    Applies to:
    Oracle Forms - Version: 10.1.2.2.0 to 11.1
    Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Goal
    This document will describe how to close the browser window (without confirmation of the user) who was responsible for starting a session of forms.
    IMPORTANT:
    The sample program in this article is provided for educational purposes only and is NOT supported by Oracle Support Services. It has been tested internally, however and works as described. We do not guarantee it will work for you, so be sure to test it in your environment before relying on it.
    The code in this document uses Java Scripting to achieve his goal. If the client computer does not have Java script active or is blocked, this code will not work correctly. In addition, although this document was written as it applies to Oracle Forms, the functionality of the browser and how Java Script responds that it contains, is not related to the product forms. If, for some reason this code does not work for you, the problem is probably the result of changes (for example, updates) made by the supplier of the browser, or a client configuration that prevents the correct execution of the Java Script code. These problems are not related to the Oracle product and you should refer to the manuals of browser or Java script repository to debug the problem.
    This code has been successfully tested with Oracle Forms 10.1.2.3 using Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.0. Be aware that FF3 is not currently certified for use with Forms 10.1.2.3 or more. Other versions may or may not work for the aforementioned reasons.
    Solution
    Directions for use:
    1. using an html editor or text, create a file html with the following code:

    Your browser or system settings prevented this window to close.

    To ensure the highest level of security,

    Please close/quit immediately this browser session.

    2. save the html with the following name: close.htm
    3 store this file on the middle tier in a directory that has an associated virtual path configured on the HTTP server. You can use an existing path or create a new. For example, in the version 10.1.2 you can copy the html file to this directory:
    ORACLE_HOME\tools\web\html
    Practically, the above corresponds to the following by default:
    genres/html /.
    For more information about creating a virtual path to the HTTP server, refer to the HTTP Server Administrator's Guide.
    4. in the Forms application, choose the desired relaxation, where you want to run the browser is closed. Don't forget that by executing this code, the application will be suddenly terminated, therefore, it is recommended that the following code only appear in the trigger of FORM post forms.
    Web.show_document ('/ forms/html/close.htm','_self');
    5. compile and run the form.
    Out of the form, the browser calls close.htm, resulting in the closing of the browser.
    This has been tested successfully using IE7 on XP - SP3. While this code works with other browsers, for example, FireFox 3, a change of configuration in FF are needed to make it work properly.
    Manual steps required for FireFox:
    1. open an instance of the FireFox browser.
    2. in the address bar, enter the following command and press enter on the keyboard:
    Subject: config
    3. in the list presented, locate the following setting:
    DOM.allow_scripts_to_close_windows
    4. double-click on this setting to set its value to TRUE
    5. exit the browser

  • Close this window doesn't work don't not in publication as HTML5 on Acrobat Connect Pro with CP8

    Hi all

    I'm trying to get a button that closes the project window / at the end of a video. I use CP8.

    I can make it work when published as SWF Adobe Captivate.

    It works also when you publish as HTML5, but not on a LMS (Adobe Connect) system.

    I have tried different methods which

    -Successful run a JavaScript Window.Close =)

    -On the success - exit

    -Successful execute advanced action = Assign cpCmdExit with 1

    I also tried the slide on the output settings: output and end of project parameters publication Options: Action: close project.

    Nothing works.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much

    Aimee

    Hi love,

    You can test this to close the window of course:

    Insert the 2 buttons or smart shape used as buttons (as of the end of course buttons).

    The first button apply an action to run javascript and in the script window, use this script: parent.close)

    The second button apply an action to run javascript and in the script window, use this script: top.window.close)

    Download the draft published on your LMS and check whether one of these work for you.

    Thank you

    Himanshu

  • extracted - problem button close this window

    I noticed that the extract of "window button" close (on form elements) has redundent javascript that stop working.  #1 extract original doesn't not work.  #2 done.

    #1 < input type = "button" value = "close window" onclick = "javascript:self.close();" onKeyPress = "javascript:self.close();" ">

    #2 < input type = "button" value = "close window" onclick = "javascript:self.close()" / > "

    Anyone else notice this?

    One is designed to allow keyboard users to can click any key when this element is to close the window, rather than forcing the use of a mouse click.

    As you transcribed it here it is indeed wrong.  That's your mistake or how you found it? :

    onclick = "JavaScript:Self.Close();" onKeyPress = "javascript:self.close();" » >

    should be

    onclick = "JavaScript:Self.Close();" "onKeyPress =" javascript:self.close(); " » >

  • How to close multiple windows of firefox (not mulitple tabs)

    I often have several internet messaging Windows Open (often each window has several tabs). I would like to be able to leave all the windows with just a single closure of firefox. Currently, I can close each window with multiple tabs with a single large. I would like to extend this to several windows (each with several tabs).
    I just right click on its icon in the Solution Explorer, and one of the options is to "close all windows", and that's all. I would like to see this option available in firefox. Thank you

  • Having a problem with the message that ask you if "I want to close this window.

    I use a site that allows me to send cards to people.  I am a member and have paid my dues.  When I look at the animated map and click on continue that it does not do.

    I get a message from the Internet window explore who says "I want to close this page" if I say yes, it me bumps back to the previous page and allows me to send the card, if I say no, it remains open.

    What I want to do, it is to continue to write my message and then contacted the card.  I do not have this problem in the past and have not been able to reach a satisfactory solution.

    I opened the internet options on my internet explore and played around with some of the options in respect of the security.  It doesn't seem to help.

    Under Internet Options go to the Advanced tab and click the reset, it should reset all settings to factory default on your IE.

    If the problem is caused by a defective setting, this will take care of him. It will remove all the addon and toolbars, if you corrupt addons, this method will also take care of it.
    You will have to reinstall any addon is using the Web site you visit. (but after you have reinstalled the necessary addons, you should be fine).
    Hasta the proxima.
    Thank you

    Today, it was a good day, I didn't have to use my AK.
