1. Upgrade to the latest version of items (currently 14 but is there a new version due every day now), or
  2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, batch convert all 7 d Mark II Raw files to DNG format and then edit DNG files in Elements 9. An extra step for you, but no extra costs.

  The 1200D was first supported in camera Raw 8.4 that is only compatible with PSE 12 and following. Not PSE11 which is only compatible up to 7.4 Raw.

  Options:

  1. Upgrade to PSE14, or
  2. Free option: download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all 1200D to DNG Raw files, then change the DNG files in PSE11. An extra step for you, but no extra costs.

  5 Lightroom is not compatible Canon 750D raw files.

  You can upgrade to Lightroom 6/CC or free DNG Converter allows you to convert raw to DNG files and access these files to DNG in Lightroom 5.

  I bought a canon eos m3 and shoot in raw and lightroom will not open them they are cr2 files, read I need lightroom 6 or later version is this correct as all my other canon DSLR digital raw files open very well?

  Google Adobe DNG converter 9.5.1.

  Download it from the Adobe website and install it. Copy your images to a folder on your hard disk that you create. Probably in the same folder structure all your images are stored in. By default, which would be under your user name > images folder, but it can be anywhere and any name.

  Run the converter program and point to this folder, look through all the options of the converter program and choose those that are best for you and click on the button to convert.

  I read that I should use software DNG, but when run, I get the error messages on the converted files. I have been able to use the Canon software, but prefer using Adobe.

  The DNG Converter is a stand-alone application. We don't talk about plug-ins for Photoshop ACR.

  The converter will make your T1i raw files that can be used in Photoshop.
