Captivate 9 find and replace incompatible function

Hello. I tried to get him to find and replace function to work in the last several days now and find that it doesn't always. For example, in my project, I have the word "homepage" listed in five different slides, however, search and replace only considers it once and missing four others. What happens in several projects as well. Help, please.

You are looking in the text captions.  I guess that "homepage" is in a text caption?

    It is indeed possible, providing some text is inside a tag any.  It could be in a list, title, paragraph, div, etc...  Use of the Research: specific tag option.  See screenshot (excuse the sloppy image).

  • Find and replace function in file names?

    Is it possible to do a find and replace in the names of files, rather than the office or similar?  I have a large list of names of files that all have a problem with them I want to replace, but I don't want to pass by and do each manually!  A better way to do it?

    Hello exoticdisease,

    Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

    Select the files in Windows Explorer, press and hold Shift and right click on them. Choose copy from the menu in the path. Paste the list in any editor you prefer. You get the full path for each file, but a simple find/replace will clean up if necessary.

    I don't know if it of what you're looking for or not.

    If please reply and let us know if this solves your problem or if you need further assistance.

  • The powerful ' find and replace ' features are missing pages

    It would be good if the development team of Pages read the questions and the problems posted on the apple Support communities.

    Find and replace invisible characters (tabs, returns, etc.) have disappeared in the Pages for older versions.

    Other researchers suggest that the functions are in the NON Apple software. Duh. TextEdit not more and not pages. Disappointing, can not describe the feeling.

    The new Apple:

    "He Just (not!). Work' and 'where's the Hell... ».

    There is that one thing I use 5 Pages for: drawing, which can be fun in its limits. As a designer, I like he is aligned with the alignment that makes things very fast for me. Unfortunately, other sucks.

    Pages ' 09 is pretty horrible at drawing but great for the layout and productivity. The contrast between the two is remarkable, when I switch between them. If only I could have 5 Pages, in Pages ' 09 drawing tools, I could happily mix 5 Pages completely and be totally unaware of anything that does not work or works so badly she may as well not exist.

    2016 is coming with the editor of affinity, I hope it turns out as well as the designer of the affinity and Photo of affinity, but doubt that it will be the combination of WP, PAO and spreadsheet that makes Pages ' 09 so awesome to work with.

  • How can I change a VI that is related to "NI_Excel.lvclass:Excel find and replace (str) .vi

    I need to create a new VI ' Excel find and replace (str) .vi ", for my own needs.

    LabVIEW does not allow me to do, because VI belongs to, "NI_Excel.lvclass."

    Instead of find and replace - I'd like to find him a string and tell me which column and row it is in.

    Thank you

    Have you tried to do this, even the jury of Exceldiscussion forums?

    You'll probably find what you want, or close at least something you could learn from.

    Can you open the VI you want to change?  Even if you are not allowed to copy, if you open it and see what it does, you can the recode yourself using the appropriate ActiveX functions.

  • Find and replace

    Hi all

    One of my colleague working on a program with more than 100 cases of the same enum (without type def as a constant knot, of control and property).  It must update the enum (surprise), so he needs to make the change on all the enum 100 +.  I showed him how to do a type-def, and he could replace the 100 + with new enum type FED.  It's a lot of work manually, so I tried to use search and replace, but it won't let me choose the new enum type-def we want to replace the enum 100 + with.  If I do find and replace, I can exclude the property node?  If I, the field node would get linke for the new enum?

    What is the best way to accomplish this task?

    1. I was able to find all the constant enum and replace them with something else.  Is it true that I can replace only with similar data type?  For example, I can't replace a constant enum with an add function.  I tried to change the enum to the ring to digital and numeric Enum.  They worked, but sometimes there is a glitch, where I have to find me and replace twice to make it work.  Have you seen this before?

    Yes, there are replacements that don't work because they are not simply doesn't make sense.

    2. I was able to easily find the enum constant, but for controls of the enum, I needed to go under others-> terminal façade.  I found the controls, but there is a slash sign beside him.  I assumed that meant cannot be operated.  I tried to replace the enum with some other control, and I can't.  How do you do search and replace on a control of enum (not constant).

    The search and replace has some limitations, and you met a. You can do what you want to do by the script. See attached example, which replaces the controls that have a label that starts with 'cc' with the typedef. The criteria for which controls replace yours. I just chose that according the example VI that you have provided. Modify if needed.

  • How can I change the registry values with a common search for the string and replace the function where I don't do all manually?

    Due to problems of space with my installation of XP Pro, (operating system has been installed on a 4 GB partition and I did have a copy of the OS to do a new installation) I am trying to move a number of files on a mounted drive.

    It is a way to search an entire record of [SPECIFY FOLDER] "C:\Program Files\" instances and replace each with "C:\Program Files\Overflow\ [SPECIFY FOLDER]" as a common discovery replace function?

    Also, I'll have to move several "Common Files" files in the mounted folder 'Overflow '. The method to make learning one should help me to do both. Manually, it will take most of thousand years that all the files in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components
    the files seem to have a key value have changed.

    I have already uninstalled and reinstalled some programs at the desired location, but many still use the "Common files" folder despite my having already changed the default installation directory path in the registry. Any help would be appreciated.

