Capturing vs import 24pA Footage

Is there a difference in the image quality between the two?

I'm shooting in 24pA, but I can't connect my camera to the computer on which I have installed first. So I'm capture using WinDV on an old computer program, save the files on a hardrive Ext., then hang that up with the first computer. (I know, a hassle).

Should expect significant differences between image editing which has been imported, as opposed to captured directly, first?

In the change/interpret film it is a drop down option if necessary.

  • Video files come from DVD and are 40-60 minutes long - capture vs import?

OK - Sorry for all the questions

As I mentioned in a previous question - I'm editing College football highlights for a particular player.  I'm trying to complete DVD set (40-60 minutes long each) that I already converted/stored as mp4 on an external hard drive.  There are about 27 of these video games, and I only need 5 to 10 times of each file.  (I've been a user of iMovie for about 3 years and just bought first Elements 9 yesterday - in the hope of a few extra features).

I imported a file (full game), dragged to the timeline, published on the games I want to use, and then delete the rest of the play of the timeline sequence.

    -BTW - I'm a Mac user.

Is is possible to capture only parts/clips I want directly from my DVD player?  In the menu 'get media' - he said you can get media from your PC dvd player.  I tried to do this with a single dvd (a selected VOB file and one from the DVD when it came on the screen) - but the program locked up.  Maybe just not a feature available on the Mac version?

I'm trying to be able to have these individual clips / games - possibly to the Organizer - so I can tag with keywords (sacks, tackles, forced fumbles, etc.) and then organize/sort them in my project.

I hope this is making sense - Thank you once again for all your help!

    Kim

One thing that one must be aware, it's that no matter how you edit images on your PRE timeline never touch the original clip. Instead of the project record essentially records the actions to be applied to the element when you share the project.

You can create individual clips, edit on the timeline of PRE and leaves from there to your format to archive favorite (for standard DVD use computer > AVI). You have to set the start and the end of the space bar to work at the beach you want as a separate sequence, share it ('Action WorkAreaBar' verification only), reset the following Beach WAB, share the (WorkAreaBar "share" only) etc...

    See you soon,.

  • Date of the LR3 Capture to import in the filename argument

I always used to import pictures into folders by year. Then the name of the file was built as "capture date - original file number - text custom". For LR3 is has already been noticed the capture date could not be incorporated into the name of the file from LR3 took the date of import instead. It must have changed to LR3.2 but in my opinion, it does not.

Does anyone know how to integrate the date of capture in the name of the file to be imported... preferably "YYYYMMDD".

  • Question about importing video footage in Premiere Pro

I'm new to Premiere Pro and have a question about it. I need to move all my videos on my new computer (Windows) from my old computer (iMac running iMovie). Where should I store my images so I can access inside Premiere Pro? I just need to store everything on a hard drive, and then create inside Premiere Pro projects when I need to import images in, or should I create a 'library' to store all my movies in? Setup bridge would be another beneficial way to view my videos (I use Lightroom for my photo library)? I'm just trying to discern the way I need to store and organize everything in order to get started with Premiere Pro. Thank you!

Premiere Pro has no capability of database for the media in general, only in a specific project. 'Import' is not like in Lightroom, it does in PrPro is tell her where to look for the media while working on this specific project.

So... you need create your materials on a particular disc, presented in a way that you can find them in a folder structure you design.

A typical use of PrPro spreads parts on several disks. OS/programs on the system drive, a disk each cache PrPro & cache of database files; preview files; and project files. Media probably on another drive and exports on a final drive.

Access the disk cache & cache database files, preview files and project files are the two ways of reading & writing, in addition to being constant. Multimedia files are used unalterable and exports only Scripture, their connections can be a little less robust.

  • Import Photos with Image Capture

Hi people, I do not know if I am posting this in the right forum. If this isn't the case, feel free to have moved him.

I did some research trying to help this user and also to learn.

Import all pictures (including photos from iTunes backup) iPhone to mac

I have a Mac and a PC but I use the PC for my main photo library. When I import pictures from my iPhone to the PC using the Import Wizard, Windows 10 maintains a cache to remember photos that have been previously imported so that they don't re - import. I can post the path to the cache but it is useless, the cache is a file system, called "PreviouslyAcquired.db".  If I remove photos from my PC which have been imported and you want then re - import, I have to reset this cache (delete) so that the photos to import again. Otherwise the photos already imported are ignored and only new ones appear on the Import Wizard.

The reason for this post is that I wonder if OS X (Photos or Image Capture) retains the same type of cache. I also wonder if this is the reason why the OP on the wire above cannot re - import the photos that have been restored from their old iPhone.

    So my questions are:

    (1) with OS X Image Capture, can a photo to reimport previously imported?

    (2) no OS X maintains a similar to Windows cache and if so where is it and how it is reset? I looked on my MBP 10.11.5 but nothing helped. It is obviously not the iPod Photo Cache - that one is associated with iTunes synchronizes only. I also started the Image Capture, but cannot see any parameter for this purpose.

