Windows cannot uninstall this program, because another program is being installed.
I use Vista Home Basic Edition on Sony Vaio
When I try to uninstall QuickTime player (or any other program) I get a message saying "the program cannot be uninstalled because another program is being installed. Please wait for the program to complete the installation and try again. »
I'm not busy to install all programs and no matter how many times I reboot my computer, I still get the same message.
The reason why I want to uninstall quicktime (and all associated software Apple) is that I am trying to install iTunes on my laptop (to work with my iPod) but get a message saying that the installation cannot be performed because I need Quicktime Player. I have quicktime on my laptop and it works, so they told me to uninstall and remove all Apple programs and then install iTunes.
Problem is just that I can't seem to uninstall all the programs.
I tried to fix this by removing the quicktime in my program files. And when I try install quicktime again once I get the same message saying that I have to wait for another installation program before you continue the installation of quicktime.
At this point, I'm ready to try and "restore default settings", even if it means losing a lot of data. I just put the files I want to keep and restore my laptop. If it works I will, because I don't see otherwise.

original title: administrator, f8 safe mode access
My computer problem begins with not being about to uninstall a program. I need administrator permissions. I am the administrator with a password. I'm not invited to give a. Nothng happens when I press a button with a shield on it. I received another message that tells me "unable to open the access control editor: the system cannot find the specified file. I found the instructions online to restart the computer (by pressing the F8 key) in safe mode. Once in safe mode I can essentially take possession of the C drive and reset admin ACCT. in SUMMARY, I can't have with using F8 safe mode (I tried once bagillion) so I can not get access to my admin account and therefore cannot uninstall my program. Can anyone help?
I don't know anything about "reset admin account" but here are two things that may help the case to start in safe mode. First, enter the mode safe mode with f8 key is a matter of time. On my computer (Dell) during the boot process, I'm going to get a screen send me options of start of f2 and f12, which is to enter the BIOS. I can start hitting key f8 then but you will in safe mode unless I'm hit immediately after that the screen with f2 & f12 choices goes. I just hit several times for a few moments at this time.
If this does not work for you, here's another possibility: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/force-windows-to-boot-into-safe-mode-without-using-the-f8-key/

I just installed Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium on my Mac running OS X Version 10.5.8. Once the download is complete, I tried to access my apps to see all program names are grayed out. When I double click on it, I get the following message: "Cannot open this application because it is not supported on this architecture."
My computer is quite recent and it runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Someone else has experienced this problem or maybe having patches? I'm on hold with Adobe Support, but the waiting time is 1 hour 30 minutes... never heard of that before, but I'll wait as long as it takes.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
That error pop up if the application is not installed. Adobe is never known for very useful error messages.

I can't get rid of Ask program because it is not among my programs
I can't get rid Ask program because it is not among my programs in Control Panel. I tried to follow all of the other suggestions I found on the Internet but without a bit of luck. Can anyone help, please.
Hi, please try to work through Remove Ask Toolbar and Ask.com Search by Malware advice - the article is a bit old, so you have to improvise!
Note that not all programs removal allows to detect all malware, you may need to run multiple or all of them.
After the withdrawal, you need to reset your home page and search, what you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

using windows 7 in my HP Pavilion a1110n desktop and cd plays end. When I put a dvd, it won't play. I went into the menu devices and he had to manually update the graphics card - but it just says that the more recent driver already installed! What makes things worse is that I can't just walk out of the old graphics card because it is integrated in the motherboard! Please, any ideas?
