Card cheap HDMI to m7640n?

I would like to connect my stock * m7640n to a 720 p 32 "screen that has both HDMI and VGA inputs with the best possible video quality.

I'm not a gamer and won't be watching DVDs on the PC.   This is mainly for watching videos online, as well as the General navigation of the sofa.    If anyone can point me to a set - top box that will do: browser, YouTube, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, Vimeo and Vodpod I'm all ears!

I would be better:

(A) install an HDMI card in the PC (and if so, recommendations for a cheap card that is known to work)?

B to obtain an external VGA-HDMI converter box?

(C) just stick with VGA to VGA-in output?

Any comments will be appreciated.

* the PC specifications:

-Athlon 64 X 2 @ 2.6 GHz

-XP Media Center Edition

-2 GB OF RAM

-Locations: PCI (1) and (1) PCI Express x 16

-audio outputs: 7.1 line level and SPDIF

Hello:

Why not upgrade to Windows 7?

If you get this video card, your PC will certainly run windows 7 even better that he would go to Vista.

Your PC comes stock with 2 GB of memory. Max going out with another 2 x 1 GB chips. They are pretty cheap.

Get two of them:

http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820148166

They will be downclock at the speed that your PC can run at, which is at 533 MHz. But you may as well buy the faster speed memory that you can get where you want to move them to another PC one day that can run at the speed of 800 MHz. I do not think that the PC2-4200 chips are either less expensive. They may even be more expensive.

You can watch on the NewEgg site if you want to check for Crucial memory in slower speed rating. But I bet I'm right.

Finally, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and turn all of your devices. This tool will scan your PC and report problems of compatibility with windows 7.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

According to specifications, your PC can run the 32-bit or 64-bit version of windows 7. I would not install 64-bit unless you max out the memory.  64-bit systems are in need of more memory to run than do the 32-bit systems. Not double, but more.

Shop around for the best price on a box that upgrade to windows 7. You can transfer it to another PC who is eligible for an upgrade.

You must do a custom (clean install) when you upgrade from XP to windows 7. This means that you must back up all your files and reinstall programs and files you want on the PC after installing windows 7.

    Hi Deb5212,

Food that I suggested above will replace the existing power supply. It has enough power to handle the NVIDIA 550TI if you wish to get a more powerful video card (but more expensive).

In general, I recommend the Corsair CX500 because she has enough power to handle most video cards except the very high-end. However, it is more expensive.

What type of video card should I buy that is compatible with the office and for the videos and presentations (no game)? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Cmann225, welcome to the forum.

Here is a video card that should work with your computer.  However, you should check ASUS website to find out what power supply unit (PSU) is necessary.  It indicates that 75W is required, but it is the power supplied by the PCI Express x 16 slot.  This means that there is no need an additional power connector.  The power supply of the computer is 300W.  Also, check to make sure that the card does not require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS with ASUS.

  • HP PAVILION P7-1155: p7-1155 graphics card with hdmi

I need to replace the graphics card for my machine to my hd tv hdmi output. I received a link to a forum that took me to newegg expert. There, I was overwhelmed for choice. I looked at a few of these, as well as comments. PNY cards seem to have a good rep, but I'm not sure. I want one that gives result excellent for my panasonic plasma and also has a conn vga for an old pc that I use occasionally, as well as a DVI to my primary monitor (ACER LED). I want also to capacity dual monitor.

I'm not in the game, but I want good graphics. Low power is necessary also for that area (P7-1155). I think that this box is 250 watts. I'm confused about the amount of memory it must have (1 g, 2 g). If I could get a couple of good choices for graphics cards, I'd be happy. Looking at all the choices gave me a headache. I am running windows 7 Home Edition.

Maybe there's an ideal choice among them all, but that is deceiving me. Anyone with a few entries on it even better every obvious choice or stupidity would be useful.  I'm going through my dvr then go out on television.

