  • Change the opening folder 'Explorer '.

Now, I want to change the default folder for exploring.  It always opens in the Start Menu, and I often work in folders that I have stored on the C drive.   I find it very annoying that I have to click my way to where I want to work.  It is inefficient and tedious.  I tried to explore all the different options in the 'Properties' menu, but as these do a lot of things with the records management, I can't find one that changes the folder "default open".  Help!  and THANK YOU!  M.W.

  • How can I change the language of IE7 in Spanish?

I used to have IE6.xx (Spanish version ), I've just updated to IE7, now the menus appear in English & more is in Spanish.  How can I change cela return? do I have to uninstall the update?

    Hi hubovetz,

I suggest you go thrugh the link below which explains how to change your Internet Explorer language settings.
    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/7b4a0825-28e2-4929-82f6-1feac4adb6f31033.mspx

First of all, go online and open Internet Explorer. In the Internet Explorer menu bar, click Tools - Internet Options. To the bottom of the dialog box, click the 'languages '. The dialog box that appears will be a line saying that the menus and dialog boxes are currently displayed in English. Click on the button 'Edit' next to this line. A second, more small dialog will appear. Click on the "Add" button.

This will take you to the Windows Update site, and the site will be a few moments, creating a list of available downloads. Unless you also want to download other components, scroll down and uncheck the boxes that are enabled by default. To the bottom of the page, you will find the language support International section. Find a selection that says 'Spanish Menus and dialogs for Internet Explorer' and click on the box next to it to select it. Then go back up to the top of the page and click on the blue arrow 'download '.

On the next page "Download Checklist" you will get a summary of what you have selected, it shall indicate only the Spanish menus and dialogues. Click the arrow to start the download and it will download and install the update. Once this is done, close the browser window. Back to the small dialog box and click on the arrow next to the text box "Display menus and dialogs in..". When the list down, Spanish should now be one of the choices. Click on I agree, and then click on accept again on the two remaining dialog boxes to remove them. At some point, you will get a message box telling you to restart so that the changes can take effect. Once you do this, the next time you open Internet Explorer menus and dialog boxes must be in Spanish. Due to the integration between IE and Windows, you will find Spanish grow in other places too, like the Windows Explorer.

    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards
    Marnie.

  • Is it possible to change the language of my computer. From Spanish to English. It's a sony vaio with Windows XP

It's a sony vaio pcv-w200m. Sold only in Latin America. Bought one and it would be so easy to change the language. Just need to know if I have any hope to convert the language from Spanish to English?

    Hello

If you have installed Windows XP on your computer and you are using the Spanish version, you can change the operating system to accept the entries of the language of other languages supported, such as English. This will help enter you commands and text in languages other than Spanish, making it easier to use the operating system in your native language.

    (a) click on 'start '. Select the "Control Panel", and then open the section ' Date, time, language and Regional Options ".

    (b) click on the button "Add other languages", click the "Languages" tab and then click on the button "Details".

    (c) change the setting from "Default input language" in English, and then click the OK"" button.

    (d) computer and changing the settings is applied to the computer.

You can read this article and check if it helps:

  • Changed the record office to another drive, but now nothing appears on my real desk

    Hey everybody,

So, I recently had a hd crash and decided to try a hybrid ssd/hdd. I have my boot of my ssd, which I guess by default placed the desktop folder in the same drive. After some research, I found how to change the path to the C: Office, which was the ssd, K:, that was the hard drive. Now every time I save anything on the desktop, it saves on the K: drive but nothing comes up on my real desk.

I guess it is because the path Office is on the C: drive, but can I change it so that it displays all of my K: drive?

I am running windows 7 Professional and use the double disc WD Black2.

    Thanks in advance!

Moving files in Windows 7 and Windows 10 user

1 this is the standard way to work [I've included in the procedure to move all user folders rather than just the desktop folder you mentioned and I spoke also defining the IE file downloads].

1.1 create a folder K:\Documents & moving * your data inside files [move content from C:\Users\yourusername\Documents not the folder \Documents C:\Users\yourusernamehimself].

[* Windows will offer to move the files on you when you change the location definition in subsection 1.2 tab, but it can get really annoying if it fails, then it is safer to move yourself in advance.]

1.2 set the location in \Documents C:\Users\yourusernametab to point to K:\Documents.  You do this, as you must already know, by doing a right click on the file C:\Users\yourusername\Documents and selecting Properties and then click on the location tab.

1.3 set permissions to K:\Documents by clicking right on & selecting share with specific people or one right click on it & select Properties then the sharing tab.  [You can allow yourusername & accounts Admin reading & writing, but other users ['allowed users'] to have, for example, list only permissions].

