CAPI2 errors in Vista

Since the last update December 09 win (among them the Malicious Software Removal Tool) is a number of CAPI2 notice to each start (events 90, 81, 11, 10, 30 and 80, but only 11 is marked error).
Five of the nine packages have been uninstalled because they were declared 'not applicable for my system' - Vista Sp2, 32-bit, Home Premium.  See here .

[Re event 11 *]: I made sure that both the system Temp and user directories have the correct permissions (full control).

Application logs suggest that McAfee files are perpetrators or victims of this dysfunction in a number of cases, if not all.  Conflict with the new tool installed?  Disable the virus detector McA does not solve the problem; Uninstall perhaps, but I can't do it.  Powering the removal tool or uninstall it would be nice, if it was possible.

Although there is no question of the major system failure, relevant advice are welcome.

*] Has not taken from the root list third-party auto update cab at: with error: a required certificate is not in its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

(From manual) disabling the 'Windows Media Player Sharing Service network' (sharing Media Player libraries to other networked players) committed the CAPI2 error disappear.
Absurd, but works (for me).

  • How to fix the 2343 error in Vista

When I try to install programs on it I get the message no install Error 2343 contributions. How can I fix this error in Vista Ultimate 64-bit

    Hi graycat2,

    1. What is the full error message that you receive?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    3. you receive the error message when you install programs on the computer?

    4. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Check and make sure that the Windows service install is running on the computer.

    (a) click on start tocollapse that includes this image, type services.msc in the Search box and click on OK

    (b) right click on the Windows Installer service and then click Properties.

    (c) if the box Startup type is set to Disabled, change it to Manual.

    (d) click on OK to close the Properties window.

    (e) right click on the Windows Installer service and then click Start. The service should start without errors.

    (f) click on the file menu, and then click exit.

    Method 2

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you place the computer in a clean boot state, and you try to install the program.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

  • Error install Vista Service Pack 2 and the incompatibility of Realtek

I just want to inform you that service pack 2 install gave me an error message when I installed it on a clean rebuild of my PC Toshiba laptop. Something about an incompatible driver. As I had already installed the latest drivers Toshiba pages, I chose the action 'ignore and continue' to install and the update has been completed successfully.

I then ran the utility Advisor upgrade of Windows (search just a Microsoft Web site to find) that checks the hardware/driver with Vista.

Their report indicates that the card Realtek RTL8187B wireless network driver has a problem with Vista and recommends to install the latest version of the driver. Since I do not have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?

The WiFi with this computer functions laptop, with the only "problem" being a second 45 delay to the awakening of the mode shall be able to open a new web page. This is the time it takes to establish a connection to a router/modem.

    > Their report indicates that the card Realtek RTL8187B wireless network driver has a problem with Vista and recommends to install the latest version of the driver. Since I do not have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?

You can try the page of the Realtek driver Realtek WLan driver.
There you can find the latest Realtek drivers for different chips Realtek.

But to be honest, I wouldn't be worried about this massage.

  • ITSS.dll error on Vista x 64 running MAX

When I open MAX and select the camera associated with the card PCIe-1429, I get this message: "C:\Windows\System32\itss.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or support software provider. "(see attached screenshot). I tried VAS2009 repair and resettlement; I always get this error message. The itss.dll in the system32 folder is dated from 11/02/2006 and is the version 6.0.6000.16386.

Your first post was unclear: I thought you were trying to install SP1 manually (after downloading the Setup program), not via Windows Update.

When you reinstalled Windows, the free trial of Norton would have also been reinstalled (but not valid, of course). Do you have (1) uninstall the Norton free trial once again and then (2) download/run the Norton Removal Tool before you (3) reinstalled NOD32? [Yes/No]

Remember: you can always open a free support incident. See my previous response.
