Cannot use editiable 'form' on App fields when the document is password protected. Used to be able to...

We have created manuals on Adobe Pro which has fields to fill in edit for notes and it is password protected. Everything seemed to work perfectly on PC and Mobile Devices until this past weekend when we noticed that on mobile device, edit the fields are locked. The security settings are defined for the user to change the editable fields.

Hello

When the password is applied to a PDF document, the PDF document will be encrypted.

Acrobat Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are not able to make any changes (for example to fill in forms or add annotations/comments) to encrypted PDF documents.

As you already know, there is no such limitation in the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Probably, give up. But

    * If you HAVE the password you can remove it with Acrobat Pro

    * You can ask the creator of the document for a file unprotected

    Sometimes passwords are automatically added and doesn't know not, for example, some banks. There is no solution.

  • How can I fill a date field when the document is signed?

    I have 4 fields of digital signature in a PDF form.  Next to each signature is a field of date (format dd/mm/yyyy).  I would like it so when a user registers the signature box that fills the date next to her field with today's date, then change to read only (so it cannot be changed).

    In Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, I have this form and it has the following fields

    Signature1

    Signature2

    Signature3

    Signature4

    DateField1

    DateField2

    DateField3

    DateField4

    Signature fields trigger a Topaz.GemSignPlus driver where the end-user will sign on an electronic signature pad.

    How do I use Javascript to detect when one of these Signature fields is populated and fill in the date in the appropriate date field?  I tried to create Boolean variables initialized as false for each field of GIS.  Then when the signature is complete, I try to change it true, but for some reason any my javascript detect that the value does nothing.

    I searched the net endlessly for this solution.  I can't believe I'm having a difficult time finding an answer.  I mean how many places you go where they ask you to "sign and date here."  Each document signature base I've ever seen also requires a date.

    In any case, here's what I have.  Functions, I have a script called JavaScript Document name populate date:

    function populatedate()
    {
    var bSignature1 = new Boolean();
    var bSignature2 = new Boolean();
    var bSignature3 = new Boolean();
    var bSignature4 = new Boolean();

    If {(bSignature1)
    DateField1.value = util.printd ("d/m/yyyy", new Date());
    }

    If {(bSignature2)
    DateField2.value = util.printd ("d/m/yyyy", new Date());
    }

    If {(bSignature3)
    DateField3.value = util.printd ("d/m/yyyy", new Date());
    }

    If {(bSignature4)
    DateField4.value = util.printd ("d/m/yyyy", new Date());
    }
    }

    In each signature field, I on the signing tab "this script is run when the field is signed:

    var bSignature1 = new Boolean (true);

    I'm changing to true see.  My thought is that if it is true that DateField1.value should print jj/mm/aaaa in her building in the Date() function.

    But maybe I do not get the correct context.  I'm new to Javascript in Adobe.

    It's a round script. Why not just use the signature signature of script to set the value of the field date? The correct syntax for this is:

    this.getField("DateField1").value = util.printd ("d/m/yyyy", new Date());

  • When I add a javascript for printing, it won't run if the document is password

    I created a form field and added javascript to print 'printed' date whenever a document is printed.  It's on, or Web site, and we need to fix (but allow printing).  However, when I set the javascript code is blocked and it prints the date I tested it before getting the file (and not the current date).  Anyone know how to enable javascript when the document is secure?

    Thank you

    Hello

    If you integrate Oracle UCM with autovue, document markup autovue linked to the main document by using the DOCMETA column. XMARKUP_BASEDID on the database of the Complutense University of MADRID. Then maybe you can record of the same document then change the markup document DOCMETA. XMARKUP_BASEDID with the DID of the new document.

    I'm lookng for a product where I can produce a PDF secure for several clients.  When the document is finished, I want to fix it with a password, to make it more difficult to copy, but then I want to record in a secure location, send the link and the password to the clients.  When customers go to download the PDF, they will have to if they accept the terms and conditions.  If it is accepted, they can download the document.  Working in DocumentCloud PDF services?  Thank you.

    Hi davidc21010281,

    You can try the DC Acrobat Adobe Acrobat download free trial | Acrobat Pro DC. Where you can create a secure PDF file (using Acrobat|) Securing PDF files with passwords) & send them to your customers (send and track online documents |) Tutorials Adobe Acrobat DC), on the other end, customers can download the PDF but they would need the password/certificate in order to open the PDF file.

  • The documents are automatically save instead of being able to open.  I am using Acrobat Reader DC

    The documents are automatically save instead of being able to open.  I'm using Acrobat Reader DC, Firefox, Gmail.  On Gmail, used to allow me to click on the arrow and select open or save.  Then I would record under and I could save the document where I wanted to.  Now, the only option for the arrow is a download and it downloads automatically.  Won't let me open.  I have selected Acrobat as always enable in the settings of Firefox.

