  Hello everyone,

  Sorry to bother you, but as a new user of Labview, I always have problems to the VI program. I try to do my best alone, but right now I'm at an impasse for some time... That's why I come back to you.

  Here's my problem:

  -in A VI I made, I have a Boolean value which controls than if the data are recorded or not. When recording is activated, the led lights up, when off the light is.

  -Actually, I bind the Save action to something more complicated:, I wish that the State changing the Boolean value to light several leds in a specific order.

  Thus, when the Boolean value changes, this should change the status of the leds.

  I managed to do it, when you press the button in the boolean_count.VI, which has for result that I would get.

  My problem is that the state change is not triggered by a push button. It depends on several State (true or false), which the record command or not.

  To simulate this, I tried to do the same as above, but with 2 Boolean values, which must be both faithful to initiate a change. I tried to do this in the Try_out_boolean.VI file

  But iin this file, when I push my buttons, there is no change of State in the right part of my Panel of...

  I hope you can underrstand what I mean. If you have any suggestions, I'll be happy to read them.

  in the property node "1and2" of your Try_out_boolean.vi, you read the property "BindingLEDVisible".

  (as I downloaded) That makes no sense at all.

  -> Click on with the mouse on the node of this property one choosing the property "Value" instead.

  Then, your application must react as wanted.

  Thre may be other possible improvements, for example using the event structures instead of constantly of the poll.

  but that's another topic...

  There are a lot of comments on what is broken, how to get around things, tips, etc. but where (if anywhere) is the document change control that everyone tells the world of what has changed? The two updates since the version put Verizon Droid X user manual? I guess I'll print one and look. But seriously, are there not a document that shows what the DESTINY changes that were planned for this version?

  If I failed to point me in the right direction because I've seen bits and pieces and that is through multiple views on several boards of Directors.

  We assume you want a pulse when clicked on a button on front of (boolean).

  I don't always know just what he's wanted.

  You want a single pulse when x is greater than 4?

  

  You don't need a structure for this event.

  Please provide detailed information on the issue. You want to change the default operating system, then I suggest you read the following steps:

  1. press Windows + R, type in msconfig and click Ok.

  2. now click on Start, then select Windows 8 and then click on as a default value.

  3. now click on apply then Ok respectively.

  4 restart the computer and check the issue.

  Newbie here, I found this forum very helpful to meet almost all of my questions, but I was wondering if there was anyway if you change programs that open when I use the control keys on the left side of my laptop?

  Theres 4 keys to the left handisde - internet, play, pause, stop, next, back and then windows media Center. Basically, I wanted to know if there was a way to change the key of windows media, to open ITunes instead?

  Hello guys

  The fact is that these buttons are designed to work with Windows Media Player and designed Toshiba Express Media Player (installed on some laptop models). As you know, there are so many available layers and it is simply not possible to design a universal tool that works with all of them.

  I know that some guys have reported on WinAmp and media buttons. It must be installed some plug and it should work. Read more about this put winamp plugin words in advanced search option and check the other comments.

• How to change the Boolean flag rectangle into 2 triangles.

  The notation for a valve is two triangles whose ends are touching.  I want to show images of the valve as indicators Boolean - red = closed and green = open.  Is it possible to change the standard indicators normally rectangular or circular shape to match the double triangle.  I know you can get this result using the triangular shapes and blocking part of the rectangular Boolean value which does not resemble the double triangle shape.  I don't want that since I find it difficult to group the shapes.

  

  You have controls and indicators already available in the similar DSC Toolkit.

  Or a solution, you can try is to use custom controls, check your two images in software such as paint.

  Select the control that you want to customize (in you case a Boolean value) and with the right click make Type Def then Open Type def.

  Copy your image to that of the State in the Clipboard, and then select the picture to import from the Clipboard and the State associated with your image in the right click menu

  Do the same again for the other State.

  You can also find more information about the controls customized using LabView

• Switch control Boolean to false automatically after a set time

  I'm trying to control when I register given by the presence of the user press a Boolean control on the front panel. I want the data to be saved for only 3 seconds and having the Boolean control automatically enabled to false so that the data will stop recording and control changes on the front but does not prevent the execution of the VI. The reason is that I want to have the user to create a settings file for a laser used outside of labview where entered the user through digital controls the current settings of laser and a wavelength of laser meter reading is found measured and saved in labview. So after that the data records for 3 seconds the user would input new parameters for the laser and then save the new configuration of the meter wavelength and repeat this operation several times.

  I tried a case hang as seen in the attached VI and you have also tried a state machine with control of ENUM. I can't get this thing to work. Any help would be appreciated.

  Easier implementation is to have a state machine. You would have a State to collect data for a specific timer and another State to exit the VI.

  Hey people,

  first of all, thanks for any help/idea/suggestions you gave me before.  many congratulations given.

  The problem that I am currently blocked is quite simple to understand if you can afford ttake on im VI setting.

