CATALOG RMAN WITH DIFFERENT PLATFORM

Respected by all,
my linux platform database and can create rman catalog in the windows platform?

Thank you all for the reply.

This is the same mechanism of functioning of the LINK DB in heterogeneous platforms like Oracle to SQL server, and vice versa.

When you be able to update the database of different platforms, why not possible when the operating system is different.
It will keep the repository with ORACLE, nothing to do with the OS.

  • RMAN catalog 11 GR 2 Update Catalog RMAN-06429

    Hi all

    I have databases oracle 11 GR 1 material and GR 11, 2 in use.
    Last time I would upgrade the catalog with 'Upgrade catalog' database to backup databases the new 11 GR 2.

    The upgrade looks good, but after this task, I have 21 invalid objects in the RMAN catalog and it was not possible to compile without error. And all the other which backups using the catalog fails the RMAN-06429.
    -> Package PL/SQL BAKRMAN. DBMS_RCVCAT Version 11.02.00.02 in the RCVCAT too recent database.
    I therefore return to the action.

    What is the right way to use the catalog rman with levels of different database?
    How can I use the catalog also for 11 GR 2 databases without any side effect on my other 11 GR 1 material databases?
    The rman catalog reside on a 11.1.0.7.0 database.

    Hello

    So, how I understand, I should send the command "upgrade catalog" new 11 GR 2 database server.

    Yes, the process of looking at this.

    Opening of session of rman 11 GR 2 binary upgrade CLI:

    $ rman catalog bakrman /@.

    connected to the recovery catalog database
    RMAN PL/SQL package. Version X.X.X.X in database RCVCAT DBMS_RCVCAT is too old

    RMAN > upgrade catalog;

    recovery catalog owner is BAKRMAN
    Enter the command of CATALOG to UPGRADE again to confirm the upgrade of the catalogue

    RMAN > upgrade catalog;

    Upgraded to version X.X.X.X recovery catalog
    DBMS_RCVMAN package updated to version X.X.X.X
    DBMS_RCVCAT package updated to version X.X.X.X

    After that this upgrade, only objects of schema in the recovery catalog database should be improved, right?

    Fix.

    (1) why rman retains much difference to SNA in the same backup?  (please see light - blue color)

    a single file have 60292123

    Another has 37958094

    A senior CPN is the last CNS or most recent SCN of the data file. When you checked using 'backup validate database', he was 60292123 for the data file 1 and 37958094 for the 7 data file. If you check the same today, it would be different. If there is no activity or transactions (I mean not transaction YVERT here) performed on the respective data files, there was no change in the high SNA. As the dirty blocks are written to the file, the high RCS of the dataifle also continues to change.

    In your case, datafile 7 is not used much more when compared with datafile 1 or 2. Just to let you know, the high RCS of any data file is still below the number of change of control point. In the event of a checkpoint, all dirty blocks are written to disk and allocate a checkpoint change number. This change number of control point for all data files remain the same and are updated in the headers of all the data files. A change of checkpoint # is different from that of the CNS high in the data file.

    Just to help you understand, here is an excerpt:

    The MOS research I can find a fix (Note: 741913.1) to be applied during the upgrade of the catalog database. I don't see how I can apply a 11.1.0.6 database.

    So that means that I can't back up a 11.1.0.7.x database by using the 11.1.0.7 customer, unless the catalogue is also 11.1.0.7.x? I can't find any documentation to say that this is the case.

    Someone else stumbles?

    You can run a newer version of the catalogue in a lower version of the RDBMS (limits).

  • Disaster recovery with different ASM starts

    Hi@all,

    in fact, I'm testing a scenario of recovery after a disaster. To an Oracle Linux 6 Server with installed grid below 12 c and Ora Database 11.2.0.4 (there is also a 12.1.0.2 instance of database) I'm doing a recovery after a disaster. But I'm unleashed by the restoration and recovery of the database. The problem here is that ASM diskgroup name has changed. As you read I also changed the physical server, but I think that should not be a problem.

