• Captivate swf issues navigation - buttons sometimes work, sometimes not

  I have a single file Captivate 5.5 with 100 + slides. I have the back and buttons next on most of the slides, as well as navigation buttons to slides of early for the various sections in the module.

  Some nav buttons work well all the time, some never work right and some are intermittent - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they do not they either go to the wrong slide, nothing happens.

  I'm puzzled why this is happening. The properties of the buttons that work are identical to those that are not. It is possible that I have slides quiz grouped throughout the module. I wonder if the problem might be related to that.

  Any ideas?

  The malfunction buttons are placed on Quiz slides?

  Can you copy and paste all the slides to a new empty project at the same resolution and republish that. (Note, you must deselect the result Quiz slide before copying, as it can ' be copied)

  In this case all navigation is made impossible by default, sorry about that. It's the same for the bar of reading, not only for the table of contents navigation.

  If you have only a slide before the test, I recommend you to look for another solution: a normal issue of slide, but don't add his score to total score or create a custom question slide.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9780 issues navigation

  Hello

  I just bought Blackberry Bold 9780 unlocked from the SHARAF DG dealer in U.A.E. and I use it with my network provider.

  My camera is capable of 3G, but I'm not able to browse the internet. When I try the below msg appears.
  "It is not included under the current regime of navigation via the cellular network service. To browse the web, you should use the Wi - Fi or contact your service provider to change your plan.
  I have not registered to the BIS because I want to browse the net more 3 G data packages because it is tailored to my needs.
  Internet works fine with a Wi - Fi connection, but when I use Blackberry App World or Opera browser I get the same msg mentioned above (even with a connected Wi - Fi connection).

  I suggest you contact your service provider to verify that you have the right BlackBerry Internet package that includes the Blackberry browser.

• Captivate SWF issue 9

  I'm trying to publish internal training (former SWF with AS2 files) 9 Captivate. SWF files that I can play in the browser without problem, when I publish in Captivate (format Scorm2004) in the slides I can't play all of the SWF file, but a part.

  You can change the framerate in Captivate to 25 fps. This means that the entire project will be converted to this framerate. Go into preferences, editing, project, publication settings.

• Captivate UI issues

  So I installed just 8 Captivate and I'm getting used to the new user interface.  I have to admit that I get angry when the UI changes on my apps - I'm sick of changing things just for the sake of change of suppliers - I guess I'm old school.  So I would like to customize some aspects to make it work the way I'm used to-if possible.  Here are my questions:

  1. I know some people will love the new type old tape with all the options of the Menu insertion bar, but I'd also have the menu Insertion is the way it ALWAYS has.  In any case, to add the options back in?

  2. the edit box now there up to a few options.  I find it too confusing.  I publish on SCORM much and I liked having to go and check the adjustment from the editing area.  Now I'm out of luck on that too?

  3. can reorganize you the way in which the elements appear in the Ribbon bar?  For example, I don't want the option to publish all the way to the right.  I would like to but it on the left.  I can move it around on the Ribbon?

  4. I think that the lack of options in the menu forms is boring.  Sometimes, I want to see that ALL forms are at the same time.  I don't want to have to click on a basic shape and then see if any of the sous-formes meets my needs.

  It seems now in general, Adobe has added additional 'clicks' of things I used to see in advance.  I don't think that it's necessarily a good thing.

  You are not alone... I love the changes if they improve the usability of an application, but in this case the new UI is not that at all.

  Try to answer:

  1. in any case, you will have to do it with the button bar to big for most of the options insert; very sorry about that. It is not called a Ribbon, which was change for MS applications (not always very good either).

  2. even respond, no way. For publication to word, you can use the file menu.

  3 captivate was never good in customization, even in previous versions. There is now even less the case. New: negative response.

  4. completely agree, nothing to change there either.

  I'm a little surprised that you don't know the loss of workspaces. I found that immediately the more boring, but the Expert user interface fourth option in preferences) can help. At least I can control now that the panels are visible, anchored or floating.

  Most of the workflow should now indeed many more clicks. That was my first reaction, and even after 7 months of use of CP8 I still think that it takes more time to develop and change projects.

• Captivate 7 issues cached when you set up a quiz

  I met an obstacle on the creating a quiz in Captivate 7 using Virtual PC on a Mac laptop. I get an error that the cache files needs to live in a local folder and even when I created this folder in the My Documents folder on my desktop, I always get the error message and am not able to set up a quiz. Is there a will for this problem?

  Crash with Captivate 9 issue has been resolved now. Please follow the steps below to activate the license 9 Captivate:

  If you have 8 Captivate is installed on your computer, please it launch everything first

  • Go to help > log out
  • Please log out of the next window. Now close 8 Captivate.
  • Now launch Captivate 9 and try to activate\sign using your Adobe Id and password
  • It should start fine.
  • Now 8 Captivate should also work correctly.

  The following steps should solve the problem. Please do not hesitate to right me back to the case where you are facing any problem.

• Looking for ideas of navigation... clarify the terminology used in the project

  Hi people... looking for some ideas for my Captivate 5 projects navigation.

  I have a project which is executed automatically, which means it does not require the participant to click on previous/next buttons to proceed with the project. I display the standard navigation in skin buttons, however. I use also the voice-over to tell the whole project. On several slides I use specific terms or concepts that the participant may want to get more information on the... which I am more than willing to provide.

  What I would like to know many of you seasoned users of Captivate is how you would allow participants to get more information about a specific term / concept presented as underlined text in slide balls without interrupting the flow of the entire project. I thought to use click boxes that send them to another page (branching) and then provide them with a button that we continue them with the project from there. I also considered to use overview legends, too, but if they don't find the bearing before the slide advances, they miss the opportunity to ride on this point. I'm not a big fan of prompting the participant about the existence of the bearings,... I just use underlined text indicating a "hyperlink" so-to-speak.