I don't want to make a mistake here, so I need expert advice. I would prefer a free fan, since many of the comments talk about fan noise. I like to keep the cost less than a hundred, but I don't want no exaggeration either.

    Help

I would like to deal with NCIX.ca because I'm here because of their return policy and the Canada.

Newegg here at the Canada gets things to the United States when it is not supplied to the Canada and it can take forever.

I also found that the NCIX is easier to deal with when returns _ Newegg is too automatic for my taste.

When it happens to a good card walked like this, 20 dollars or down doesn't bother me, but that's me.

I'd rather pay more and get the best service.

And this is an awesome card, I do a GT760 and pushing a frame interpolation program.

    http://www.dmitrirender.ru/

It was the limitation of the 760 at 80 degrees (metric) and using about 86% resources maps.

With the same program that GTX980 fans don't even come on, it works at 60 degrees and uses only 62% of the resource cards.

  • I have a HP Pavilion a6514f desktop PC. Can I run a PCI express 2.0 video card with HDMI.

I want to add a PCI Express to run HDMI.  My sheet says PCI express, but most sold video cards are PCI Express 2.0.  PCI express 2.0 compatible with my desktop computer?

    KansasArmyGuy, welcome to the forum.

    Thank you for your service!

Yes, PCI Express x 16 2.0 is backward compatible.  Therefore, it works perfectly.  The power supply unit (PSU) in the computer is 300W.  You need to make sure that the video card requires more power.  Most of the cards need at least more recent mid-level 400W to work properly.

    Hello

What is a SFF? Based on the following specifications, it shows no spare slot but it displays options for video cards.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/au/en/products/desktops/product-detail.html?OID=5232852#! tab = specifications

Because she had this option, a HDMI video card is the way to go. You can use the following supported list to check what card has HDMI:

    Graphics

    • Integrated Intel HD Graphics Basic, 2000, 2500 or 4000
    • AMD Radeon HD 6350 (512 MB)
    • AMD Radeon HD 7450 (1 GB)
    • NVIDIA NVS 300 (512 MB)
    • NVIDIA NVS 310 (512 MB)

(Integrated graphic card will depend on the processor )

Update: Unfortunaterly none of them has HDMI port so, try:

    http://www.eBay.com/BHP/HDMI-video-card

Note: Please ONLY buy card for SFF and not more than 23W.

    Kind regards.

  • HP PAVILION SLIMLINE S3370.UK: update ATI 2400HD to one with HDMI graphics card

Looking for some advice - I have this HP PAVILLION S3370 with this 2400HD ATI graphics card machine

The reason why I'm looking to upgrade the card is simply for HDMI support. I have bought converters and VGA splitters but had problems with resolutions where I'd get a display on a screen and a message put on the other, so I thought that I should just upgrade the card to one that has two vga and a HDMI output in this way I can project to the second screen and with a card with the sopport software update I should be able to adapt to the screen with scaling options - as I can on my other machine - and yet always use the computer screen when I want to sit at my desk.

The problem I have is the technical terms of the cards. I uderstand that due to having a HP Slimline I need a low profile & PCI Express x 16 card but newer cards make no mention of DDR2 SDRAM - and instead, I know GDDR3 - I'm asuming it is just the memory of the card use - type, but that would be coimpatable with the installation of my machine?

For example this map would be a suitable replacement? EVGA NVIDIA GT 610 Graphics Card - 1 GB If Yes can you contact why. If this is not suitable could make you alternative suggestions - thank you.

I apologize for the niavity of this issue - but it's been years since I have been embarrassed to have to upgrade graphics cards and I forgot the more I find myself with. I am based in the United Kingdom and the machine itself is running Windows 10 - the current graphics card manages the Sturmovik game Sim plane no problem and while I want to really just support HDMI for streaming movies I don't want to lose my support in game.

Thanks for reading and checking links - we appreciate it.

    Hello:

I think you should be able to squeak by with this card and derisory of your PC power supply 160W.

