Cannot scroll on Mail Version 9.3 (3124) after update of El Capitan 2 months ago

Cannot scroll on the e-mail (e-mails, mailboxes, etc)... I did something wrong or this is the update that affects my Mail.

    There was changes in the prefs of mousewheel as a result of the implementation of the DOM3 (Bug 719320) scrolling mouse wheel.

    I don't think that it is possible to replace / adjust the amount of scrolling when you use a modifier key for a certain number of pixels.

    There is only the delta multipliers that change the number of lines (33 changes scrolling amount to one-third), so probably closed you can get is to assign the action to the modifier Alt 1 (or 1% of the default).

    You can change mousewheel.*.delta_multiplier_y prefs (vertical axis) to change the vertical scroll amount.

    Make visible the hidden files and folders:

    In Thunderbird
    Help > troubleshooting information

    • Click on the view file"" button.
    • It will open a window display profile folder.
    • Close Thunderbird now - this is important.

    Scroll down, look for the following files and delete them.

    • LocalStore.RDF
    • Panacea.dat
    • Session.JSON

    Close the window and restart Thunderbird. It will recreate these files.

    I use Mac OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.1 on a MacBook Pro, 2.8 GHz i7 with 16 GB of RAM. I'm 50 Mbit DSL online.

    I never had any problems with sending or receiving mail. But since I upgraded to El Capitan Mac Mail has gotten incredibly slow and almost unusable. It will take up to 10 minutes to load a simple text message or attachment of the small (less than 1 MB) image. I don't have these problems when downloading something from a Web site. Download a 3 MB file takes 1-2 seconds.

    Also sending emails is incredibly slow. It takes several minutes, also just for the mails in plain text.

    And then Mac Mail seems often to synchronize, even if there is no new messages. It displays "loading 10 of 32 messages" which is stuck and loads forever. And nothing will happen until I restart Mac Mail several times.

    I am managing 5 accounts IMAP with Mac Mail, which is more than usual but not an absurd number. In addition, I never had problems before. They are partly accounts Google App and partially Zoho.com.

    Apple: What can I do to recover usable e-mail software? I don't want to go, but I have to examine it if it takes 10 minutes for an attachment to load.

    That has solved it for me (found here on the forum):

    • Make a backup
    • Close mail
    • Copy the ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail folder to a different location (in case something goes wrong)
    • Delete the ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail folder
    • Restart the messaging

    You will need to reconfigure parts of the mail, but it is now much faster. Let's see if that is still true.

    I saw your post on scanning problems you are having with your B210a Photosmart on El captain and wanted to answer you. You have the printer model does not have a comprehensive driver features and software available on 10.11, to this effect, you will not be able to scan with HP Software.     I see that the mail is stuck in a loop and the opening of many windows unexpectedly. Try to run Mail in 'safe mode' by following these steps:

    Open Mail and immediately hold down the SHIFT key until the Mail is opened. This causes the Mail to open without any message or box to the selected letters.

    Of Mail if closes unexpectedly when displaying certain messages.

    If the Mail normally opens, try to update your SMTP settings -Mail (El Capitan): list of outgoing mail server settings.

    You can also delete email accounts in Mail preferences and start over after export and save all important messages. To help in this part, see Mail (El Capitan): Configure Mail with your email accounts and Mail (El Capitan): import / export the mailboxes.
