Change language windows repair installation possible?

I installed windows 7 Home Basic on a friends laptop with its windows OEM key, but my own image of windows 7 ultimate, set to ask for the version of windows before installation. but my windows is in English, and my friend would like to have his German (she didn't provide me with installation dvd, so I can't us with its original language).

Since this is Home Basic, I cannot use a language pack and prefer not to use any 3rd third-party tool, which may be able to do (I also think that the tool mentioned in another thread on this topic just made for home premium and professional and not Basic).

now, I also have a windows 7 dvd in German, what can I do to install Home Basic instead. My question is, would proceed with a repair install using this dvd of German home base to change the language from English to German, or what I need to completely reinstall windows from this dvd German in German?

It's just a matter of time, since graduating from vanilla windows 7 SP1 + all updates is quite long, so install a repair would be preferable, if she was going to change the language.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, cross language upgrades are not taken in charge.

  • Satellite L675 - how to change into another language (Windows 7)?

We recently bought a number of L675s with Windows 7 Home Premium. I installed it with the language = German, but a couple of our staff now came back and asked to have the English instead. The machines came with four languages (English, German, French, Italian), but once installed, it is not possible to change the language. Not even using the recovery disk. What should I do to achieve it - buy the Toshiba Recovery disk support?

    Hello

As far as I know it of not possible to change the language after you have selected the language during the installation process.
So either you will modernize the Windows 7 Enterprise or Ultimate and install a package of multiple language (it is available for the version of Win 7 Enterprise and Ultimate only), or you can buy the here Toshiba Recovery disk:

  • Repair Windows 7 installation problem

I want to try a repair installation on my computer running W7 Pro x 64 SP1 to see if it will solve a problem that I think is related to a problem with the OS.  I have a version of Windows and a valid product key, activated.   I have my original W7 install disk (it was actually an update of XP) as well as a separate drive that is the update SP1 of W7 (NOT an installation disc).

Despite having valid keys, I am unable to download the image of recovery of Microsoft software, receiving a message that the language is wrong and that I should choose another language.  I went to tech support and they said it was because the product key was used 20 times - I only used it once, and it was obtained directly from MS during a support for the problem to upgrade installation.

In any event after hours of troubleshooting including calls and conversations and an initial statement that my only recourse was to buy a new key technical support referred me to MS shop, telling me that they would give me a new key. After more chat, the MS store tech referred me to the reception of the answer; so, after hours of support not I dropped.

With the resources I have, is it possible that I can build a drive that I can use to repair/installation, without having to download a picture of MS?

Well, more hours on the phone with various divisions of MS support and FINALLY got someone who gave me a link where I could download an ISO of Win 7 Prof x 64 legitimate, installable to my system.  It took many more hours than I would have had to spend, this copy is legitimate, but, at least, I can now use this to do a repair/install of my dysfunctional W7 program.

  • A lot of memory used after the repair Installation of Windows XP

I recently put a new motherboard in my computer and it took that I re - install Windows XP.  I managed to re - install Windows XP with my previous settings still intact, but I noticed that he had a lot of memory used (~ 20 GB) which has not been used before the installation of my new motherboard.  I checked all the files that I had in 'My Computer', and the total memory was not adding up to what was planned to be used.

During the Windows XP installation process, I chose the option to repair an existing Windows XP, in the hope that it would recover my previous settings.  I could continue until the activation of the installation part and had trouble with it; but was soon fixed.  I thought that if I continued to repair the existing Windows XP that it would remedy the activation part I had problems.  So all I can assume is that additional memory that has been used is from several times, I fixed my existing operating system due to the multiple copies of the same files that were used to repair.
I contemplated I should save my computer, delete the partition, reformat the hard drive and install a fresh Windows XP or find a way to delete the files that take up a lot of place and who fail to find.  With the first option, I'd still have these files 'Phantom' on my backup, which in turn would be always present when I restore my backup the freshly installed Windows XP.
I would like to know if I'm near a possible remedy to this situation, or y at - it another option I don't see who could solve this problem?

    I m a bit confused now
What exactly happens on your laptop? You can start Windows?

I think the article MS says it all: to repair Windows you need a disc of Microsoft Vista.

Alternatives to reinstall the entire system use the Toshiba recovery disc that contains a picture of the factory settings. Have you created this disk?

  • How to make a recovery disk or possibly to do a windows repair disk?

Compaq presario CQ60 notebook pc. Processor AMD Athlon dual-core QL-62. Microsoft windows vista version/version 6.0 service pack 2. 32 bit

    Hello:

You can make recovery DVD by going to the menu all programs and find the HP Recovery Manager program where there should be a line to make recovery disks. Carefully follow the instructions that you only get one chance to make them.

You can do a repair or reinstallation of Vista disk by reading the info below. You can only use the disc to reinstall Vista if you can read the product key microsoft complete 25 characters on the label stuck on the bottom of your laptop.

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

If you can read your 25-character product key MS, you can make your own Windows Vista installation disc. You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-Microsoft-Windows-v...

After you install Vista successfully, you can then install the drivers for your PC and driver page support.