    To the old server, I have two ASM starts '+ DATA' and '+ FRA_1', to the new, they are called '+ DATA_SRVNAME' and '+ FRA_SRVNAME '. I already changed the startup in spfile parameter, but now after restoring the controlfile RMAN has directions to the old diksgroup:

    RMAN> report schema;

    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    RMAN-06139: WARNING: control file is not current for REPORT SCHEMA
    Report of database schema for database with db_unique_name SID

    List of Permanent Datafiles
    ===========================
    File Size(MB) Tablespace           RB segs Datafile Name
    ---- -------- -------------------- ------- ------------------------
    1    0        SYSTEM               ***     +DATA/SID/datafile/system.438.816606399

    So I tried three ways. First was rename data file name:

    ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '+DATA/SID/datafile/system.438.816606399' TO '+DATA_SRVNAME/SID/datafile/system.438.816606399';

    Then had to set the newname in RMAN:

    set newname for datafile 16 to '+DATA_SRVNAME/SID/datafile/mms_basic_tab.455.816617697/';

    And the second was to recreate the controlfile with

    CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "SID" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
        MAXLOGFILES 16
        MAXLOGMEMBERS 3
        MAXDATAFILES 254
        MAXINSTANCES 1
        MAXLOGHISTORY 1815
    LOGFILE
      GROUP 1 ('+DATA__SRVNAME', '+FRA_SRVNAME')  SIZE 1024M,
    DATAFILE
      '+DATASRVNAME/SID/datafile/system.438.816606399',
    CHARACTER SET AL32UTF8;

    But the three methods gave me the error that the file data to the new location is not available (for example):

    ORA-15012: ASM file '+DATA_QUM169/cogn11/datafile/system.438.816606399' does not exist

    So now my question: how am I able to say the controlfile or the database to use the another diskgroup in ASM?

    I know, the simplest way would be to create a diskgroup + DATA and do the restore / recovery, but on the new server, I have no more storage to assign to a new diskgroup, and because there are running other forums I would'nt change ASM starts.

    Do you have anny solution?

    A big thank you and best regards,

    Dave

    Please try this

    RMAN > run

    {

    the value of newname for datafile 1 to "+ DATA_SRVNAME";

    restore data file 1;

    switch datafile 1;

    recover datafile 1;

    }

    Did you create + diskgroup DATA_SRVNAME?

    and

  • Catalog RMAN 11g XE

    First of all, personally, I'm a novice of the oracle, more than one linux administrator myself.  But I support troubleshooting of errors with backups RMAN of a database.

    We are connecting to Enterprise Edition of Oracle (11.2.0.4.0) to back up the database.  Our catalog of recovery is the use of Oracle 11 g Express edition (I think that the version number is specifically 11.2.0.2.0)

    The backup sends a pretty normal RMAN backup script.  We get the result of our newspapers:

    Complete recovery manager.

    (Note: the renowned CATALOG database and target recovery catalog name renamed to LIVEDB to keep things generic)

    I'm assuming that the issue is ORACLE XE has an outdated version of the recovery catalog from the RMAN on the target database (11.2.0.4.0 vs 11.2.0.2).

    So, two questions:

    (1) does a version problem as I guess, or is there something else?

    (2) at - it something we can do using the software oracle XE as the recovery catalog?

    I have the RMAN script, if I need to publish.

    So we have successfully our catalog updated 11.2.0.4 and made a backup.

    The solution, which may have been easier than easy, had to use RMAN (11.2.0.4) client to connect to our catalogue (11.2.0.2).  Then, run the upgrade catalog command.

    Simple.

    Basically

    RMAN > connect username/password@CATALOG

    RMAN > upgrade catalog

    Obviously, CATALOG is the name of your catalog of recovery and probably should have a tnsnames.ora entry and others.

    We got it to work.

    clcarter, thanks for the bread crumbs - I never thought to use the updated backend catalog rman client.

  • Find photos with different file names?

    Somehow, I have photos with different names. Example: 2015-04-08 13.28.25.jpg and IMG_1668.JPG.