  Anyone have some creative ways to this address?

• Navigation between the SWFs in the output of the aggregator

  The CP4 aggregator is an excellent tool again, but I need some advice on customization. Because the aggregator generates an HTML and SWF that serve as the skin for the films Captivate it loads, on-board navigation in Captivate movies (i.e. "chaining" films using "Load project" or "load URL / file ') no longer works. "Load project" fails because there is no HTML file to launch, and "Load URL or file" throw the user off course and the target SWF in the parent window. That means the user depends on the table of contents to navigate between Captivate movies.
  
  I hope that somebody figures a way to control the SWF aggregator since in Captivate movies so navigation between Captivate movies can be achieved with a next button or other object.

  After that play with it some more, Steve is right... Captivate movies added to a project aggregator do default Garland. Specifically, what has worked for me puts the end action 'Stop' in the project preferences, the last slide on the the exit action to 'Go to the next slide' and the next button or click action box to "continue". Works great!

  I know that there is a problem where the Captivate decides for you that you do not get to use the games with pre-test bar. I do not have a pre-test, but I use branches and inquiry into matters where I record response but not ranking it... This is why my PlayBar options not available?   Two situations where Captivate limits of navigation:

• How to display the correct click box in review Quiz?

  I am using Captivate 4, Flash output.

  I have an image in which the person has need to click on the appropriate icon to get the right question.

  When we go to the quiz of reviews on, how can I do the click see the box (so that they know what they should have clicked)?

  Don't use a clickbox to do this, use a hot spot question instead.  A 'question' based on a clickbox will not show your Quiz reporting comments without a lot of fancy advanced Actions.  Point Captivate hot issue would allow the user to click on the appropriate icon to indicate their choice, and that choice will appear in review Quiz.  I think it would be a much easier and more reliable way to achieve your goal.

• Exit possible skin & free jump to the last slide?

  Anyone know if there is a way to maintain the ability to "Resume data" without using the skins for the navigation?

  This is the problem...

  I never liked using skins in Captivate to manage navigation for a number of reasons - for the most part, I like being able to manage navigation myself, screen by screen, because I use the branching in a number of ways. (And I hate the progress bar).

  So what I have always done all this time (v1 - 3) is to create my own Exit button on every page that jumps to the learner on the last page, which is of course the page blanche.2 seconds. And the project is set to "Close to the end," so at the end of this seconde.2, the lesson closes just as it should.

  So, here's something frustrating...  And I can't believe that I have NEVER run into this problem before... Of course, when the project is defined in this way, and settings of 'Customization of LMS' DO NOT show never 'send resume data', the user can never run SCO a second time through a LMS System. What is happening is that, when a user clicks the exit time the first they visit the SCO, they are taken to the last page, and at the end of this page, the SCO closes as it should. However, when they try to go back in the OCS, their last known page has "" (because 'send resume data' is selected) a bookmark it so that they are passed to the end, and then the lesson closes automatically.

  Anyone knows how I can (1) avoid the skin and (2) allow an output which is not access to the end?

  1. you don't need the progress bar? Here's how you can get rid of it. Go to project > Skin Editor. Under the tab "Playback control", uncheck "progress bar". If you do not need the 'playback control' itself, clear the check box 'Show playback control '.

  2. I see another way to release of the film. Using scripts. This is how you can do it.

  -Open dialog box Actions of project > actions.

  -Create a new action to give a name to your script. Lets call it exitProj.

  -Your script will have just a single line: rdcmndExit: = 1

  -Click on save, and then close

  -Double click on your Exit button to open its properties.

  -Choose 'Advanced Actions' for its action on success.

  -Choose the script that you created that is to say exitProj.

  -Click OK.

  Now, by clicking on the button must come out of your project.

• Issues of navigation of gel - Captivate 6

  I have a unique situation that goes with a simulation project where I jump on a blade of some who has sub navigation and when the user clicks on the subject under the project freezes from anywhere from 7 to 12 seconds. Once the next page poster there are three buttons, they can click to jump to a section. When they click on a button, the system freezes again but then does not progress. And then he makes the defective buttons. This same project will be randomnly display icon of black loading in the middle of the project as well and never disappear. You can still use the CBT but the bearings are disabled. Finally when the problem occurred, she also randomnly will play no audio that was imported to the slide.

  • LMS - SABA - the issue occurs when the edition of our LMS or just published to a Web server

  Troubleshooting so far

  • I thought it may be related to distance, that the project was to 'jump', so I moved the problem closer to the slide menu section and that did not help.
  • I had the menu go to a different page thought that was the issue. Without success
  • Published in Captivate 7 demo. Without success
  • Colleague has published. Without success

  This loading with the gray overaly image NEVER disappears. Some of the buttons will work randomnly work with this image like this. For example, I could click on Main Menu and blow it, but other times I could click on it and it does nothing.

  Help! I apologize about the "random" at all, I know it's figruing it that much harder. I will update this post with progress on other issues, I still have to try as well.

  This project has already passed the deadline and I really don't want to have to recreate it.

  I thank very you much for troubleshooting offline that you and Adobe have been made. As a result, we have had success.

  Community, as unique as I thought it was, so was the resolution.

  Adobe had me deselect both options in the preferences and my record is now fluid and all the "quirks" disappeared.

  I had to select Edit-> preferences-> access to the Quiz section-> select settings...

  Deselect 'Conscious branch' and 'display the progress '.

  I re-publiished the file after the deselection of these two options and have no problem.