  I have a table in my user interface whose element type is a grouping of several controls.  On my real application user interface (and also the example vi I've done) there is more than one item at a time displayed in the table.  The size of the table is fixed, there are 8 visible elements whose individual orders are changed by the user.

  I figured out how to get the name of the control that I changed the value of the element, but I don't know which item it was changed to.  I was hoping that the solution might be easier to deal with the details of what item has been changed... I'm aiming for scalability here.  Know someone of you labviewers with a bow prop or somehting that will give me an indication of what changed comp?

  This is a different (and functional) approach.  No need for registration of complex dynamic events.  See the image below.

  In the SinglePass model, I wish to draw the attention of the user if the report generation is disabled and the opportunity to turn it on for this sequence is run.

  To relight, I write false to: Parameters.ReportOptions.DisableReportGeneration

  But then, TestStand hesitates a few steps further with the error: "list macros used by the expression of the report file path cannot be changed during execution.

  Any ideas what I am doing wrong? All I have changed is a Boolean value in the parameter container ReportOptions. It's not legal?

  Believer,

  I agree that 'Change of list of Macro' verification should not mistake when you have enabled the generation of reports. It is a bug and we'll fix it in a future version of TestStand.

  As a solution, reminder of report options, you can add an expression to set the 'Parameters.ReportOptions.CheckIfMacroListIsUnchanged' false, whenever you have activated ReportGeneration.

• Programatically change control to generate and event...

  I add some improvements of the user (anti-screw-it-up functions) to ensure the desired process are executed.

  First question: if I have handles by a change of value in a text control, an event (event occurs when you press enter or exit control with the mouse) the event will also occur if you leave the control by changing by programming the focus to another control?

  I'll try and put in place a vi temp to test this, but wanted to see if anyone had tried this and if it works or not.  My other option is to set up several instances of the event but I was hoping to use a single case to handle everything.

  A few details, I have a test system that tests a product automatically when the product is placed in a cradle and the cradle is put in position and active a prox sensor.  At the end of the test, the system waits for prox sensor turn off before resetting the system.

  If a device goes down, there are options to rework and the unit can be retested.  When it fails, a label prints defining failure modes and provides a number of failed series.  When the device is tested again, failing serial number is entered into a text control. I want the sequence of re - test (queued upward at the event) occur when 1, a failing serial number is entered or two a key (with mouse) I'm pretty sure by pressing a button would in turn automatically create the event of change of control of text so my button can no doubt be a fictitious button just for appearances.

  When the hole is if the user enters a serial No. failed and don't leave the command and then committed a pump to start the test.  Can I use a function of "empty access/string path ' but the control will continue to show empty as if nothing has been entered until you press the Enter key or the mouse is used to exit the control."

  If I can generate the event by changing the focus, then it will ensure that if you enter a failure s/n, the sequence of re - test occurs and if nothing exists in this domain, it performs a first test of time.

  A bit long-winded for sure, but any thoughts are appreciated.

  Can't really post a simple code that this feature is in my top level vi and I have a very large app justifying download.

• Move the controls the façade of a VI. How do you get a reference to a whole "grouped" controls?

  Fundamental problem (boring, if not disastrous - but common - at least for me):

  When you try to two sktick different screws together and you copy the block diagram from one to the other, it sticks all the controls in the middle of nowhere.  Then, you will need to spend about 10 minutes by dragging controls to the screen from one end of the diagram to another - sometimes more than 15 screens.  Surely, there must be a better way?

  * Either by the way, you might think that labview would have this kind of parameters in the 'properties' of the control in the right click menu - but not joy.

  I guess the obvious thing is that you can write a VI that will get a reference to a particular control, then say together, that is the position (x, y) to zero.  The only thing is that generally, there will be a selection of controls, and often they will be organized nicely - after bring them to zero that you don't want to rearrange their new.  I tried grouping, controls, but then the problem is - how to get a reference to a group of controls.  If you move one of them it does not keep the spatial arrangement.  At this point, I lost - and easily spent more time that should fix this problem.

  Any thoughts?

  If I understand you correctly, when you copy the block diagram of the second VI in the first, the controls of the second end of VI place far-field on the left on the front panel of the first, correct?  I think that these added controls will maintain their relative positions between them so you should be able to find them all as a group in the left field. Then it's all just a matter of how to get them enmasse to the rest of the controls on the front panel. There are some easy ways to do this. There is a button on the toolbar at the top of the front window that allows objects to resupply/group/dissociate the façade. You can select all the orders/lights out in left field and ' ' together them. (As an alternative, you can also drop them all on a tab control that will serve as a container for them). Then you select this group and with selected scroll back on to the existing façade and search and select (shift) ALSO a control/indicator to group existing too. Then with the TWO existing of the selected control and the new group (or a tab with the new group control) selected using the ALIGN buttons to quickly bring a corner of the new group in the alignment of the old control. At this point, you can unlink the news and move it where it should be.

  When I change the "open with" to the different program and then select the right product to Microsoft again, it always produces generic folded paper with icons on it instead of the icon to the right for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.  Help!
