CentOS 5.5 - issue version of operating system boot invited switched to 'Other Linux'

I have a CentOS 5.5 VM on ESXi U1 (fully patched) that when powered down is configured as an operating system version 'Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (32-bit)', but after the start (and the VM tools loaded) reports "Other Linux (32-bit)" in the vSphere client.  No idea why this would happen?  This particular virtual machine had been converted from Server 2.x and the virtual update using the vsphere console machine tools and then reconfigured (running tool vmware - config.pl).  Is - this some bad interaction between ESXi and tools?

No, it's not a problem.

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

According to this support page your Treo 680 has already PalmOS 5.4.9.

You look at the version of the Applications, not the version of the OS application.

  • I have an old MacBook that is stocked with 9.6 OS I want to make a server.  Can I still get a copy of the old version of operating system server for this old MacBook?

I want to create a network server home on my old MacBook (it can work only 9.6).  Anyone know if I can get an older version of server to work on this MB and which version would work?

There are a few things wrong with the info you gave...

He was never an OS 9.6. The latest version of OS 9 ever released was OS 9.2.2.

No MacBook cannot use any version of OS 9 for any purpose. Even the first MacBook uses a processor Intel and OS 9 (any version) can not run on a platform of Imtel, as a BONE or as classic.

The machine is perhaps a model of PowerBook? If so, it might be runing a version of OS 9.

Please specify the machine model and the version of the OS.

  • Are there versions of operating system specially built for businesses

I know that RIM makes different OS versions for the different mobile operators. But is there such thing as versions of OS specifically for Blackberry devices businesses?

For example, a company not on AT & T device can be upgraded to supported versions that never AT & t. but if a unit is a unit of the company and the AT & T network, is there a list of the OS versions that this unit can be upgraded to which is totally different from what is available from AT & T? Or that the list is a subset of what is available at AT & T

  • HP 15-g020dx: I got an error message "operating system Boot Mode changed."

I had got an error message on the boot image and I came here, telling me to change the startup parameters to the legacy that I did, but I might be able to register the change because he could do nothing except "esc", which had to cancel the change type. What should I do?

    Hello

When you change the boot mode and are then invited to enter a 4-digit PIN, there will be no display of the numbers that you type for security reasons - just type in the numbers and press ENTER.

  • Operating system drive invited current host sas band

    Hello!

I plan on ESXi backup solution and you want to use the tape drive internal sas on the host to the guest PC (windows 2008). Is this possible?

    Kind regards

    A.

vmdirectpath maybe able to help you here, but is there a particular reason?

Normally, if you want to maintain the rear band that you could install an agent for the VM backup and the backup on the backup server with the installed tape drive.

Except that VCB, ghetto VCB, VDR, vRanger connection etc. are all cool options.

I suggest to run the diagnostic tool memory WINRE mode and check if the memory (RAM) installed on the computer works fine.

Follow the steps below to start the computer using the WINRE and run the memory diagnostic tool.

    a. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc.
    b. restart your computer.
    c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

If you have several sticks of RAM installed on the computer, you can try to remove one of the RAM stick and check if it works very well. Also, you try to exchange the RAM sticks and check if one of the RAM is originally this issue and if it needs to be replaced.

Note: If you are not aware of the evolution and swaping the stick of RAM on the computer, it is best to contact the computer manufacturer for help on this and you can do it at your own risk.

You can also contact Dell support and check if you need to replace any hardware.

  • Install Windows XP on a Windows 7 operating system?

One of my friends has installed windows 7 on my computer recently, but now my computer is telling me it is not authentic and that I might be a victim of software counterfeiting. To resolve this problem, I am trying to install windows xp on my computer instead because I can't afford to buy windows 7 and I already had a copy unused windows xp installation. So, I put the installation disc in and install it in a hurry, but he told me that there are compatibility issues because my operating system is newer than the one I am trying to install. I thought I could delete just somehow the windows operating system 7 and then install the xp system. But I can't find all the information on how to do this or if this is even possible. Is could someone please tell me how I can get this to work so that I no longer have the version infringed on my computer? Thanks for the help! :)

  • My iPad has been verification of operating system update for more than 3 hours.  Not able to do anything. Cannot cancel or turn off the power. Help please.

MY iPad has been verification of update of the new version of operating system for 3 hours.  Unable on camel back or cut off the power supply.  What should I do? o

Try a forced reboot. Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Then go to settings > general > storage & use iCloud > manage storage (the first) > and if there is an update, delete. Then go to settings > general > Software Update and try again.

If that doesn't work, try updating through iTunes on your computer.

  • How can I reinstall the operating system with the recurring kernel panics?

    MacBook 1.1, white, plastic, 2.0/2x1GB/80GB/SD/USB.

It used a lot, but want to keep going for special purposes.  Get kernel panic/black screen when I try to reinstall the operating system on a blank disc;  deleted before trying to reinstall Lion 10.7.3.  Tried other earlier versions of operating system.  Reinstall the memory chips and ordered new ones as a bet.  Made a "Lion" partition the Middle clone backup FW for my MacBook Pro, but there now El Capitan; window said I have bad installer in MB Pro; Cannot install on this new FW partition, but I don't know if this will help anyway.  Must be HW problem; nothing on the MacBook drive.   Diagnosis I could not complete either.  Impossible to wipe FW with the MB Pro, Lion and other stuff loading to attack the problem of HW?   Don't know how to do in this regard.  A new Disk Warrior 5 and old Tech Tool Pro.  Apple HW Test on the original disc from MacBook will not appear either?   Difficult OB!    Challenge yourself, please!   New mem circuits can do. ??

So I'll try to attack it from the external hard drive, of course, I have to.   But how to find and eliminate the block HW?   Finally, go ask Apple support.

It doesn't let me finish any operation!

According to Mactracker, a Macbook 1.1 is limited to Snow Leopard 10.6, as the new OSX compatible.  Do you mean you had lion (10.7) installed?

    Ciao.
