CanoScan 8400F drivers

My CanoScan 8400F worked fine with Windows XP however, even though I checked if it was compatible with Windows 7, it was, and I downloaded the drivers, nothing has worked. Lost my original CD set. All the answers?

  • Scanner CanoScan 8400F cannot find the WIA driver in Win7 x 64

Scanner CanoScan 8400F was working on win7 x 64 Home Premium Office.

I use it every month. Last month it worked fine. Now stopped working - get message saying cannot find WIA driver. WIA service stisvc runs under services.

I tried driver/software updates from Canon support - no help.

Scanner works on laptop with win7 x 64 Professional with updated drivers/software.

I think that the scanner is not serious, that desktop usb ports are in agreement, that support of Canon software is correct.

What does not work in the operating system? Thank you.

  • Where can I find a twain driver for the scanner?

Original title: twain driver for Windows 8

After having upgraded Win 8, my scanner has failed. Once verified, the problem come from twain driver. Pls help

Fixed mine. There is no drivers Windows 8 available on the Canon's Internet site or Windows Update. Follow these steps to install a scanner CanoScan 8400F under Windows 8 x 64 in desktop mode:

    (1) download and install the drivers Windows 7 x 64 on the Canon site.

    (2) launch Manager devices, right click and uninstall any unknown device (?), then scan again for new hardware and drivers Windows 7 x 64 installs automatically.

    (3) download and install the Canoscan Toolbox software from the Canon site.

    (4) run the Canoscan Toolbox software, select settings and click on the reset button to fix the non-working electronic copy, scan, PDF, mail scanner buttons.

    (5) reset.

The button is restored after the restart. Everything works as expected today. Good luck!

  • Satellite S1400-503: 16-bit or 32-bit Cardbus type?

    Hi all
my PC Satellite S1400-503 (INTEL Celeron 1.33 GHz) has two PCMCIA slots: they are "16-bit" or "32-bit" Cardbus type? Are there commands through which I can get this information in the PC?

I ask this because I bought a card D - Link USB-2 must be used in a PCMCIA location and use it with a scanner (Canoscan 8400F) it seems that the data transfer speed is not very good: in fact, the scanner works by intermittent, stop and restart several times in order to transmit the image it seized in pieces; so, it looks like a problem of speed in data transfer and bandwidth of the PCMCIA slot may be involved in this.

Thanks in advance. Hefte - Bologna - Italy

    Hello

CardBus 32-bit is the satellite 1400-503/PC-Card supported 16-Bit interface and you can use two cards PCMCIA Type II or a PCMCIA card type-III.

  • USB cable for scanner

Is it possible to buy a longer cable USB (2 barrel) for the CanoScan 8400F that is provided?

I suggest an extension USB, not too long and high quality. I don't think an extension will result in errors, I've used them in the past.

  • Canon CanoScan 9000F Scanner could not get current drivers for Windows 7 x 64 to work

I just bought this machine and I am unable to get current drivers for Windows 7 x 64 to work. Cannon wrote it's the operating system, HP says it is the Scanner Software. Any help for this problem. The drivers have been downloaded from the Canon website.

This scanner is not identified as compatible Win7 in http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Default.aspx

Canon claimed she had drivers for Win7 x 64?  I guess they did as you must refer to the version 16.0.1 so exactly what did say to blame the operating system [the two certifying their pilots as being compatible with Win7x64 & blame the BONE seem to be contradictions].

I guess HP is the manufacturer of your PC.  I would say that you go only to get a resolution back to Canon & solve the compatibility problem.  They have a users Forum?
