Cannot open the .eml attachments in Windows Live Mail

I saw messages from November 2009 on WLM failed to open .eml attachments. Work on this problem for 2 weeks, using chat rooms, forums, tips, suggestions, etc... SO... why won't WLM open all .eml attachments I get? Had lots of advice, but none worked so far. Yet, many people are able to get to work there. When I try something, as many times the path suggested I am unable to do.  It's almost as if I had another computer than others.  Thank you.

  • Cannot open an attachment pdf from windows live mail, they are opened in word

Until last week, I don't have any problems at the opening of pdf files for attachments in my email, now, they are open automatically in word, which does not work.   Yes I have the adobe reader software, and yes I have fixed and repaired the adobe reader software.  I tried to find where in the settings are the default settings for e-mail, but unfortunately could not find mail.  I saw in the previous forums it seems to be a current problem.  I don't want to save each attachment to the office where I can open it with adobe, nor do I want to change to Foxit reader as I have no problems so far.  I think there may have been a problem with updates.  There, can someone help me.

    Thank you very much

    Robyn S

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Adobe Reader.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  • Unable to save attachments in Windows Live Mail

First of all, I saw this question raises a number of times on this and other sites to support, but I've yet to see it resolved. I'm running a fully corrected and updated current version of Windows Vista SP2 and you have installed Windows Live Mail in my default e-mail Manager. In short, I'm only able to download attachments of any kind by drag-and - drop on my desktop - all usual ways have no effect, or produce a generic error message.

Upon receipt of an email with parts attachments of any type in any amount:

    1. Double-click an attachment icon - no effect
    2. Right click, don't choose 'Open' - no effect
    3. Right click, choose 'Print' - successfully print paper or .pdf [my default printer]
    4. Right-click, choose "save under"-"save attachment as" command prompt opens. When you click 'Save' (on the desktop for these examples), prompt disappears, and no file is saved on the desktop.
    5. Right click, choose 'Save everything' - 'Save attachments' command prompt opens. When you click on "Save", the error message if there is a registration error, one or more of the attachments. Please check your free disk space and try again. Note: The available disk space is not a problem on this machine.
    6. Drag / drop the attachment of the WLM message on my desk - work successfully.

    Solutions already attempted:

    1. Delete all temporary files of Internet Explorer 9 [any effect]
    2. In IE9 security options, ensuring"download file"is "activated". [any effect]
    3. In IE9 security options, disable the "Protected Mode" [any effect]
    4. After trying the previous two solutions, change the security zone in Windows Live Mail (Options--> Security--> Security tab Options) for the "Internet Zone" rather that "sensitive sites"area [any effect]
    5. In Windows Live Mail, ensure that "do not allow the opening or saving attachments that could contain a virus" box is unchecked [any effect]
    6. Ensure all analyzes e-mail is disabled by my anti-virus (Avast software! Free antivirus 6.0.1367). Note: No product AVG, Norton or MacAfee have already been installed on this machine, I understand that their presence (current or former) may contribute to this problem
    7. Use ProceXP to display all the assets of .dll files used by Windows Live Mail to make sure that nothing unusual is running. Nothing unusual, although wlmail.exe accesses the Avast! AV .dll 'snxhk.dll '. I don't know if this has an effect.
    8. Run the System File Checker tool [no problem found, no effect].

While this problem has a workaround solution, is somewhat a disadvantage and slightly confusing (why would 'print' and drag-and - drop works, but nothing else?). I hope that I haven't missed the solution somewhere and that, otherwise, it can be resolved for the good of someone fall on this issue. Thanks in advance.

  • How to use paper in the latest version of Windows Live Mail?

How to use paper in the latest version of Windows Live Mail?

    Version 2011

Short answer: the stationery support has been removed from Windows Live Mail with the upgrade of v.2009 v.2011 back in 2010.

Long answer: there are two solutions of workaround that you can try.

    • If you have a stationery .htm file, open it in Internet Explorer, and then select file > Send > Page by email (Alt - F E P). Save the message as a result as a .eml file and use it as a model for messages.
    • You can get in shape, for example a background color, to a HTML signature, then apply this signature to an e-mail message. Here's the one I use when sending pictures:

      Hello!

      Love
      Noel

      Here is the result:

  • In the left pane of Windows Live Mail, my four email accounts including pointed "Windows Live Mail, just above Gmail, but now they're gone."

In the left pane of Windows Live Mail, my four email accounts including pointed "Windows Live Mail, just above gmail.   He disappeared somehow (I probably errased it instead of an email.)  and I would like to know how to back this account to the left pane. This would indicate how many emails were waiting in the Inbox.  If there is a suitable forum that I missed, FEAL free to direct me there.

  • The "Reply address" field does not work under the account properties in Windows Live Mail

I use Windows Live Mail on Windows Vista Home Premium system to access three e-mail accounts that I administer.  I would like to change the default reply address in the accounts to use my address E-mail UKU (that is, when I send a message to any of the accounts, the beneficiaries of the default response is sent to my account UKU).

All of my system messages via a different service provider (Virgin) and I discovered that the "Reply To" address in the header is always to my Virgin account.  I entered all my account settings and entered the UKU address that must seek answers (accounts-properties-reply address), but this setting doesn't seem to work.

    Please advise...

    Kind regards

  • Cannot open the .eml files in Explorer windows except for Windows Live Mail

In Windows XP, I could download the files of .eml Windows Live Mail on my computer and then open them from almost anywhere on my computer. In Windows 7, I can only open these files in Windows Live Mail. I have created an association between the 2, but I can not open files with the exception of Windows Live Mail. How can I change this?

Simple design flaw. Simple solution - but he just buried by so many doors to Microsoft you idiots jump through.

    Follow these steps:

I found the solution: Set Window Live Mail (WLM) defaults for EML files in Winodws 7:

Panel--> programs-> set your default programs--> Windows Live Mail--> choose Defailts for this program. Now simply select .eml by checking the box. Select Save at the bottom and close.

    There you have it.
