Capture full web page images

I am interested to get printable versions of some pages web test that I built for use with the client. I suppose I could take screenshots, but have been looing by DW with Fireworks, PS, etc., but nothing jumps right.

Ideally, the image of the page could be printed by itself (and it would be wonderful if I could add comments and other vector images as notes overlay) or be able to shoot the picture in a Word document and comment it.

Thank you

Tom

Thank you all

Between Acrobat and SnagIT, I have all the tools I need.

  • How to capture a web page that scrolls

Is there a way to capture a web page that has to scroll because it is too big for the screen? Is it possible to ensure that the person can scroll the page when they want to? I designed a work around, but it is not natural.
    Thank you

    Hello cptmcnair,

No, sorry, Captivate does not in any way to allow learners to do out of the box. To achieve the effect that you are looking for (and assuming you own Flash), you could create a panoramic interactive scrolling effect in this application and then insert this as an animation / animation slide in Adobe Captivate.

  • Saving as a single .html does not include the full web page (with images and properly formatted) as it did before! What happened here?

First of all I must emphasize that I keep always up-to-date as soon as a new version of Firefox will appear.

Now, a few months ago Firefox was able to save complete web pages as a single .htm file (including images and styles). Proof of this is that I have done it then. But now, after a few Firefox updates (sorry, but I can't identify exactly which of them might have been the one that messed up for me), while he was trying to exactly the same thing on the same website it is no longer possible. What happens is that now to choose the option 'Save the Web as HTML' (which I think is that I used to select before) it will not save the images and styles of web page, only the basic text and the home page anchors while he primarily save!

I still have the old .htm files, I saved before (I can give them to you) and they work again properly on any PC (I tested), so it means that it is not a .htm file using the cache on my PC to render the images links to the file.

I am aware that I can choose the 'Full page' option, but it creates a folder that I don't want to, so I'd rather have the old option to export the web page in a unique and properly shaped file that includes images!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Tool using capture to capture a Web page which continues under the view of screen

How to capture an entire web page with tool captures if the page continues under the view of the screen?  When I pull the slider down, the screen does not scroll down.  I use Widows Vista Home Premium.  Thank you!

    Hi SSOMERFIELD,

This is normal. You will not be able to scroll to capture a Web/window page that continues under the screen using the cutting tool.

  • Open full Web page using Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Hello: I just got directions and saved in the folder my documents as "complete Web page.

How to open (or what I can) the file?

This is my first time using this forum.  So if I need to be more specific, let me know.

    Thank you.  Carolyn S.

It's weird.  If you use Chrome, however, I'm not familiar with it.  I would try to save the website using Internet Explorer save option instead.

Another method is to choose Print, but use the "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" printer, which saves the Web page in a saved file (similar to an Adobe PDF file).

  • Web page image file name

I wish that my files on the web page to keep their names instead of 1,2,3,4, etc.

    Is this possible?

    Alex,

Use the fields title or caption to the file name, or you can even use the text in these fields Templates Editor to compose your own caption/title with any metadata you want:

  • I can't capture scrolling screenshots of Web pages more since the new design of the tab.

Since the launch of the new design label in Firefox, I can't use the scrolling screenshot of page in standalone clients or modules. I can capture scrolling web pages in other browsers, but Firefox is my main browser and I don't want to switch to Chrome. Is there another medium or that I have to wait for the next version of Firefox that solves this problem.

Window capture for 2 different stand-alone clients place the box above the tabs that seems to prevent any scrolling. All the advice that can get this working again? I tried using SnagIT and PicPick Portable. Does not work for the latest version of FireFox. Thank you.

  • Left side bar on a Web page full-width

Hey guys, this pertaints to my question previously posted, but I'm going home with a new approach of asking the audience. I have a width full Web page I want a vertical sidebar to be fixed on the left edge. I want to scroll down and see the rest of the menu, the current method is pinning it, and while this works to keep it on the left, he does not when I scroll down.

I tried to work with the scrolling options and then modify the html and css code to make it, the left float, but it won't work for some reason any.

Cannot not have pinned objects and put the scrolling top option apparently and when I tried to go to effects, the scroll option does not - I have an updated version that I pay monthly for so so not sure about this.

    Hello

With the native functionality of Muse if we place any element on the page, then we can apply scroll effects.

Cannot scroll objects pinned on the page.

  • Firefox 29.0.1 will only print complete web pages, will not allow the selection of printing

just updated to firefox 29.0.1. now, I can't highlight and print a selection. I can highlight a section, but when I hit the "print" key it goes to a page of print preview, highlighting is gone, it displays the full web page (on which I can't highlight), and then when I hit print again, I get the menu print properties, but it won't let me choose the 'selection' in the range of impression-obviously because my 'selection' disappears when I go to the page of Print Preview. There, can anyone help? Of course, I'd appreciate some tips! Thank you.

Use Ctrl + P (file > print; if necessary press F10 to display the menu bar) to get the window with the choice of the selection.

I have been using the example of 2012.vi Rip Web text LV to read the following web page:

Unfortunately the built-in control doesn´t WebBrowser displays information of the full web page. First a Script error multibordure (see attachment) and, possibly, a message that 'the browser is out of date' will be displayed in the control embedded WebBrowser (see attachment).

I appreciate if anyone has a solution to this.

If the page you access requires a certain version of IE (the control uses the default IE7, I think), there is a registry key change you can do to make the Web browser control to use a newer version of Internet Explorer. See here for more information: https://weblog.west-wind.com/posts/2011/May/21/Web-Browser-Control-Specifying-the-IE-Version

Note that it applies to the executable runs the WebBrowserControl - what is LabVIEW.exe in the development environment, or YourExecutableName.exe in the runtime.

  • Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

  • How can I create a link to an image that is located on an ftp site to a Web page that is located on another.

How can I create a link to an image that is located on an ftp site to a Web page that is located on another.

I managed to do it with the full path of the link (file:///C|/Users/myname/Documents/familyK3/image1.jpg), but as it is quite long, I would use the relative path. To be clear, I have 1 site that spans 3 different storage locations for FTP. site1 (named familyK), that contains the page. On this page, I have an image that is in the images on training3 (named familyK3). I tried... / familyK3/images and... /... (/ familyK3/images, but I don't get to see the photo in DW (since it usually refers to an image in the same folder (root)) and not to another location).

    I use dreamweaver8.

  • My web page uses svg images, but when the svg is printed by Firefox they are pixelated with bad resolution.

I realized a web page that uses svg images. One of them is here:
    http://donwagner.dk/JZSS5.4.svg.

The svg is produced by Adobe Illustrator, CS5 version. Seen in any browser, the images look good at any magnification, but when I print the page in Firefox, the image is blurry seriously, apparently because that pixelation uses the wrong resolution.

The same phenomenon occurs in all browsers, not quite as bad in Chrome, but still not perfect.

Do you have plans to fix this bug, or do you have a work around?
