  Are you sure only that is... If so check the DSN to which RPD, it points towards... did you create a DSN or using the default?

  You check in the administration tool or dashboards that are visible on the presentation server? If you see the front-end server and if it is show you samplesales then this front-end treats the instanceconfig.xml

• could not able to open the repository in online mode after changing

  Hi friends,
  
  Currently, I open a file of RPD called SH in online mode... Since Inorder for it to open, I made the following changes in the configuration file of TNA , and also in instanceconfig.xml file...
  
  Shortly after this change after giving a user name and password of the RPD SH file I opened the repository of the HS in online mode...
  
  And also if I give the username and the password of RPD HS in presentation services I can able to connect to the BI responses to view reports of SH...
  
  Now I have to open another file such as APP.rpd RPD, before I edited in the configuration file of TNA as well as in the instanceconfig.xml file...
  
  After that, change if I give the respective user name and the password of the average APP RPD file, it is not to open the repository in online mode...
  
  He throws the error as
  
  nqserror: 37001 couldnot connect to the instance of oracle BI server
  nqserror: 43001 authentication failed for Star repository administrator: username/password invalid
  
  Since the error trying to tell that the user name and password is incorrect for the file APP.rpd...
  
  But if I tried to open the APP.rpd file in offline mode means, is opened giving the username and password of it... But in online mode, why he does not accept the same user name and password...
  
  Because the APP.rpd does not open in online mode, I could not able to open the presentation...
  
  How do I open the APP.rpd instead of SH

• Not able to open my RPD in online mode

  Hi all

  I am facing a weird behavior from the side of the RPD. Here is some additional information

  (1) I am able to open the RPD even in offline mode.

  (2) I am able to display the data in the side of the RPD

  (3) I am able to retrieve the output of the analytical side using the same RPD

  (4) when I open my administration-> open-> Online-> the box in the bottom tool is empty and open the button is grayed out.

  (5) I use the client on my laptop.

  (6) able to run queries that use PLSQL

  (7) file TNSnames seems fine and I am able to ping the server

  Please if you have any idea what can cause this issue id really appreciate it

  So in the BI Administration I try File\Open\Online, it opens a window "Open AnalyticsWeb online" where I have to type the administrator password, but after I did it I get another window that says: the AnalyticsWeb repository can only be opened read-only.
  I have read the Oracle documentation, but I can't find how to open my deposit of paint.rpd in online mode, in order to avoid the BI server reboot after each change!

  Close the RPD and restart the BI server. Now open online, it will work.

  you have found the problem, because the last time where the RPD is open you restarted the BI server. Do not restart the server when the RPD is open in ONLINE or OFFLINE.

• OBIEE 12 c - can't see application roles in Identity Manager (online mode)

  We would be able to see Application roles in Identity Manager when it is connected to the repository in online mode?  11 g, after the opening of management > identity, there is an option of Action > Synchronize Application roles.  That option is absent in 12 c.  I don't see any application roles in Identity Manager dialog box.

  I faced this problem in obiee 11g and open a Service request to the support.oracle.com. I got a solution less than an hour. (It was a bug and he suggested me to install a small patch)

  Try to install the update mode without failure or another account admin user. If it works, check if you still have the PDF problem. If so, try what is displayed below links Safe Mode.

  Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

  Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in the system Prefeences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  Isolate a problem by using a different user account

  If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  If it works in safe mode, try to run this program when it is started normally, copy and paste the result in a response.   You can try to find the real cause. Safe mode disables installed Extensions, themes (appearance) in (Alt + T) Tools > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also disabled - manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > general > use hardware acceleration when available. All these adjustments can be also enabled/disabled/changed manually to isolate the cause after exit safe mode and start Firefox normally.

  You really need to do is save all your user data.

  If you back up all your Firefox profile on an external device your Firefox app would be protected. Bookmarks are a great asset, but what are your passwords, your options, your extensions, etc.

  You can export your bookmarks to an HTML file on a USB key and access almost anywhere on any browser without installing it on a borrowed system. You must export the top with Firefox, and you should be able to use Firefox in safe mode. You can solve a lot of problems in Safe Mode, I would see if Firefox works in mode without failure.

  This solved the problem for me too, you can select the top of the file (in
  my case g:\ my documents-my pictures.)

  Properties-> Security-> advanced-> change permissions

  Check "include permissions inheritable" AND "replace all permissions of the child".
