  Hi all, in an attempt to speed up a slow query, I applied the analytical function to it. I can save the query in the generator without any problem, however, I can't create data between this request and other links. After I have comment on the analytical function, data bindings can be made. My colleague says Report Builder 6i is too old so he can recognize only the ANSI SQL syntax. Since our server DB uses Oracle 10 g 2, is there a way for the generator of reports to identify and compile syntax of Oracle 10 g?

  Your colleague is right. Even if the SQL query is executed by the DB server, reports must analyze the SQL query.

  I use an interactive report of the APEX and I need to filter a column of values a couple.  I use the IN operator column.  However, one of the channels I'm looking for has a comma in it.  The IR treats this as a delimiter and does not find the value. For example, I want to filter the values:

  Oracle Canada ULC

  Oracle America, Inc..

  The operational unit IN in the IR is equal to 'Oracle Canada ULC, Oracle America, Inc...  He finds only the lines with 'Oracle Canada ULC'.  He seems to think that "Oracle America" is the second value in research and "Inc." is the third and can't find anything for them.

  Is there a way to escape the comma in "Oracle America, Inc." so he treats the entire string as a value to search for?

  To in front-end (user) has chosen Actions-> filter-> filter-> line Type

  • In the columns , choose your column (operational unit)
  • Functions/operators choose IN
  • In Filter Expression, type your expression ("Oracle Canada ULC", "Oracle America, Inc.")

• ColdFusion Report Builder functions displaying not good performance

  I have difficulties to report functions work. Looking at the documentation, I followed the steps to the creation of a function (that seems to be a feature of ColdFusion) and inserted in the report. The purpose of the function is to display an address from the address fields in a database table. Some records may only need 2 lines of addresses to display other 3 or 4 depending on the address. I thought that the function would determine whom is line 2 or 3 was not null/empty, display it. If it's empty/null, do not display their as well as address 1 and 4 line. Even if I get no error when the report is displayed, the function doesn't seem to evaluate it... just displays a cryptic "placeholder" where the output of the function is supposed to be consisting of a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols (e.g., cffReportName@1233443554455$funcREPORTNAME@hghkl455). I tried to create another simple function right off a static variable as a test, but it does the same thing. Any ideas?
  

  Yes! I finally thought to it and that's a no-no on my part... When insertion of the function in the report you have to name it as follows:

  Report.FunctionName)

  I tried to do it like this:

  Report.FunctionName

  Becaue I left it turned off the bracket would not evaluate the function. Thanks anyway!

  I want to access the database of MS SQL server oracle database using hsodbc connection under linux.
  
  I followed following steps to reach higher.
  
  1. sql server installed easysoft odbc driver
  2 configured odbc.ini with information on sql server.
  3. create initSQLSERVER.ora and placed under < host ora >/hs/admin
  4 created earpiece and tns name
  5 created db link
  
  I am able to query MS SQl, oracle, but any column defined as nvarchar or ntext server tables are not displayed.
  
  Everyone has this problem and have the solution?
  
  Note: I did the same configuration in windows, but works well.

  I think you have misunderstood my last update.
  Patch 5965763 is not a patch to install DG4ODBC in the RDBMS 10.2. It's only a patch that allows to 10.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4 (including 5965763) or + 5965763 to use the gateways of 11 g that are installed in separate directories of ORACLE_HOME.
  You can not just change the program in a listener of 10,2-dg4odbc.
  Have you installed the software DG4ODBC in another new ORACLE_HOME of the 10.2 install?
  If so, you should start the listener of this ORACLE_HOME and not the ORACLE_HOME 10.2 DG4ODBC.

• Reduced to adjust text - ColdFusion Report Builder

  In ColdFusion Report Builder, is there a way to reduce the text to fit a particular sector? (as opposed to the stretch with overflow)

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  I found another solution that works relatively well.  I have added several fields to a field on the report with each of these areas on the report by using a different font size.  For each of these areas, I applied printing conditions to evaluate the text as an image width (in pixels).  Based on the width of the image, the correct field with the font size is used, and all the text is in a specific area.  The result is the desired effect.

  For example, if the width of the text as an image is 383,73 pixels, the printing condition where the font size is 26 is used.

  Try from Report Builder using the rwbuilder.bat in the directory % ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\.

  If you still have questions to
  (a) save the file rwbuilder.bat to %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\
  (b) now change file rwbuilder.bat the file % ORACLE_HOME%\bin\rwbuilder.bat, by manually hard code the correct paths for:

  $$Instance.directory$$\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
  $$Instance.oracle_home$$\bin\rwbuilder.exe

  In other words, if your instance is C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1, then change the rwbuilder.bat to take into account:
  C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
  C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\bin\rwbuilder.exe

  (c) and then re-run the file updated the rwbuilder.bat to the % ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\.

