Cannot start Firefox using quick launch, etc. Window of Firefox (or anything else is not started. Now using IE (Ugg)

I'm unable to launch Firefox launch button using / fast, Start Menu, or anything else, don't get no error message or of the Firefox window. Tried to uninstall and install then always without success. Cannot use the fix suggested to use a new profile because I don't get a Firefox window. Have a HP with Vista, RAM 2Gigibites, computer Pentium processor.

Like you, I found I couldn't yet launch FF28 and therefore could not try to create a new profile or add ons disabled.

Taking the advice of another poster and completely uninstalled FF28.

Then went to the site of the beta:

http://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/beta/

Installed FF29 (currently 29.6) and had no other problems.

She's still all extensions / add ons I have tried to run with FF28 but opens and runs without hassle.

Can only assume FF28 had some problems for some operating systems that are not there in FF29.

  • Respond to create/customize a toolbar in Windows 7 (replaces the quick launch for Windows XP)

    After several hours, with many MS research and research on google to try to get the famous and beautiful Quick Launch Toolbar that no longer exists in Windows 7, I thought it after 3 hours.  Here's how:

    Create a toolbar

    -----------------------

    1. create a folder on your system

    2. right click on the taskbar, select toolbar, select the new toolbar

    3. new toolbar - select displays a file dialog box

    4. Select the folder created in step 1-based

    Customize the toolbar

    -------------------------------

    1. right click on the taskbar

    2. click on bar tasks unlock

    3. right click on the new toolbar

    4. menu popup appears

    5. click on title of show (allows the user to hide the name of the toolbar, which is of the Deb Toolbar)

    6. right click again on new toolbar

    7. click on the text (allows to hide the name of the icon, IE.) Microsoft Office Word 2007)

    8. right-click again on new toolbar

    9. click on view (allows the user to change the size of the icons on the toolbar)

    10 lock the toolbar

    When I spent many hours and kept getting the Quick Launch bar does not exist in this version, it is true; HOWEVER, you can get everything too close with a custom toolbar.  No answer came close to telling how to customize a toolbar, but only how to create a toolbar.  Originally, I had posted a question, but then found an answer and thought that after having no chance he is on this site that I post the answer.

    So I hope this helps anyone who has upgraded to Windows 7 missing and are looking for this bar Quick Launch bar.  This is the closest you're going to get.

    No more frustrated.  NOTE TO MICROSOFT: The search engine provided by MS, you stick with your terminology.  I can't tell you how many times I reformulated my search with your terminolog and kept getting "taskbar" vs "toolbar."  The most I could get it is how to create a toolbar, and that's all.  Then you wonder why users get frustrated and I want to just throw it out the window (no pun intended - perhaps although YES).

    Today I was browsing webistes of ordinary wallpaper and suddenly my Firefox is crushed, and IE open to its home page. After that, in every way I tried to run Firefox, I had IE open instead. I did a full virus scan, obtained of the Trojans is wiped out, but the problem continues. Tried to restart and finally reinstall FF, but none of it worked. Never seen anything like this, someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for your awnser!

    Hello

    I installed an SSD in my laptop as the C: drive, and I did a clean install of Windows 7 using an official ISO image, which eliminates the partition HP Recovery, sorry . I have installed sp54001 - HP Quick Launch, which is correct, but the HPWMISVC service will not start. My research, I found that the service is supposed to allow interaction with the desktop. However, this feature was supposed to be turned off in Vista because of security risks. Any thoughts? Thank you very much.

    I did more research and it seems that HP Quick Launch, it's not what I'm looking for. It's good enough for me. I thought that special software was necessary. Thank you very much.

  • HP Quick Launch buttons for Windows 7 to work a bit now, they have stopped working

    So I installed windows 7 x 64 on my HP Pavilion DV9700t. I had no problem using the Upgrade Advisor. My current rating is 4.9
    Everything is much more vivid and works fine, except the HP Quick Launch buttons.
    Initially, they worked so I could control the volume buttons, mute and media. So I don't remember exactly what I did and I installed an update or a specific package of the software HP Quick Launch buttons and they stopped working.

    I do not use the system restore and I mixed through several HP software packages including: SP40139, SP44777, SP39425. These seem to install fine and starts the process of quick launch control. However, the buttons do not always work. I even started the HP Quick launch in Windows Vista compatibility mode buttons.

    So I was wondering how I can return to pilot initial KB that happened when I installed Windows 7. Which seemed to have done the trick, but I don't know what it was.

    HP is too lazy to support my laptop brand, even if it is more than enough to run Windows 7.

    Thank you!

    Hi Covrigus Deus,

    I will suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the HP Quick Launch button software and reinstall it back. You can check the latest HP Web site package.
    For help with respect to uninstall and reinstall, you can visit the HP website for the instructions.
    If, however, the Quick Launch button still doesn't work after you have performed the steps in the abvoe, I will propose you to complete the restore of the system.

    To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. System restore click Start, type in the search box and then click on the system restore listed programs.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    1. In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
    2. In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    3. Click Finish.

      The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

  • Cannot resize the Quick Launch toolbar.