    And my DuplicateFinder are not nameless a base file name.

    Lightroom doesn't have a function automated for something like that, but there are third-party plug-ins. See, for example, here: Finding of pictures duplicate in Lightroom

  • How is it difficult to update a Web site with mobile platforms, but also office?

    I just updated my CC from Adobe for photographers to the full version of CC for most to get Muse. I thought it was completely adaptable to mobile devices. Now I find that that is not necessarily true. It is true that I have to run three different platforms for mobile comparability? If this is true can I update all three, each time I change or add to my Web site? How is it hard to do this?

    Also, I read somewhere that if it is not hosted at Adobe, some of the Add-ons like forms and articles may not work. Is this correct?

    Thanks for any help,

    Linda

    Cross-platform support depends on what models / themes you use and their associated CSS and widgets. Not everything works everywhere and it is something you have to live with, has been for example support for JavaScript on mobile devices is usually a pain in the rear. Otherwise you get what you pay for - if you need more forms or other items, you will need to spend your limited options included in MU and look around. But I really don't see the issue. You can have anything from blogs to forums for free these days, you might just live with the fact that then you would not at all use Muse to manage and add content.

  • Yet to try to solve the problems with incorrectly platforms AUTODÉCOUVERTS

    Hello

    I have several platforms of AUTODECOUVERTS who are orphaned because I changed the IP address of the platform and the HQ 3.2.5 autodiscovery process that screwed up. I just upgraded to 3.2.6, which should prevent this problem in the future, but what I do now with five platforms that are sitting in my portlet "automatic detection" and won't go away?

    This prevents me to collect statistics on these platforms, because if I start an agent on one of these platforms, and then I try to import it, I get the error (in 3.2.6) below:

    Impossible to import the platform: java.rmi.ServerException: RuntimeException. nested exception is: org.hyperic.hq.common.SystemException: javax.ejb.TransactionRolledbackLocalException: a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session: [double found platform name: oms09 #10074]; CausedByException is: a different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session: [double found platform name: oms09 #10074]

    How to remove these incorrect AUTODECOUVERTS platforms? They exist in a table somewhere that I can go in and just delete the right line?

    Thank you
    Brian

    These statements should fix you up:

    DELETE FROM EAM_AIQ_IP;
    DELETE FROM EAM_AIQ_SERVICE;
    DELETE FROM EAM_AIQ_SERVER;
    DELETE FROM EAM_AIQ_PLATFORM;

    (capitalization of the tables will depend on your database)

    These statements will erase all currently visible in the Portlet for Autodiscover.

    I hope this helps.

    Yes.

    Is it easy to compile once and run on a different platform?

    It has already been done.

    All you need to do to run your program on another PC installs a runtime environment Jva for the target PC architecture and operating system. (Most likely it is already there).

    There is only a single pitfall: the JRE on the target system must have the same or higher major version (for example: 1.7) as the JDK, you compiled with.

    I would like to create a registration page for my Muse site with different subscription choices, but I don't know if it's possible or, if this is how I build. Any ideas?

    Hello

    This is possible since the end of the hosting platform. If you are using Business Catalyst to host your website, you can use events, campaign of subscriptions module, attach the subscriptions etc. of the area.

    You can create events/announcements on end of BC and then add the module in the Muse page which on post will show the modules on the page.

    1-all the databases that are configured to use the catalog (this does not mean that they will use the catalog) are visible by using the rc_database view in the catalog. If a database is not configured in the catalog of the db uses the control file.

    2 - A query, you can use: see http://lianggang.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/create-your-own-reports-on-oem-grid-control-part-1/
    You may need to change a little bit, but it's a start.

    Thank you.

    If you buy the perpeptual license it would be specific OS, in this case, you would have to buy 2 separate license however if you go for the creative cloud then in this case it would be OS independent, you can install with cloud 2 or creative on 2 Windows Mac or windows 1 and 1 Mac.

    In addition, with each license, you get 2 activation so 2 can use the software on machine 2, but not at the same time.
