Card Firewire compatible for HP Envy Phoenix 800st?

I need to install a 1394 (Firewire) card, so I can download movies from my Canon HDV camcorder, but I don't know which ones is compatible with my Widonws 8.1 64 bit OS.  I do know that my motherboard has a slot to accept a card.  Anyoen can help with this?

Thank you!

Phoenix desktop motherboard has two PCI Express x 1 slots and a miniPCIe location available for upgrades.

Choose froma multitude of 1394 cards which have the PCI Express x 1 slot interface and make sure that the card supports Windows 8.1.  Given that Windows 8 is so new, it's a little difficult to find compatible products.

I did a search on Google and found a few manufacturers that provide driver updates.

I think to buy a HP ENVY Phoenix 860-078na and I was wondering if it is able to take a second graphics card and can accommodate a Corsair H60 liquid CPU Cooler. Thank you

    Felix, welcome to the forum.

There is only one PCI Express x 16 (Genesis 3) slot for a video card.  With respect to liquid cooling, medium size case do not have a lot of space.  I have a Phoenix 860-170VR with an R9-390 X video card and it is extremely tight.  However, having said that, I think you wouldl be pleasantly surprised by the way the computer will be with existing components.  I can play COD series on the best settings.

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver update for HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop computer, during a performance of the construction in the auditor of updates to HP program that it is announcing the following update available for my machine and I was wondering if there were more details about what he actually did and/or updates/patches?

    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

    Description
This package provides the driver for Intel Chipset SATA RAID solutions and SATA AHCI Controller in models supported that are running a supported operating system.

    Communicate details
    Exit the: 2014-01-23

    A Version12.8.2.1000 Rev.
    Compatibility:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Fix/development
    -Provides original drivers

As you can see the description of correction and improvement really provided no details as to what is fixed or improved.

If I need to apply this patch, it would be nice to understand a little better what to expect and what is fixed and/or improvements.  You have to forgive me because I'm old school and I usually generally follow the routine "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  I'll do what it takes well so I have a better understanding of what is going to happen in the case where updating mess something inadvertently.

    Thank you

    Hello:

What is the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology software.

    http://www.Intel.com/support/chipsets/IMSM/sb/CS-020784.htm

It is not necessary to install the update if you do not want.

I doubt you will notice a difference in performance if you have it installed.

It is unlikely that all the problems would result in the update (however could apply Murphy's law), but like you said... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

  • How to add hard drive for HP Envy Phoenix 810-135qe CTO.

My previous Pavalion motherboard failed and I ordered the current desktop.  I have the hard drive of the defective system.  He had the same operating system, windows 7, 64 bit, like this again.  I know some information about adding HDD to envy again.  No info on the motherboard or connections.  P5 and P6 power connectors are avilable for additional hard disks.  I see there are some open sata connectors on the motherboard, but need more info and direction on which one to use, or if things do, etc..  before I add the hard drive.

Use any header open SATA on the motherboard that you want to use. As long as you don't make changes to the current boot order in the BIOS and save the changes, it will not count.

  • HP ENVY PHOENIX CTO 810-135QE - 600 watts power supply Question

In the near future, I would like to upgrade the video card in my desktop HP ENVY PHOENIX CTO 135QE-810 GT 640 default to something a little more powerful and I was wondering if there is any details about the default 600 watts power that will help me in my decision to the next video card.

I know that some video cards require a number of amps on the 12 volt rail and all the information that I have found previously on the power of 600 watts power supply in the computer is not in that kind of detail.

What I read, the power is a Petrus 600W e-star 5.0 Bronze, HP Part number 633186-002.

Any additional details and details on this power to help me determine the next video card would be useful.

On a side note the video card, I'm currently doing is one of the next Nvidia GTX 750 TI models, thoughts and recommendations on this specific map?

    Thank you

    JCOOPER2

    Hello

Your PC has UEFI bios, so most video cards should work.  Some video cards will work in UEFI mode and others in legacy mode, that your PC is able to run.

When the manufacturer of the video card and/or AMD or NVIDIA specify a minimum power supply size then it is best to stick to this recommendation.  Not all power supplies are built to the same standards of quality.  In addition the internal components, temperature, charges unknown and time that the PC will be placed under the maximum load are taken into account at the recommendation of minimum power supply is indicated.

I have not seen a power of 500 watts with 12v rating of 18A, but this does not mean that there is not. And if that's the case, then the total power rating is suspect. A video card that requires an external auxiliary power connector will also draw power from the PCI-E slot.

Are there cases where the minimum size of the power supply is insufficient? Yes, those who might be extreme but someone can have connected to power different connectors either to avoid buying a new power supply or maybe around just the food manufacturer minimum power rating. Some may do it thinking 'I'm going on fox the Fox ". It can work, but maybe the questions later start occurred.  I prefer to get the job done right the first time. You don't need a power supply to perhaps of overload and short circuit then internally causing spikes to the components in the PC.

  • HP ENVY 137C 750: GTX 1070 for HP ENVY 750-137C graphics card upgrade

I picked up a refurbished HP ENVY 750-137c and am currently looking to improve the graphics. I don't want to break the Bank, but I don't want it to last me a while, I'm looking at the Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1070.

Apart from the evolution of the needs of power, does anyone know if this card is compatible, and if there are problems with this upgrade? In addition, Nvidia recommends a diet of 500W for this card. Would be - it sufficient, or is - this genrous number? In addition, if someone has a product of power supply they would recommend for this theoretical combination, I'd greatly appreciate advice.

    Thank you!

    @Drifterx311, welcome to the forum.

Here are the full specifications of the card on the nVidia website.  The card is double slot and 10.5 "long.  I suggest measurement of the back plate of e/s to the front of the box to see how much space is available.  I think it fits, but it will be tight.

As you said, the specs recommend a PSU 500W (PSU).  Personally, I'd buy one at least 600 w.  This will give you extra power for peak needs.  I love Corsair products.  Here are a few PSU for you to review Newegg.  If you choose a modular power supply it will allow you to install only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  This allows for better air circulation.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about them.  A good diet will make your system run much better.

  • Want to 810qe of Phoenix: upgrade graphics card on desktop HP Envy Phoenix 810qe

If earlier I wanted a new Phoenix 810qe Desktop (windows version 8) with the following customizations: 4th gen Intel i7 - 4790 k @4.0 Ghz, 16 GB DDR3 - 1600 Mhz (2 DIMM), 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive, cache SSD 16 GB mSATA, HP WLAN 802.11 DB 2 x MCard BT WIDI 2 ac, 15 in 1 Multi Media Card Reader slot , 6 USB ports (front/back), Audio [before 4USB2.0, 2USB3.0 top of the page], 4 GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 745. I want to know if I could put in an Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 instead of the 745 GTX graphics card. Reading this post on the forum (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Upgrade-My-HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810qe-Desktop/td-p/4679014) I know that the computer has a power of 500w. But in the post, that it seemed that the person asking the question just had basic computer and had not adapted it, and I still have to wonder if the customization that I did for my computer took more watts of the PSU.  Now that I know that the GTX 980 would need 500 all the watts that my computer can offer that I want to know if my computer is perhaps still able to run this beast of a GPU. Anyone have any ideas? If this isn't the case, I think I can just settle for a Geforce GTX 960 because who needs to 400 w of total power of the system. But I'm not even sure that would work on my current computer either. Any help?

    Hello

HP Partsurfer has the NVIDIA GTX 980 in stock.