    One way:

    1. Start Regedit (start-> Run-> 'Regedit')
    2. Select the branch of the registry, or you are interested in changing.
    3. The export of this branch of the registry (file-> export) in a ".reg" file
    4. Use a programming editor (for example, the freeware Notepad ++) and use the "Find and replace" function to make the changes you want.  Save the modified file.
    5. After making the changes, double-click the .reg file to fold changes in your registry.

    As always, keep a backup of your original registry in case things get really bad and know how to do to restore this backup your machine should not be able to start.

  • Track changes by using find and replace

    I use Acrobat DC.  When you perform a find and replace function, is it possible to change? Thank you

    If that's the standard in the world of practice then the people in this world don't know what they're doing, I'm afraid.

    You should never modify a PDF file directly, unless it is the only possible option. You should always go to the original file format, edit it and then generate a new PDF from it. Do it directly in the PDF application problems. Even changing a single letter can cause serious problems with the layout of the file.

    You can convert PDF to Word using Acrobat, but it will never be perfect. The two formats are very different from each other.

    The quality of the result will depend on how the file was created originally. More consistent, it's the standard PDF better will be the result. The general rule 'Garbage In, Garbage Out' applies here. If the PDF file is a mess, if the results of export it to another format will be.

  • InDesign, find and replace

    Hi, can anyone help with this problem, I have tried searching online a few times, but no luck.

    I have a paragraph with several capital letters in square brackets, for example: AAAAA (1) or (2) BBBB. If I need a "BOLD" of each of them, I will have to look for each other and manually "BOLD".

    Is there a function in find and replace that can auto search for this kind of texts and "BOLD" of all?

    Or GREP functions?

  • Find and replace the script in Question.

    Hi all

    I searched for a way to show the amount of changes here?  My script to find and replace is working however, I would like to see if there are changes 0 or 100 so that we know how much if any of the corrections have been made.  Basically, I want to show him the same type of information as the (Native find replace in Indesign). If there is a link that talks about this please point me in that direction.

    I found it... «changes var = ' must be set to the line in function changeGrep()...» I've got an example of script grep for you that replaces the word "December" 'Months' and alerts as to how many changes have been made.

    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "December";

    app.changeGrepPreferences.changeTo = "month";

    changes in var = app.documents [0] .changeGrep ();

    var numChange = changes.length;

    Alert ("the changes have been made." + numChange);

    Asked if Framemaker has a global find and replace function cancellation capital letters in sentences. I remember vaguely word being able to do that, but it's been some time that I used Word. I inherited a document in which the author used caps init on almost everything.

    Find/replace is powerful in FrameMaker but doesn't address this specific issue. If you want to stay in FrameMaker remedy, you can either:

    1. Enter the text formatting toolbar to access the case for change (dark red) buttons:

    2. use keyboard shortcuts:

  • Find and replace text in documents invisibly

    Hello

    here in this forum I found the Russ find/replace function in ExtendScript, with which you can find and replace text. The script works perfectly when the documents are opened. In the case of invisibly open documents, that the script does not work since TextSelection is obviously applied. Refer to link:

    https://forums.Adobe.com/message/4032650#4032650

    I want to find and replace text within a structure of book, it would be useful if I could do it in documents that are not visibly open (Constants.FS_MakeVisible = false). Does anyone have an approach to find and replace in documents that are not visibly open? Or can someone confirm that this is only possible with TextSelection, which means that it does not work in documents open invisible?

    Thank you very much!

    Concerning

    Apollo102

    Apollo,

    I looked into this and I was able to reproduce the problem. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a perfect solution. Running in the debugger, I found that the failure occurs with the Find() call. All paragraphs, the text ranges, etc. are valid... it's just that the Find() call fails to find anything.

    I found that if you turn on/off the display, all of a sudden the Find() operation works with the hidden document:

    doc. IsOnScreen = true;

    doc. IsOnScreen = false;

    I don't know if this is a practical solution and of course, you may as well open visible in the first place. Would be of no help to just disable the updates with the interface?

    App. Display = false;

    Just be sure to return true at the end of the script

    I'm sorry I couldn't find a complete solution. It might be possible to appeal to something that makes the hidden document searchable, but I did not understand it.

  • Find and replace the work of the Meta Descriptions?

    If someone has found a way to make a site-wide find and replace, to access the Meta Descriptions, titles or embedded HTML?  I am involved in a project of cloning of dozens of web sites Adobe Muse & change text in various areas.  It would be a HUGE timesaver.  Appreciate all the help that can be offered on this topic!

    Thanks for getting back to me on that.  Search for replacement & is great, but it's a disappointment that only the body of pages can use this function when it has so much important text in page descriptions and titles!  I would love to see this feature added to a future version of Adobe Muse... Any chance you could forward that request to the right person to review?

    Thank you!

  • Turn on Find and Replace Options

    I noticed on the menu change in lifecycle designer, it provides two functions find and replace.  However, they are still grayed out.  How activate you their use?  I had a number of cases where these features would be helpful.

    You can use it for this purpose too.

    In the XML Source, you can replace almost everything (the names of fonts, characters, words and expressions in the fields of form, legends or scripts, also sentences and scripts, properties etc..).
