  I create a page "Form on a Table with Report" (APEX 5). Table I has 3 columns: cat_key, item_value, item_description. The cat_key is a foreign key in a table with columns cat_key, cat_value. I created the report and everything works fine.  The page of the report shows my domain cat_key in number, so I want it instead to display the cat_value. I change the field cat_key to a text based on LOV, select my LOV and now when I view the page of report I get the "'ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from where sample, a join without key preserved table view ' error." The report uses the ROWID as a link to the edit page field.

  If I use the same tables and even shared LOV in a report page interactive, it works fine.

  This is a limitation of the IR Apex will rewrite your query to a query that includes the lookup table and the columns. So now you have actually created a query on an inline view, which causes the error. You can see the query apex created when running in debug mode. APEX will join the table of choice with your primary table. For example from one of my IR:

  Not at all practical. Change the original, never the PDF document unless the sky fell, the original is lost and cannot be done for money, and all backups have been eaten by termites.

  Master page items are locked to the master layer.

  There is no visual controls to unlock - unfortunately.

  You must click CTRL or CMD (Mac/Windows) to allow them on the pages.

  Note: once you do this, untie you them Master Pages.

  Any change to the item on the master pages will be included in these items "unrelated".

  I'm not sure if I'm looking in the section support correctly, but I have a problem with text recognition.  I ask the recognition of text and will work on 90 percent of the document.  It does not recognize text in pictures half the time.  I convert my pptx 4 slides pp pdf for my classes.  Ive read people say they use the service to flatten and re-run the recognition, but it does not work for me.  the only way I can make it work is to print to PDF and then run it again.  is it possible to run just recognition on the photo?  If I run just this page it still does not.

  OCR is the process in which Acrobat examines a picture based on the pixels of the text. It recognizes each character and it turns into editable text. Acrobat compares the thickness of form and feature of image for the fonts installed on the system during the OCR process. Renderable text is editable in the PDF file. Acrobat cannot perform OCR on a document that contains renderable text.

  A real solution for this problem is to convert the TIFF document to then combine several PDF files into one.

• Cannot select/copy/paste of Adobe Reader XI

  Machine in Windows 8, Reader Adobe XI.  I disabled the touch mode and I can see the bar to scroll to the right of the PDF document, but I can't select/copy/paste of the text.  All I see is a hand with the fingers on the PDF page.  It wasn't a problem before with earlier versions of Adobe.  It's something simple, but I am unable to understand.  Thanks in advance for the help.

• Save part of a pdf to another PDF document?

  I'm on Mac OS snow leopard 10.6.8.

  I've just upgraded to Acrobat X Pro since version 8.  With the v8 printer driver, I could display part of a pdf file and then print this view, mounted on paper format I wanted, and create a new pdf file just this part of the original pdf file.

  With Acrobat X, in the print window I followed this procedure, and then since there is more an Acrobat printer, I click on the "Printer" button that gives me the printing system window.  Still, I can't choose Acrobat printer because it isn't one, if I click on the "PDF" button and can then choose "Save as Adobe PDF".  I then get a message that "saving a PDF file printing is not supported.  "Instead, choose file > save.

  The problem is that I can't use Save to create only a part of a pdf file.  There is no no matter what choice to do this when you save or save as.  I also tried to "Take a snapshot" in the Edit menu, but will once again printed, I can't print to PDF.  I get the same message 'not supported' as before.

  So can you create is no longer a part of another larger pdf pdf file?  I am an architect and facing large drawings all the time. 24 inches by 36 inches or more.  I often need to create a pdf file of just a detail of a drawing to then send to someone.  My only choice is to reinstall the Acrobat 8 printer driver somehow so that I can back this ability?

  See if it works for you: make a file > save as > PDF and save a copy of your original.

  With the open copy, choose Tools > Pages > Crop.

  Create a culture of part of a page (or pages) that you want to include. Double-click the collection area to bring up the dialogue of cultures. Select the current page or range of pages to be included in your PDF selection. And click OK.

  Print from this file.

  Have recently copied to iTunes and pictures libraries in external hard drive. Both apps work well on iMac, on iTunes Apple TV is fine but unable to select Library of Photos from external hard drive via iTunes / folder / Home sharing / choose photos to share with the Apple TV. Can see the drive and can select iTunes folder but cannot select the photo library (in gray)

  Thank you, Sean. I found out what I needed to know to fix the DIF from a document from hp customer service. I was able to fix by restarting, it is to unplug the usb cable first from the printer, wait 5 seconds, plug the cable back in. Then I desconnected the cable from the computer, wait 5 seconds and plugged.