  If it still does not work...

• Adding picture to excel is not saved with the report

  I'm trying to compile a report in excel using Labview, in which I have to insert an image of a certain size in a certain range of cells. Everything is good and correct picture adding to Excel in my development computer and fix to save the report. When I did an executable Labview working with Excel 2007, I noticed the picture is added to the model then I save report and close. When I open the generated report photo cells were empty and a reference to the image is instead.

  It seems to me that the report could not save the inserted picture.

  I would like to mention that the image is added to an excel template that is not any control of image, but is added using the box in excel tools.

  Is a way to set a property in excel 2007 to save the image with the report that I do not know?

• Report Builder 1.0 will not connect to the data source for Reporting SERVICES

  We have a few users who are unable to connect to SSRS on SQL Server 2008 using the Report Builder version 1.0

  (We will be updating soon, but it's a slow process, and now users have questions)

  Instead of disputed for their IDs, they are requested to select a data source.  This information is supposed to be filled automatically when the user starts the Reporting SERVICES report designer.

  Does anyone know where/how SSRS communicates information to start the application with one click Report Builder, and where, if anywhere, it stores?

• Problem with Simple Contact form fields do not come into the home.

  The form of a Simple Contact on our site is not letting users enter their names and e-mail addresses.  The other fields for cell phone and Message are working well.

  I though this might be a problem with the hosting, but the site is hosted on Business Catalyst (badfishy.businesscatalyst.com).

  I created other test sites and insert the Simple Contact form which worked perfectly, so I'm not sure what I did to the main site to cause this problem.

  I checked the site and it seems that the frame of the accordion is extended to the covering page so 2 fields in form because of which fields are not active because they are behind the plot of the accordion.

  Please reduce the accordion framework such as the fields of the form are not behind the frame and then it should work.

  I noticed that the text of an element field browse file does not appear with Google Chrome (version 12.0.7). Only the 'Choose file' button.

  It is the presentation expected file browser controls in Webkit as Safari and Chrome browsers.

  The name of the selected file appears verbatim when selected.

• CF8 Report Builder is duplicative with the subreport parameters

  I encounter this problem to launch Report Builder Windows XP:
  
  1. create a report.
  2. create a subreport that has input parameters.
  3. Add the subreport to the main report and set the parameters to the subreport.
  4. Save and close both files.
  5. open again the main report file.
  6. look at the list of parameters to subreport to the linked subreport
  
  Regularly, I find that in this scenario, any subreport parameter that I initially set was duplicated, such as if, I started with:
  
  varOne - #query.foo. #
  varTwo - #query.bar #.
  
  As soon as the reopening of the main report and the subreport parameter list insepcting I'll see:
  
  varOne - #query.foo. #
  varTwo - #query.bar #.
  varOne - #query.foo. #
  varTwo - #query.bar #.
  
  Which causes errors when I try to run the report.
  
  What the patch schedule for Report Builder?

• Oracle 12 c not not opening Report Builder

  Hi all

  I'm installing Oracle 12 c forms and reports.

  For me report generator does not open.   It throws error as ca.dll not found.

  and I started the report server using startManagedWeblogic WLS_REPORTS

  when checking the url http://localhost:9002 / reports/rwservlet/showjobs ?

  It shows error like REP-52266: the current report server

  How to solve these problems?

  I think that you should start the rwbuilder.bat not find files exe for rwbuilder.bat file and double click it it will start the generator of reports for you.

  After you have started all the below

  startNodemanager,

  startWeblogic,

  startManagedWeblogic WLS_FORMS,

  startManagedWeblogic WLS_REPORTS

  Step forward

  Example of

  1 - run wlst.cmd/wlst.sh ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin

  2 - connect on AdminServer.

  Connect ("WebLogic", "weblogic_password", "hostname:7001")

  3 run the following command from wlst.

  createReportsToolsInstance (instanceName = 'reptools1', 'AdminServerMachine' = machine)

  B. create the stand-alone reporting server

  Example of

  1 - run wlst.cmd/wlst.sh ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin

  2. connect to the AdminServer.

  Connect ("WebLogic", "weblogic_password", "hostname:7001")

  3 run the following command from WLST.

  createReportsServerInstance (instanceName = 'rep_server1', 'AdminServerMachine' = machine)

  This will create a new independent Reports Server named "rep_server1".

  4 - launch the report server.

  Note: The examples use ports and the default credentials.

  C. start / stop the stand-alone reporting server

  Go to the DOMAIN_HOME/bin folder and issue the following commands:

  startComponent.cmd or startComponent.sh [name of report server]

  or

  stopComponent.cmd or stopComponent.sh [name of report server]

  Then follow my approach I gave above.

  I think your problem will be solved.
