Cannot play games online.
When I try to connect to any game online the connection just times out. I'm not having problems with my connection and I did everything that I can think of to fix this. No matter what type of game I try to play, I have this same problem.
Noel2112,
Here are a few things I suggest that you try if you have not yet. First turn off clean boot your system and then test and see if you are able to play one of your games. Here are the instructions to perform a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/
If this does not help then I suggest the System File Checker to verify that it is not a possible problem with the operating system running. Here is the information on CFS: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
You said it's the only PC having this problem. Are others that you are using on the network? If so the router settings are the same for this PC and others? Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

After playing games online, I closed the safari window but I can barely see the walkthrough of word written in my office. I changed my desktop to a solid color, so I can see it better. I also see the Netflix pause button and if I reduce the window as I type right now I see Select a community to Post To my office. Is this a virus? If yes what should I do to fix it?
Thank you!

My Windows 7 (Ultimate 64), m9058n, Pavilion Elite HP, seems to have serious problems. Whenever I'm playing games such as (TF2/steam games) or try and watch videos/flash things online, it appears to hang. What is happening is the monitor turns off, then the round ends. Just browse web pages or by looking at the Office does not this at all. No idea what this could be. Supposedly, my drivers are up to date, please help! Thanks in advance!

Connection to the network is fine, but can't do updates / can't play games online
Hey guys,.
IAM running windows 7 64 bit on a dlink dir 625 but use a usb wireless adapter to get the signal. I recently bought the usb adapter and it works fine as I tested it on other computers. In any case, recently for some reason unknown I can connect to the internet without problem however, I can not play online games: when I connect to any game online it tells me "is the server may be down or I can't have access to the internet", my brother, that I share the NET connection with has no problem playing the same game online and can update his computer very Ok. The router is pretty close, so we get a signal of strength 'excellent '. I ran a virus check/maleware check and spyware and my computer is fine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! [I recently opted in the beta of starcraft 2 and its killing me that I can't play: (lol] Thaks guy!
-J' recently had an attack of malware last Sunday, got rid of the malware. IAM running AVG 9.0. My firewall allows access to all the games on the net and when I turn off my firewall completely I still get the same "unable to connect" message
I solved the problem, for anyone who has the same problem. Go to explore Internet connections, then click on tools, internet options, then click on network settings and uncheck use a proxy server for your lan... it should work!

Not able to play games online.
Original title: program compatibility Application Applications App Apps game games Legacy Crash crashes Hang hangs
Help! I did something (no idea what) but now I can't play the games on games.com. It says I need the Java Plugin, but when I try to download I get a message that it is already installed & when I say re - install it says that it cannot. I tried with Java 6 (which is stalled, but still get the same message you need Java to play games) & Java 7, which will not be installed at all. I'm not, of course, in computer science, only friendly, kind of response must be listed on a type 'how to the difficulty for Dummies' response! I thank in advance for any help, you can provide for this fix.
Hello Nancy,
Glad to know that you were able to resolve the issue and thank you for sharing information in the Microsoft Community. If you have problems with Windows in the future, please post in the Microsoft Community. We would be happy to help you.

Hello
1. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?
2. what browser do you use?
3. What is the brand and model of the computer?
4. What is the full error you receive with network diagnostics? If you use Internet Explorer, then see method 1.
Method 1:
The cause may be missing or out of date addons.
See the site:
The problems of games online using Internet Explorer
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2528246
Method 2: update the network driver
See the site:
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctlyMethod 3: Safe Mode with network and clean boot
Check if the problem persists in safe mode with network. If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network check if the problem persists in the boot.
Step 1: Safe Mode with networking
Networking in safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers with networking. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
See the site:
Start your computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: Clean boot
When the computer starts to boot, programs non-Microsoft will not be started and would avoid any interruption of their share.
See the following site:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 7 of article to restore your computer to normal startup.
Note: If in case, you are connected via a connection wireless, and then when you start the System Configuration utility to perform the clean boot, click Startup and Services tab one time and check wireless see corresponding section are checked (enabled).