    Very frustrating, wasting more time...

    Thank you.

    I have searched and searched and found a way to change the settings of Firefox.  Now it works as I want.  Thank you.

  • Add the date and time to a text field when the form is submitted

    Is it possible to add the date and time to a text field where the user is clicking the button of form submit?

    I created a custom send form button and do not use the distribution process to collect the results and would like to have a time stamp of when the form has been sent.

    Thank you!

    Sure. Before your submit order add a command run JavaScript with this code:

    this.getField("SubmitDate").value = util.printd ("mm/dd/yyyy hh: mm", new Date());

    Change the field name or date that required such boss.

  • Set the focus on the specific field when the form opens

    I use Acrobat Pro XI.  I would like for a specific domain focus when the form is opened.  Is there a form parameter or the Javasprict that should be used?  Where add Javascript code so that's the direction I must go?  Thank you.

    Yes, it can be done using a script. Go to tools - JavaScript - Document JavaScripts and enter this code (adjust the name of the field as your file, of course):

    this.getField("FieldName").setFocus ();

  • How can I get rid of zero in a calculated field when the form is empty?

    I made a form that prompts the user to enter data for specific years.  At the top of the form, the user places in the current year, i.e. 2000.  Column copy this year here, the second column adds five years and the third column adds 10 years.  I managed to create a simple script for each of these columns (so that when 2000 came; columns a, b, and c appear as 2000, 2005 and 2010) but when the form is empty a zero appears in the first cell, a 5 appears in the second cell and a 10 appears in the third cell.  I want the completely empty form so as to not confuse the person when they begin to enter data.  How can I write a custom script to eliminate the numbers in calculated fields?

    I would use a script for calculating customized for each of these fields. Something like:

    Calculation for reference year script

    (function () {}

    Get the value of the WCPYear field

    var v = getField("WPCYear").valueAsString;

    Set the value of this field. The value empty if WCPYear is empty

    Event.Value = v? v : "";

    })();

    Calculation script for field goal 5 years

    (function () {}

    Get the value of the WCPYear field

    var v = getField("WPCYear").valueAsString;

    Set the value of this field. The value empty if WCPYear is empty

    Event.Value = v? +v + 5 : "";

    })();

    Calculation script for the 10-year target field

    (function () {}

    Get the value of the WCPYear field

    var v = getField("WPCYear").valueAsString;

    Set the value of this field. The value empty if WCPYear is empty

    Event.Value = v? + v + 10 : « » ;

    })();

  • Can someone help me with a Code that allows you to hide all but the first few fields when the form opens

    My form has a section (subform) on top that is always open and then underneath it is dynamic and I want some subforms and sections to open based on users to input. I use action Builder to open the screen and have all the fields that are hidden, but I have too much subforms and must hide individually all subforms. Is there a code that allows you to hide all fields for me when the form opens, and then I can use action Builder to open just what I need based on a drop-down list button or radio?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Using LockAllFields of Paul's example, you could place the JavaScript code within the root node docReady event (normally 'form1').

    Please note that the last line is the presence of one of the subforms to visible return. Let's call it ShowThisSubform.

    // Declare some variables
    var allChildElements;
    var intNumElements;
    var currentElement;
    var j;

    // Get all the child nodes of the parent element (the root node/"form1")
    allChildElements = this.nodes; // "this" will use the element where the script is placed

    //Total number of element in the object
    intNumElements = allChildElements.length;

    // Loop through all the child elements
    for (j=0; j< intNumElements; j++) {
         currentElement = allChildElements.item(j);
         // If the element is a subform we'll hide it
         if (allChildElements.item(j).className == "subform") {
              allChildElements.item(j).presence = "hidden";
         }
    }

    // Show one of the subforms
    ShowThisSubform.presence = "visible";

  • The use of javascript to save a pdf file in a different directory and generating a new file based on the form fields in the document name.

    I built the following script to create a submit button that will automatically save the document in a different directory on my computer. It will also use data form 'customer' field and 'date' to generate the file name. I printed the myPath variable, and it seems that he printed the correct string. I get the following error:

    TypeError: redeclaration of const path

    any help would be appreciated.

    var customer = this.getField("Customer").value;

    var date = this.getField("Date").value;

    var path = "C:/users/lead/My Documents/Test / '.

    Reg = date.match(/(\d+)\/(\d+)\/(\d+)/ var);

    var myPath = "C:/users/lead/My Documents/Test /" client + '_' + reg [1] + "." + reg [2] + "." +

    Reg [3] + ".pdf";

    this.saveAs (myPath);

    Thank you. It turns out that simply remove this additional path variable does the job. I used that in an earlier version of my code and I forgot that this is. My syntax also seems to be right.