1.4 repeat 1.1 - 1.3 for these other user folders [I showed records that I moved them just for example]

    Music K:\Documents\Music,

    Photos K:\Documents\Pictures,

    Videos K:\Documents\Videos,

    [IE] Favorites K:\SystemSettings**\Favorites

    Links K:\SystemSettings**\Links***,

    Search K:\SystemSettings**\Searches.

[* SystemSettings - it just suited my backup plan to separate these parameters in one group different file.]

[* Links - This is the entrance to 'Favorites' that appears at the top of the Windows Explorer Navigation pane - he has very wisely been renamed in Windows 10 quick access since that's what it is dedicated]

A folder of additional user exists in Windows 10 - the screenshots folder and my advice on the use of this facility and moving his file is in setting and checking of the screenshots folder

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

2 verification of the task and correction of errors by using the registry; check the IE, downloads folder

2.1 it is probably possible to change the parameters of location in the registry manually rather than use the location tab, but I only looked at him subsequently to check happened correctly and to correct an error I had made.

2.2 as it is to change the registry the usual warning apply [back to the top of all, make an image of the system, test the system repair disc / Windows installation disc so that you know that you can start with something to be able to restore the image if Windows will not cooperate].

2.3 open RegEdit [C:\Windows\regedit.exe] - I always open it by right-clicking and selecting run as administrator, but I don't think that it is essential for the special keys used in this task.

2.4 I checked how to implement by accessing user ID

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

and clicking each entry in the list to see what number S-1-5-21-NNNNNNNNNNNN-100X is the name of the affected user.  The user name appears in the right-hand side of the RegEdit window you look at each entry.  The number of S-1-5-21-etc., it will be the X at the end between your user accounts.

2.5, go to this entry [using the S-1-5-21-etc number you just found]

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-NNNNNNNNNNNN-100X\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

2.6 checks if the value of the personal in the right side by double-clicking on the personal and changing that value to that of the new way you have implemented already.  [Staff means entry of user my documents ].

2.7 checking the values of the other user folders that you moved.

2.8.1 [Windows 7] while you're there, check IE, location of the downloads folder.  It is in the key

{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B} which is normally the second entry down just after {Default}.  This sets the folder you would normally define in IE, Tools, view downloads, Options.  I saw that the normal procedure fool you once, and there is no adverse consequence to set the correct value in the registry instead.

2.8.2 [Windows 10] you must manually set this folder once for a corresponding registry entry must be created.  Thus, as a first step, set the folder in IE, Tools, view downloads, Options.  Subsequently, you will be able to check & to change the setting to Explorer\Main HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2568008921-1580239441-348697478-1001\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet with its default download directoryentry.

2.9 you will also see a few lines up key

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-NNNNNNNNNNNN-100X\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell records

and the corresponding entries in there match those in which you have worked in.  I mention the existence of the second series of entries just because you could see the and might get scared that something has gone wrong.  When I made this correction, I just couldn't get the second set until later so I have whatever it is worry.  You will notice that some entries exist in two of these areas, while others exist only in one of them.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3 while I saw some threads in this forum who allege that registry changes can achieve more than using the box location tab [i.e. more than my procedures in article 1 & 2 cover], I see no convincing evidence that it worked [and I saw at least a thread who said that subsequent attempts to run a repair installation wouldn't work - the system has just said that he could not. work with unexpected folder locations that he discovered].  I think that these discussions said that they had moved all of the user profile on the data disk, but I have no notes thereon as they seemed to me to be questionable procedures.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

4 benefits of the relocation of the user folder

The separation of your data files of your operating system & its applications is not just free up some space on the OS disk [normally C:\], it also allows to make images of system regular training of the BONE that are almost certainly going to be 40 GB or smaller [and only take 25 minutes to do].

It would take you back to excellent capabilities as response to the corruption of the serious system could then be to boot from a system repair disc or a Windows 7 USB/DVD installation and restoration of this image, i.e. restore the system drive, exactly what was on it at the time that the image was made.  This restoration only takes about 25 minutes.

I did a couple of years and would never set up my system any other way now.  I had previously considered images of the system as a tool of INFORMATION services used to avoid the difficulty of flaws correctly, but I was wrong.  Now, I make them regular system on external drives and can therefore get reliable disaster & quickly.  You can hunt with confidence the flaws or just to do experiments in knowing that you will be able to go back to square one, even if everything goes wrong.

With separate system & datafile discs, you can continue to do backups of simple file of your own files on your disk data using Windows backup or another backup of file utility.