    (3) I.C. will give me the opportunity to re - import if it imported the same before pictures? I could make an experience, but the bright minds here probably know the answers.

    Any info appreciated...

I have found no Apple documentation on it, but when I use the Image Capture to import from a camera or card in a folder in the Finder, I can import the same items over and over again. There is no control for imports carried out previously.

Only when I import using a photo app that maintenance photo library (Photos, iPhoto, Aperture) pictures will be checked for duplicates when importing.  But even with Photos, iPhoto, Aperture can I restore deleted photos by import since the device again, if I removed them from the library.

  • Help with settings in the capture of a 1968 for the Production of DVD movie

I have a problem with the Premier Pro and need help.

I'm on a date limit to change a feature film (01:27 long). It's a job home with, unfortunately, not a lot of knowledge on Premiere Pro. It must be sent in MPEG2-DVD (which I don't know how to do). My problem in the import of DV cassettes. I know how capture of the Sharp VL - AX1 I use to read the tapes. He appeared in Premiere Pro, etc.

My problem is with the settings. I set up the Premiere Pro with Standard DV NTSC 48 kHz, and then click capture. While the small screen on the Sharp VL - AX1 shows scenes with just a small black band (1/2 inch?) on the top and the bottom of the actual scene, the import/capture on the PC screen appears on a screen wide once he starts the capture and everything is elongated horizontally. I tried variations for the last month, but I'm stuck right here. The film was shot in 1968 and is wider; wide screen just not. When I try the implementation of big screen, the capture on the PC screen is just as broad if not broader.

The film has been digitized from the original 35mm copy by a professional company in Texas. I'm just trying to correct some color problems and send it to them for the production of DVD. They use Avid, so they cannot make the same color of correction, etc., work I want to do.

I would like to import from DV tapes in the best possible quality, tweak it a bit and then export it to a (probably mpeg2-DVD) format, which they can use to make the additional editing (DVD menus, etc.) for the production.

Here is a picture of what appears on the screen of the Sharp VL - AX1

    George

The telecine like a 4:3 letterbox wasdone: that's why you see black bars in the capture window. However, the transfer to the band (or perhaps the capture of original sequences by the transfer device) has reported that 16:9; First recognizes that flag, and that is why the video is stretched in the capture window. Since it's DV, it is not really important. Just capture it as - is and then right click on the AVI file captured, select Modify > interpret footage and all the pixels to Conform to D1/DV NTSC format (. 9091). He will perform the 4:3 images, and the aspect ratio is correct. There will be bars from mailbox to mailbox, but those who are already in the images. You can get rid of them, but you'd have to blow up the images and lose resolution, then I'd say just leave as is.

Once you have done so, just drop it into a sequence of NTSC DV (not widescreen) and change there. From there, you can export some way that you see fit. MPEG-2 DVD is fine as long as the other company is just doing the DVD authoring, but if they do no editing more far, you probably want to just export to tape to maintain the highest quality.

  • Importing RAW + JPEG photos files times

I put up my Nikon D5100 to shoot RAW + JPEG files when I take pictures. Photos is to import both, when I just want to import JPEG files. Can I separate the two formats and delete the RAW files in pictures? Also, how can I stop the RAW files to import in the first place?

If I search for RAW files in Photos, the program shows them, but when I choose 'Get Info' on them, they show that the JPEG. Really weird...

Yes you are right - this is exactly how it works - to use the RAW format as the original for editing then editing for a photo mode, click on use RAW original title in the menu image - these photos will have a RAW badge on them, others will have a JPEG badge on them--Photos that are found only in a format do not have a badge on them

And I suggest review you both RAW and JPEG shooting and shoot that you want - if you pull them both, and then import that you'll both in Photos - you can use Image capture and import from the camera on the disc and separate form BRUTE of the JPEG and import only the one you want - but even for me it is just logical to the format you want to shoot not the format you want

  • I have a 80 d but iPhoto, Lightroom 5 & Photoshop will not import RAW (CR2) files

I just bought n 80 d and was happy with the possibility of processing the RAW (CR2) files, but all my photo programs will not import the files, because they are not recognized. iPhoto, Photoshop and Lightroom 5.  I'm under Maverick on my Mac.  Strange thing however, Image Capture will import them. Any suggestions?

The 80 d is a bit too new.  It is normal that updates camera RAW trolling a few months.

I see that Adobe does support your camera if you upgrade to Lightroom CC.  See: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/03/camera-raw-9-5-now-available.html

As for Apple, you can see a big difference between updates of the Mavericks:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201071

vs updates for El Capitan (Mavericks is two complete versions behind):

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT205272

Even though Apple has not yet released the Digital Camera RAW for the 80 D update, I'm pretty confident that you will find that you have to upgrade to get to El Capitan.  BTW, OS updates are free from Apple.  Just launch your app 'App Store' and check the updates and you should see which indicates that an upgrade of the OS is available for you.  (Apple has stopped selling updates of the BONE several years ago.)