The AMD Radeon attracts a maximum of about 20 Watts and the GT610 around 29 Watts.  IMO, 9 Watts is not that big of a difference to blow your PC power.

I see that it comes with low profile brackets, so there is no problem with this arrangement, etc.

You're right about the memory.  That concern me too much back in the day, that the memory graphics specification did not spec PC's memory.  Graphics memory is independent of the PC's memory, and there is no conflict.

The only thing I don't know... but easy enough to fix.

The PC being produced in 2007 may have a BIOS that does not include how video cards with HDMI ports work regarding audio.

On these old PC several times when you install a video card with HDMI output, the PC think that not only you have installed a video card, but that you have also installed a sound card (because of the HD audio chip on the video card).

Thus, the BIOS only disables the video edge, it also disables the audio system too.

So, after installing the video card and drivers, if your integrated sound card is missing, restart the PC, go into the BIOS, look for the audio setting on Board (it cannot exist without first adding the video card, so there may be no use in looking for it now).  You can watch now of course, but do not be alarmed if it does not exist.

Audio setting will be set to auto or off.

Change the active setting. Save the setting here where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS.

After reboot and return to Windows, integrated audio system needs to be restored and the HDMI audio works if HDMI cable connection is detected.

Another reminder... before install you your new video card, make sure that you uninstall the current drivers.

To do this, go to Device Manager, click to expand the category of device display cards, do a right-click on the map of chart amd radeon HD 2400 that there are listed, select uninstall, select uninstall driver.

Do not restart the PC you are prompted.

Go to the menu programs in the Control Panel, then uninstall all current AMD Catalyst software.

Once this is done, stop, disconnect the PC and remove and replace the video card in your PC.

  • Is a graphics card HDMI always collecting audio

I know that the HDMI standard is supported by the audio signal (works very well on TV), but the built-in graphics card lacks an HDMI port.

If I install a model course HDMI gaphics card in the PCI-E x 16 slot, can I be sure that the audio signal will be passed via the HDMI cable to the speakers in the monitor?

If not, what other measures need to be taken?

    Fox6, welcome to the forum.

Your motherboard accepts a PCIe x 16 video card.

A problem is that food in your case is only 300 Watts and no 6 PCIE power connector pins for a video card. If you want a video card powerful, you will also need to upgrade your power supply.

There are video cards available that do not require the 6 - pin PCIE connector, but they are of Villa do not play cards.

Here are a few Newegg that would not require the power supply to upgrade your PC.

ASUS EAH5450 SILENT/DI/1GD3 (LP) Specifications ATI Radeon

GeForce GT 220 512 MB Specifications NVIDIA GeForce

Both cards have HDMI, D - Sub and DVI outputs and will be adapted to your PC.

  • graphics card for HP Compaq dc7800

I am looking to buy a graphics card for my HP Compaq dc7800 small form Factor PC, I would like to have cheap cards. What would you recommend.

    Hello:

You are rather limited with 240W power.

I would get an opportunity low profile ATI Radeon 2400 HD 256 MB PCIe card on eBay.

This Dell card I posted should work just fine.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Dell-ATI-Radeon-HD-2400PRO-320-5891-/280798788349?PT=PCC_Video_TV_Cards & Hash = item4160e97afd

If you want that a new map of low profile with HDMI, you can check the link below for the Radeon HD 6450. But make sure that the card you get comes with support for low profile and read the comments on some of these cards where they say the basket of pins VGA closing case.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/ProductList.aspx?submit=Ene & N = 100006662 & IsNodeId = 1 & Description = % 206450 HD & Bop = and & Order = Rating & PageSize = 20

If you get a card with HDMI output, it will disable your onboard video, then reboot the PC after loading the drivers for the card, go into the BIOS and in device configuration menu, change the integrated audio system setting from disabled to enabled. Save the setting here and even once, when you go out. Then get you your integrated audio system and have also audio HDMI if you need.
