Change "JPEG" then "Save as" is destructive?

After searching around I can't find an answer to a simple question. If I open a jpeg image and edit "with or without" layers, flatten then (in the case of layers) the image and select the "save under" command and rename the file or select 'as a copy", will be my original jpeg suffer and adverse effects if I do not save the original file? I often hear talk about destructive editing and thicknesses, etc. I tried the same photo of edition three times without saving the original and the file size is the same, which suggests that its non-destructive control, but would like a definitive answer. Thanks in advance

Quite correct.  In short, there is no possibility of "destruction" If the original file is never overwritten!  Something I like to do from time to time.

As side note, in a raw format to take pictures to keep things straight, there is simply no ability to crush a raw file with file - save.

Ideas: how to convert a JPEG text file to the one in which I can change and then print?

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

This can be done better with Adobe Photoshop CS5 http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/compare/ which is about the gold standard for working with documents of the image - but it's a bit expensive.  It also won't be easy even with this program - it is possible but it will take time and effort.

If you do not Photoshop, you can use the tool text box in Microsoft Word or picture in Microsoft Publisher - even if they are quite a bit more difficult to work with Photoshop (which is hard) and the results will not look as good, regardless of how carefully you use. The advantage of Word on the editor, is that you have the possibility to use a Wordart object and 3D text. So these are the vector graphics as opposed to a bitmap will not appear on your final print rasterized (but this isn't a problem with Photoshop)

Quality is really about how much the text superimposed on the image - if it is separate, it will be much easier than if it is covering the picture (so the question is how to fix the image once the text is deleted or changed and not only to change the text).  And it may not be a simple matter to simply correct a word or two, if you do not have the same font available - you may need to change the entire text, so it will look right.

Another solution is to use OCR software to scan the image, and then try to modify the text.  Still, it won't be easy (probably even harder than the options above) but it's a possibility (depending on how the text is mixed with the image).  The problem here is that most of the options just freeware have the ability to make such a complex task, so you would probably need a comprehensive program of recommended.  Here are some options:http://www.simpleocr.com/OCR_Software_Guide.asp.  What you should do the work is also quite expensive and if you choose this option or the above options depends on what other uses you may have for these programs (and the quality you're looking for in the finished product), once again, I don't think something will do the job as well as Photoshop - I have Photoshop (an earlier version) and I never tried to do it before I did a bunch of other things that would seem impossible.  I don't want to attempt this task if the text superimpose the image, because although I think it would be possible, it would take a LOT of time and effort to obtain a finished product of acceptable quality.

Technically, you could use Microsoft Paint to do this, but the quality would probably (which are certainly) be terrible and I doubt you want to even keep yourself let alone print it or send it to someone else.  In some cases, it might do the trick but it's free (again, depending on where to find the text and especially if she superimposes the image).

Regarding the conversion of the JPG file, I'm not sure what turn you to who would make it easier to change and change as you suggest here.  Perhaps TIFF, but it helps very much.  Here are some converters of JPG files:http://convert-jpg.software.informer.com/.  Even if you converted to a .doc file, you could just open it and change the text - it is not as simple as that.

Another option would be to convert the JPG file in a file of CAD and CAD software allows you to edit the image - but I'm not familiar with CAD products so I can't offer recommendations here (except that I heard that most working properly are still more expensive than the above options and they can be used just about everything).

Whatever you decide to do, it won't be easy (and perhaps costly as well).  There are freeware programs that claim to be able to do these things, but you will not be disappointed by the quality (unless the text is separated from the image, you can totally erase what's there and replace it with the one you want).  For them, you can search on Bing, Google,www.tucows.comand www.download.com.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Find the layer with the name "Name1" a name change for 'name2' and then save PDF

Hi there together, we have the following problem:

We need a Javascript script to rename all the layers named 'name1' to 'name2' and then save the PDF file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Patrick

This code will rename the layer:

    var ocgArray = this.getOCGs();
    for (var i=0; i

Save the file afterwards is more complicated. You can use the Save command sub in a context of trust to do it silently, or you can call the dialog box save as, and let the user manually, by using the command app.execMenuItem ("SaveAs").

  • Then save the changes to a model change the divs can be changed on existing pages?

