They tried to communicate with me the day after my post, but I was not available - make us an appointment for today and she called earlier. We did about troubleshooting an hour and found out it was a police problem. I use a police utility that had some sort of conflict with my system fonts. Once it has been resolved, Dreamweaver is now very fast. My advice to anyone having this problem would be to stop all non-system fonts and see if that helps.   There seems to be several possible causes for this error. In my case it was a bit specific. I had a copy of stand alone on this same machine previously software Adobe Photoshop CS2 (only) that has been completely uninstalled before the installation of the CS6. There is a problem with Bridge CS6 being installed on a computer that has Bridge CS2 on it. I was not aware of the bridge being present with my copy of Photoshop CS2, but apparently there is at least some components of the Bridge CS2 left after uninstalling. The workaround solution that solved the problem for me has been the creation of an empty folder:

  C:\Users\[your username] \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS2