    I searched for an answer to my problem all morning and everybody repeat how the new quick launch taskbar is too restrictive and it only lets you see three icons at the same time. Well, I have the opposite problem. Every, single icon than me or my wife adds to the Quick Launch toolbar is always visible and I don't have any of the sizing handles on it to allow me to resize it. I unlocked the taskbar and everything. It is really annoying because I want my important shortcuts in the quick launch, but I also want to be able to actually USE my taskbar. If I continue to put icons on the quick launch, it will extend to all the way to my system tray and those who don't adapt are simply not available. Can someone help me?

    Yes, because Windows 7 uses more a Quick Launch toolbar, so no "resize handles' I thought you may be interested in other options of the task bar to help keep the taskbar clear of both directions
    (right side now known as Notification area).
    May not be the answer you are looking for, but it's one of a number of "it's not broken, but we
    will remedy "monopoly issues $ oft unleashed in Win7"
    (one other 'Favorites' - taking away the option to disable the auto organize into folders).

    The only other option is the "always on"the cartel", etc. in the properties of the taskbar, but it combines only
    reduced apps / browsers.

    Hmm - speaking of "resize handles.  I just noticed that when the desktop is enabled (unlocked taskbar)
    the "sizing handles" reappear, but unfortunately work the wrong way autour if you want a clear
    Taskbar to display minimized applications or browsers.
    You can pull the handle from right to left and push apps/browsers minimized in the "quick launch" area on a up/down selection arrow. Not very practical is that?
    Good for those who want to keep their desktop icons displayed on the task bar, I guess?

    The window help-

    "The Quick Launch bar is not included in this version of Windows. To quickly open programs, you can pin them to the taskbar. For more information, see Pin a program to the bar spots.

    Hello

    First download the audio driver by using the links below and save the installer to your desktop.

    Audio driver - Windows 7

    Audio driver - Windows Vista

    Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation - ignore the warnings that you can see everything that is an earlier version.  Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  • A toolbar disappears from the taskbar. (Quick Launch toolbar)

    In windows 7 Home Edition premium, I have a frustrating bug. I tried to use the functionality of the toolbar to add to the taskbar and by doing so the addition of a quick launch Search menu that him. Sticky icons do not have a solution for me, so I need a quick launch as a toolbar to work.

    Do work was pretty easy, I just added the folder used for the quick launch shortcuts, I wanted to use. My problem is that every once in a while, when I turn on the computer, or when I restart it or even after disconnection and return newspaper, the toolbar, I added disappeared completely.

    Solutions I tried to solve this problem:

    (1) setting the registry values for windows save my settings at each reboot of the/log - off /sleep/shut-down etc.

    (2) save the theme after I have reset the toolbar and use it as my default.

    (3), to try to create a new user profile and move everything that I need to work on this new username and you try to install the Quick Launch toolbar again.

    (4) lock the taskbar after the addition of the Quick Launch toolbar.

    (5) remove the toolbars that could be clashes with the quick as the language bar launch (although I greatly need it for my work).

    None of these attempts at fixing worked , restart every second or almost everytime I sit down to work on my computer the same thing happens. Quick Launch disappears.

    W7 dear experts, I'm a fan of windows 7 and I like much more than XP or Vista, but two of them cost me much less expensive and had a simple feature to do me my job efficiently. the Quick Launch bar. I can't have 40 icons spread allover deliver to my office, so it's a very frustrating for me. Help, please.

    Oh and a friend of mine half jokingly suggested this could be a feature to discourage people from using a win7 Quick Launch toolbar, if it is the case let me know as soon as POSSIBLE so that I can go back to XP before I lose more time on this issue.

    Waiting for good news :) Philip.

  • Why Windows cannot start the Firefox Service on Local computer?

    Hello, Tech Savvy people-

    For some strange reason, the message in the title is what I get when I look under Services in administrative tools.
    I am told:
    Windows could not start the Service of Firefox in the Local computer
    Error3: the system does not have the selected path.

    I did a full scan of my files (sfc/scannow) and my drive (chkdsk); completed a full virus
    In addition, malware scan and all the so-called runs along fine.

    But Firefox 12 needs several clickings of surface, and when it finally arrived, several minutes.
    Boring.

    No idea why my local network or Local computer cannot start Firefox?
    Can anyone suggest how I could get my system to find this path?

    Firefox used to mount quickly enough, and my other browser, IE9 still does, even though I don't like
    using IE and for about 3 years found Firefox generally to be a superior browser.
    Feel a little miserable if I go back to IE.

    Thank you for answering this aggravation.

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.

    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.

  • Start up. I want to know how to customize programs that will run on my quick launch on the taskbar.

    Down below on the right by the time theres little thumbnails here that you can click to open up, like instant messaging, etc. I want to know how I can choose which ones to open it when I start my computer. I have to wait for all these things load when I start my computer.

    Quick Launch is on the left side of the taskbar:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/add-or-remove-programs-on-the-Quick-Launch-toolbar

    Read the above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    For program and icons start to start the Notification icons in the clock area, you will need to enter their programs and set them as to if you want that they start at startup or not.
    Here is an example with Messenger:
    You can also see what programs you have start at startup, using this program and make changes to the boot:
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
    This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more.