I made changes in a model that has at least 100 child pages.  When I apply the modified model to these pages to change any of the sections editable child pages?  I guess this isn't, but I need to know for sure.  If I had to review all pages of the child after the upgrade, it would be a total disaster.  When I do revisions on the model it would be better if I deleted all the information in the sections editable in the model so that they would not affect the child pages or would it be empty what is now in the editable child pages parts.  I can't find any info in my market after manual or on the adobe help on this section.  Waiting for your advice.

The model should not change any content in a "editable region" page of the child. (I'll always do a backup copy of your site folder copy before making any changes just in case something goes wrong)

The contents of the editable on your child pages regions should not change because they are not in areas that are "locked" in the main model.

I would like to as I said make a copy of your record of site before you disturb updated anything.

With 100 + pages he sounds like the workflow could be better managed using SSI (SSI). You need to download 100 pages after you make the changes to the model to discover you have missed a change and then I have to re-download the entire batch.

  • JPEG file save and the rate of loss in PSE

When working with jpeg files in the editor of PES, PES runs an automatic internal file 'Save' after each adjustment, (levels, color, etc.)?  I always thought that the file will not be saved until the user makes a manual backup once the editing is complete.

If automatic 'saved' internal is performed after each adjustment on a jpeg file. then the image degradation may be accelerated beyond what we could expect, that is, each saving a jpeg file reduces the quality of the image.  If these automatic judgments are made, so I assume that is the only way to edit files in psd format, then save the final psd file to a jpeg format to save disk space.

    Yes.

No, the format "in memory" is not saved on the disc, unless you manually choose to "save under".

If you periodically save a jpeg version (by overwriting the older), without closing the file, changes to jpeg compression are not cumulative. The version "in memory" is kept. It's not as if you save it in jpeg format, close and reopen, in which case compression double jpeg would have occurred.

If you want periodic stops in a long of an image editing session, it is best to save as psd, because saving layers, selections... It is also best if you work in 16-bit. If you save as a jpeg, the jpeg compression will be done only once, there will be no cumulative loss of quality.

  • Using Lightroom 5 as it is autonomous to convert RAW, then save to CS2?

I am a professional photographer, and I am perfectly happy with my version of CS2 in Photoshop, I can get it to do what I need, without having to spend another $600 on the latest version.

Unfortunately the new camera that I bought has CS6, or 4-5 Lightroom to process RAW files.  Can I just buy Lightroom and use it as a stand-alone product, and then save the file in tiff format to continue work on this subject in my CS2?

Yes, you can do it. You can designate Photoshop CS2 as external editor. When you choose to edit in Photoshop, you will receive a warning that camera raw is obsolete, and you can choose to make a copy with Lightroom adjustments. You can set up Lightroom so that the copy will be a PSD or TIF image. I think most of the people prefer to TIF. Then you can tell Lightroom does not show this option more. From there to the front any when you choose to edit in Photoshop Lightroom will create the TIF image and transmit it. When you save the changes in Photoshop these changes that will be included in the TIF image that is in the Lightroom Catalog.

Can I listen to a voice message then save as a new voicemail?

I need to be able to listen to a voice message, and then save this as new voice mail as a way to remind me that voicemail requires further action.  Is it possible to do?

I'm on AT & T with an iPhone 5s.  Latest iOS.

As to listen to voice messages via the carrier's own analog servers, it cannot be marked as not read times read.

One idea would be to save them as voice memo, or share, as offered here - How to save voicemails on your iPhone - Apple Support

Up to two web days ago pages printed fine for me, now, I only gave the option to save as a print job. XPS file - and then save it. If I cancel, it tells me that there is an unknown printer failure but testing printer just fine.

Hi sofg777, when you're on a page you want to print try to press ctrl + P, and then select a different printer than the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, who seems to be set as the default printer in firefox at the moment.

If I'm working on a project in a free trial of Premiere Elements, and then save the project (do not export it) and open it again in the full version of Premiere Elements, the watermark will be removed?

If you have made the timeline or out of a movie from the trial version, it will have this watermark on it.

Once you have purchased and activated the software, you can remove the watermark by going to the folder directory on your computer where your project files are saved and deleting the folder Adobe Premiere elements preview files.