  • Recognition of Capture of Document Oracle server - how does it work?

    Dear Experts,

Our intention is to implement a barcode solution to replace the indexing of the ODC.

So, we have recognition server to do. So, I went through the Administrator's guide and set up a profile profile of Recognition server.

In the console of administration of the ODC, I created a Cabinet and a scanning profile...

I created a few TIFFs with code barcodes (code 39) and placed under the path where the scanner install profile.

But Recognition server not to treat those and just stay idle.

Then, I created a profile of index also Document capture and import an image to the profile of indexation.

Recognition server then checks in the batch record for a bar code that is not there.

So please explain to me how Recognition server works and how to create a free driver for this process. (indexing and principal - automatically)

    Thank you

    NIR

Certainly, you need to configure the import server that you give the location from where to choose files though e-mail where location shared etc.

After the server import import the files it will check if you have configured the recognition task, if yes then according to your profile for which you configured the recognition will be taken by recognition server.

In recognition server, we define actually create batch jobs, which determine the batches in the process and how to treat them.

Lots of recognition server contains all the settings to use when the batches are scanned, indexed, and committed. For example, batch processes determine how images are separated into documents how barcodes are read and assigned to index fields and if index values are assigned to an external database.

Batch processing can lead Recognition Server to search for tickets assigned to the Cabinet, scan of the first image of a Code 39 type barcode, read a value of eight characters bar code, assign the value to an invoice and drop the image in the given CAB file.

    Just for info,

It will be good to use ODC 11 g.

  • AE CC 2015.2 r3d files import does not (error: no file found at...)

    Hello!

Import R3D footage in after effects CC 2015.2 does not work. It does not work in Premiere Pro CC 2015.

Operating system is Yosemite (10.10.5). It also does not work when opening projects that were imported from r3d footage.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks in advance.

This bug is fixed in the update after effects CC 2015 (13.7.2): http://adobe.ly/1WaV0pP

This only bug fixes Update corrections occurred after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1) on Mac OS x files: RED (.r3d) can still be imported and are not reported as missing in existing projects.

This update is only for Mac OS X and is not available for Windows, because the bug with the RED files does not occur under Windows. The most recent update for After Effects on Windows is after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1).

  • Why I get an error message when you import directly XAVC images filmed on a Sony FS7?

I am importing XAVC footage of a Sony FS7, and when I import the file XDROOT, first gives me an error message 'Failure to import a file' saying only that "the importer reported a generic error." And yet, all the video & audio seem to actually come and play very well in the front. It seems strange and a little disconcerting, to get an error message that maybe I can just ignore.

If you do not import this file, you use the media browser to navigate to it and import from there.

  • Audio imported not PP chronology. MP4

I'm getting horrible I'll have enough of these problems with CC2015. Here is the problem today.

Audio does not matter in my calendar. I use two types of video clips... MP4 and .mxf. I used these clips of the YEARS without any problems.

    I'm on CC2015, all updates.

    Windows 7

    I7

    Quadro 4000

    24 GB ram

Here's what's happening. I import a clip in the project Panel. Then I drag him in the timeline and audio does not matter. I double click on the item in the project Panel and he plays WITH the audio in the source monitor.

The only way I can get the audio in the timeline panel is to take the clip in the project Panel and make its own sequence. Make my cut and then cut and past the clip in the main timeline. Can I get audio and video.

What the hell is happening? How can I work for years without this problem and suddenly is that the only way things work?

PS. If I drag the clip directly in the timeline of the hd on which it is recorded, audio imported. If I can remove the timeline and then try and drag it from the project don't sign... no audio plus.

I deleted all the Cache files of the media directly from the Solution Explorer and leave everything again in line. I rebooted a hundred times, I cleaned the cache directly from first, I imported the footage into new projects... but now, each project behaves in this way...

I'm tired of wasting DAYS trying to understand the problems with this software.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I can create a camtasia file to show what is happening.

Usually its all in the correction of the source.

  • Importer film HDV: blocking of the system after indexing done

    First CS6 running with updates.

Solid app, but the first time I came across it this year has generally been importing HDV footage. After the index of images and photo thumbnail of "media forward" changes in the image of the real images, the mouse pointer freezes. The keyboard is frozen. Can't even put up the Task Manager in Windows 7 64. HDV is supported even more? Maybe it is an invalid format? The file plays fine in VLC, so I don't think that it is corrupt. But modern, I've never seen a Windows 7 application before hanging!

I discovered what was the key to the crash: the Sony camera images are a Western Digital MyBook FireWire drive. The images of Canon are on an internal SATA drive. So to test a hunch, I copied the images on an internal SSD and it loaded in first. No crash. Apparently, some incompatibility with FW drives and first. Just make a note of this.
