Canon Toolbox 4.9 does not not with Windows Professional 7(x64)

I got my new computer and went into the process of installing the drivers and software for my Canon MF4270.  I downloaded the software directly from the Canon web site to ensure that I had the current drivers and software.  I can print and fax from my computer but I can't access the scan from the Canon Toolbox v4.9 function.  I am able to launch Windows Fax and Scan and use the scanner.  Based on the fact that the computer can interface with the scanner, I contacted Support Canon technique.  After working the issue with them for about 40 minutes, they referred me to Microsoft for a solution.  I tried to change the compatibility mode for the executable (MTFBOX. (EXE) and still not get the Toolbox software to access the scanner.  Is there a solution for this or am I just unlucky?

Please make sure that a certain folder path is in your path environment variable.

Let us determine the correct path to add to the Path environment variable.  Look in C:\Windows\twain_32 and it should be another folder in there.  For example, the name of the folder must be CNQ4803.

This is the way that is needed to be added to the path environment variable.

C:\Windows\twain_32\CNQ4803

Now, follow these instructions to get the dialog box change the path environment variable.

a. Control Panel > system > then choose advanced system settings in the left column.

(b) this will bring up the System Properties dialog box (it should already be in the Advanced tab).

c. at the bottom of this dialog box is a button environment variables .  By clicking on this button to display the environment variables dialog box.

d. in the bottom panel, scroll until you find the variable named path.  Select it and then press the Edit button to bring up the dialog to Edit of system variables.

e. in the Variable value text box, scroll all the way to the right, and then add the C:\Windows\twain_32\CNQ4803 path that was determined earlier.  Be sure to separate this value by a preceding semicolon.  And also be ensure not to make further changes to this value.

Now click OK and check if it works.

    Go to http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp140#DriversAndSoftware and download the driver and install it.  They have the driver who interested to operate it.

    If the former was preinstalled, NO, you cannot transfer it.

  • Computer does not load Windows after reset after installing HP-J6413

    Bought J6413 all-in-one; the software that is installed according to the instructions on the CD.  Attempted to restart after the installation, the computer hangs upward after shooting intself on and display the logo of the motherboard, does not load Windows.

    Printer is off, did reset, everything was fine, Windows loaded etc.  Repeat the action and came to the conclusion that the power of the computer with the printer off left (it's a fax machine, it should be all the time) or even reset the onboard computer after, say, install new software, prevents the loading of Windows on them turn on the computer.

    Only possible mode of operation is to put off the printer, then turn off the computer, then turn on printer to serve fax standby and then do the same set of operations before turning to new computer.

    Please refer to the manuals that you received for your PC and disable the "USB Émulation" and "USB devices starting" the BIOS settings.

    Run a full scan with Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner , and then run file System check (SFC) Scan and repair the filesystem - Microsoft Community.

    Uninstall any antivirus bloatware, use built-in Defender.  Use the special tool to uninstall any inflated AV: uninstallers (removal tools) for common - antivirus ESET Knowledgebase software

    Tweaking registry cleaners and the suites (not counting as CCleaner) ruin Windows.

    As a last resort, you can follow this excellent tutorial to make an own 8.1 Windows Installer which puts the quality of installation in your own hands you and keep.  Just stay away from Tweaking suites, stick with integrated antivirus, Defender, keep everything off Startup tab in Manager tasks, watch your freeware installs like a Hawk of snitches, periodically scan with Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner

    As you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, I suggest that you try to reset the Windows Update components. This clears the cache to update and will allow windows to check for each update is available on our server. If an update is found is not installed, which will appear under available updates.

    I suggest that you follow the steps below and try to reset the Windows Update components:

    1. Press Windows + X key.
    2. Click on (Admin) command prompt.
    3. Disable Windows Update services. Type the following commands and press on enter after each line
      1. net stop bits
      2. net stop wuauserv
      3. net stop appidsvc
      4. net stop cryptsvc
    4. Reset update components. Copy the following text and paste the same in the command line window.
      1. Ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
      2. Ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
    5. (Note: shortcut keys do not work in the Windows command prompt, please use right click to paste these codes.)
    6. Restart the Services. Type the following commands and press on enter after each line:

      4. net start cryptsvc

    Try to check the updates now, let us know if you encounter error messages.
